The character presentation and look alike ness resemblances do look intresting. Btw knowing a prerequisite knowledge of this "EMERGENCY" would be beneficial jabs . This is one of the most important histro-political incident which have had put pressure on indian systems , and was narrowly avoided in 1975 , when literally everyone was against India (usa , pak , minorly intrested china , uk etc) but russia came to help .

I was a little sceptical about how they'd do this historical/political movie.. But after seeing her deliver those lines, I was very surprised as to how accurately she portrayed Indira Gandhi.. I couldn't tell the difference between the real deal and the actress. Wow. 😲

I'm awestruck by her look mannerism voice modulation n whole vibe of 70s truly never expect this but when we talk about kangana everything is possible she's goddess of acting craft Queen of Indian cinema 🔥 she can comfortably do 5 mins role with big heros like her contemporary do but she's kangana she's known for her fighter attitude n challenging roles more power to her.

Though Indira Gandhi imposed Emergency in 1975 (one of the darkest chapters in Modern India), she came back to power 4 years later, the reason being- One Woman Army. True, she was one of the most powerful women in India....

Indira Gandhi was very strong willed and determined woman, politician and of course the leader of India. She was known as the Iron Lady of India. She did brought so much of advancement in the society and the way Indian polito-bureaucracy system worked. And as far as it goes, she was the last strong PM before the current PM of India. Typically as it happens - the strong you are - the more you want to get stronger and the more you get addicted to the power. She became powerful than her own party and cabinet and her own country that anything and everything that she perceived can go against her - she started crush that then and there. Her paranoia ultimately led her go till the extreme extent of imposing Emergency(disqualifying the fundamental rights of citizens - mainly freedom of speech) in the democratic country -- ultimately went on to the verge of becoming an authoritarian/dictatorship regime. Her strong-handedness did helped India in many situation on the world stage and alliance formations... but it was her same strong-handed nature while dealing a delicate matter during Khalistan insurgency --- led to her assassination. Emergency in the history of independent India is certainly a black period. But frankly/honestly - It somehow happened for good as, it in very early stages of the Indian democracy, showed that no matter how strong a leader becomes - they shouldn't rise above or become larger than the nation and its people itself. Something a very stark reminder for the current generation of public and leaders.... it's not about only 1 person and their will.. it's about the whole nation. I hope this movie approaches the topic neutrally (which is too much to ask from Kangana) and depicts what happens when too much of power and influence falls on a single person's hand. And helps the people of today understand what are future possibilities - if we don't react to what's happening in present.

Indira Gandhi has two of the most important historical decisions of Indian History in her name. One is good and other Bad. Good : She was the PM who cutted Pakistan into 2 parts which led to the formation of present day Bangladesh. Bad : She declared 'Internal Emergency' when she was about to lose her PM post due to a court ruling which declared her election win void.

Indira was immensely loved by common lower class people... But many educated liberals had little different opinions after she imposed emergency on the country...
