I grew up in San Diego, Ca grew up all over and different neighborhoods and know people from all over. The problem is opportunities, investment in the youth, neighborhoods, and programs that bring people housing, and loans for businesses. If people are not allow to thrive in their own neighborhood, by making decisions for the future, own businesses, and and open up opportunities for people to advance...then change is just a bumper sticker and concept that will never come to be seen as a reality. Shout to this respectable brother talking, I used to live in Emerald hills and went to Johnson Elementary. I wish peace and blessings to all my brothers and sisters in San Diego. God bless

We moved out of Lincoln Park. My wife's parents still live in the area. We lived down the street from Dr. J's Liquor. My wife worried about our family and said she didn't want me or the kids out after 10pm. It's not as bad as it used to be back in the day but its still messed up.

@meech RYLES Yeah. They cleaned it up and banned some of the ex gang members from coming to the area. We're Christians so we do a lot of praying and preaching and when we lived there we'd go to where ever there was problems and we'd pray for the people around and see if we could help them with anything. Craziest night was after a shooting at the market up the street on 47th. Like everyone had drama even if not involved in the shooting. Smh. Lol

@ 3:47, Brotha speaking on this Hill at this park. I remember in 75 going to this park in SD, climbing up a hill and it was a huge park. This was my first & only time seeing SD Bloods. (I guess that who they were) Big Country was there and told me to leave. I was high of course and I usually didn't obey when I was ordered to do something but for some reason I did and I never returned to that park again. Actually I didn't go to any park when I lived in SD. Mmm! We lived on Logan Ave in bunch of apartments, then I move to 3977 National Ave in some more apts near the 39th St Navy Base. Big Country stayed on Logan.

Real San Diego history. Skyline and Lincoln Park originally started off as allies when they were Lincoln Park Piru. We controlled everything in the Southeast! The 59 brims was the original blood gang in San Diego. And the 59 brims did not start off as 59 brims. The split between Lincoln Park and Skyline had caused the division between certain factions. And once the split happened it caused a chain reaction of events that I believe should have never happened! As small as Emerald Hills was I can be honest they were with the s***! But at the same time they linked up with the Lincoln parks and the 5/9 brims. When it was Skyline against the world and whoever made the mistake of killing Maurice Starr under the assumption that he was a Skyline gang member. And that is how Skyline and O'Farrell came to be. A lot of people don't know this but Skyline and O'Farrell had internal issues because they started off as a school Clique called O'Farrell Park Piru. And once Maurice Starr was killed that was the beginning what 68 is now.
