I once walked into a computer repair shop that I did contract work for, and the trash can was on fire. The clerk was just staring at it. I asked if she planned on doing anything about it, and she said "No, I don't know where the fire extinguisher is.", in the most bored tone imaginable. I poured my soda into it, since I didn't know either, and drug it the slightly less burning trash can into the parking lot. Some plastic displays had melted, and the building reeked of smoke, but no damage was done. I called the owner, and discovered 1) There was no extinguisher and 2) he had no insurance. That was the day I decided I didn't want to do contract work for them anymore. My point is, some emergency responses really are as bad as they show.
