@@anthonys2895 Did I say West Texas? No, I said the Rocky Mountain West. Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico. Short growing seasons, and nominal rain fall. Wyoming for example gets on the average of 14 inches of moisture a year. This includes snow melt. Yes, natives did live here, but they moved a lot and always camped near a water source.
@@longrider42 i read correctly and my area gets approx 14" as well. No natives really lived here because there is no surface water and all we get for snow is dustings usually. But I forage from pine, prickly pear, grasses and stuff I managed to save from summer. We have no fall and no natural fruit trees. Pecans, jujubes and mulberry are about it. No woods or trees other than pocket forests. Not saying its easy but can be done. That and I thought that region was in the or east of the Rocky's. The high desert.
