EMD Thunder around Whangarei (HD) 

On Friday 27th January 2023, I ventured down to Whangarei during Cyclone Hale to capture some of my local KiwiRail action.
While I was down there, I caught DC4260 on the L1 Shunts, 4 locomotives on Train 120 from Auckland, 2 DFB's on Train 129. The 4 locomotives on Train 120 were DL9567, DL9452, DFB7010, DFB7160. The DL's came up for driver training between Whangarei & Portland over the weekend.

EDIT: To this day (Monday 30th October, 2023), these are the last Trains 120 & 129 services to run due to damage to the North Auckland Line from Cyclone Hale on Auckland Anniversary Weekend 2023 and Cyclone Gabrielle in Mid February 2023. Train 129 only made it as far as Huarau before having to stop because the line was blocked by massive slips. All 6 locomotives (DL9567, DL9452, DFB7010, DFB7160, DC4260, & DCP4663) are still stuck in Whangarei.
