That slight swirl of the two resin colors at the bottom made me think of the Amazon Basin for some reason. Must be the intense green contrasts on either side, like a rocky beach next to a green river shaded by trees. Lovely.

Another gorgeous green project (if I ruled the world, all your projects would be blue and/or green, lol - but then we'd never have those dazzling red and orange creations!) It's kind of funny. Sometimes when you're halfway through turning a project, it looks almost like a flowerpot. Then you work your magic and it's suddenly become such an elegant shape, just like this one. Plus that stripe down the middle of the bottom looks really cool! (ps, I've been off my normal youtube channels and am binging to catch up on your videos) Thanks as always for sharing!

I LOVE that...In the beginning, when you said you didn't know what happened in this one spot but hoped you could turn it out...and you had waxed it the edges THEN put resin on it....Earlier I asked if there were nicks and chips, couldn't you resin whatever it was...you said yes as long as it wasn't waxed or something...maybe that one spot was like it was because there was wax....

yes it was Waxed on the Ends only and I cut the end off and did not use them, when waxing wood to dry it out you only wax the end as the grain is like a straw, seal the straw ends and it dries evenly, the cracks were due to the wood still being wet in side, I tested other pieces to find this out after the fact.

Great piece Doug. Loved the clear maker's coin. I find my interest in the videos of a particular turner is very influenced by how much I learn while watching. And then of course, how much I have already learned from a particular turner. Thank you for all the improvements in my technique. I also find it very difficult to learn from anyone who never makes mistakes or who has lost the ability to laugh at those mistakes. Kudos Doug! What's next?

Gorgeous as always! Also, a hint from a photographer-take the bottom skinny legs of your tripod and un-extend them. Extend your top, thicker legs first, then the middle (if needed) for more stability and less vibration.

Thank You Thomas, gotcha, I am not sure what is extended actually, the go pro is on a bogen Tripod but I have a telescoping selfie stick I try to keep as short as possible, sometimes if the tripod is touching the lathe if vibrates

@@PohlBarnProductions At 14:11 the tripod in the upper right was the one I was referring to. Always extend the bottom skinny legs last-they're the least stable-the weakest link if you will. Regardless, beautiful work as always!

yeah I normally use that for my Phone when I am in a hangout with others, they can get motion sickness, LOL that would be funny, normally they are in my ears and we are talking while they watch what I am doing, I also use that at the end when I film the outtro with my phone at the sticker board,

**A few words of caution on the UV resin.. Always be conscious of leaving the cap off the bottle in areas with natural light and if you use LED lighting in your shop, it may cure before you get a chance to use it. On the flip side, UV resin needs the UV light to gets all the way through it's depth to cure, so you're limited with using some pearl and metallic pigments as they don't allow the light through to deeper areas. Better to do many very thin coats curing after each, rather than having a surprise liquid blob inside! Oh, and it will NEVER cure without light! This turned out really cool, I'm feeling Hulk vibes! I'm happy to see that woodturners are finally catching on to UV resin, we've been using it in the crafting/jewellery world for years.

Thank You, I do have LED's in the shop, they must be to weak as they never set up the small amount I had in a dixie cup. I do believe it takes a bit longer with the TB brand stuff, but I will figure it out. Thanks again for watching
