It led to genocides, crime against women, illegal confinement of those opposing her, curtailing the right to freedom of press. I have the highest level of respect for Kangana. She could have stood neutral and enjoyed her lavish self and her life, but she has always stood for the truth despite of being attacked.

The trailer gave a balanced view on Indira Gandhi, i didnt feel kangana intended to portray the character negatively , the trailer gives step by step events that led to that decision , which spriralled our of her control , i feel the reactors own bias about the artist is coming in the way to give its due to the trailer. Its a well cut trailer, rhe casting looks perfect , BGM is gerrific abd Kangana looks and sounds every bit of Indira .

What the trailer shows looks promising. But the hesitation I have with is the people involved with it. Kangana Ranaut and Anupam Kher in recent years have become artists that use their platform to drive pro-BJP narrative at the cost of authenticity. I simply don't trust the creators who use actual historical events for their own current political gains, especially by tweaking the "truth", and it has happened more than a few times in the last decade.

If you guys want to wacth one of the strongest and most powerful political thriller from india it is tashkent files, i mean kashmir files is nothing in terms of filmmaking compared to that. U need to wacth it as its very well researched.The only part that worries me too is how faithful it will be to history and i so badly hope they dont make her character or any other character cariculture and stick to keeping characters balanced with reality or atleast what is known of them(well researched). Emergency was a foolish decision by Indira gandhi and she should have totally avoided it. Yes it is a blot on Indian democracy but still one expected an honest representation of facts if a movie is supposedly historical. Even if you are depicting Raavan on screen, certain liberties cannot be taken. I would have believed the narrative, if last frame would not have happened. Indira gandhi never ever herself said that "Indira is India and India is Indira". This is Factually wrong and misleading. It was said by congress president Mr. D.K. Barooah in 1977. Also to insinuate that she upsurped the chair of Nehruji is absolute rubbish. The scene of meeting between AB Bajpayee and Indira gandhi where she said he is a patriot, is also debatable. If there are so many glaring mistakes in trailer itself, one can easily assume it is yet another propoganda film by kangana ranaut which is going to have no takers. Movies are not made for 30-35% right wing supporters, but the whole public at large. This talented lady single handedly ruined her entire career because of her big mouth and agenda driven movies, without taking in account the big chunk of population, that does not care for her political ambitions. Too sad.

Indira and her son Sanjay Gandhi forced lakhs of men to get operated to make her family planning scheme successful and every hospital was give a target so hospital staff and govt officials were forced to pick random men even unmarried to get forcefully operated and that was also one of the many reasons she got hatred from people which eventually lead to her loosing the election. She also killed hundreds of poor sadhus who helped earlier to win election and she promised to give protection to cows and make law to stop killing them but after winning election she conveniently forget that and when sadhus protested against it she killed many of them by ordering firing on them while they were sitting peacefully for protest. It is said that it was curse of one of leading sadhu who also got killed in firing that eventually lead her murder by a sikh bodyguard.
