I was on that flight, and the basic instructions were also given in English, but they were very brief - something like "We are having a technical difficulty - crew, prepare the cabin for an emergency landing". Then the crew went about their way preparing the cabin and passengers. I was one of the smoothest and quietest landings I've ever been in.
I know some will accuse m of bias being Polish and praising a polish plot and that's understandable. but let me tell you this, Polish pilots are some of the greatest Pilot's I've seen. I don't know whether it's because of our aviation history. But the fact that it was one of the smoothest landing without the landing gear dose not surprise me one bit.
Makes sense - there was the legendary Polish 303 Squadron of the RAF in WWII, and one of the US’s greatest fighter aces during WWII/Korea was of Polish parentage (Francis Gabreski)
@@aarondynamics1311 I've heard that rainair pilots have to slam the planes because of some technical reasons related to the model of the aircrafts their using. I forgot what the reasons are though. Maybe stability or something
Just as the passengers said, it was an excellent landing, according to how the pilot used all of his experience in handling . When I watched the sparks coming out of the landing gear, I really got concerned. It was a blessing of a difficult landing!
BRAVO BRAVO!!! Captain Sullenberger himself, the hero captain who landed his airplane in an emergency landing in the Hudson River, would have been very proud here of this pilot AND air traffic controller and land personnel for ensuring this successful and safe outcome.

I was merely stating again that BOTH landings, whether by an American OR European pilot were remarkable, while assuring the complete safety of its crew and passengers. This is made all the more remarkable, given the fact that one plane lost its landing gear and other plane completely lost engine power and landed in the Hudson RIVER. Please don't take my comment out of context. BOTH pilots performed magnificently. BEST
When things go bad aviation experts tell us there was no crew resource management. But when the crew performs a miracle everyone hails the pilot and forget there was a co-pilot also sitting in the cockpit. 🙄🙄

@@ch36799 dzisiaj tak jest. Dawniej, jak latali radzieckimi samolotami to niestety katastrofy się zdarzały i było ich więcej niż dwa najsłynniejsze wypadki z udziałem Ił62M w latach 80tych

If gears deplox with granity, It would have deployed over the anlantic ocean, on top of skyskrapers, on cruising speeds ,basically anywhere that has gravity(literally everywhere on earth)Think common sense..
the investigators discovered that as well as the hydraulics failure, a breaker popped which prevented the alternate (gravity) gear extension system from working
there still needs to be a locking system in place otherwise the gear would always be falling down. and the locking system uses electricity. use your head.

I ment that "Now people will finally start talking Polish people CAN land a plane" (we had this big plane crash where our presiden't died about year and a half ago and jokes about Polish people and airplane crashing where endless since then.. :/ )
There is nothing more stupid than saying what the lady said at 1:40 'that will have u thinking twice about getting on an airplane: perfect example of people not understanding basic statistics. Everyone know that planes are by far the most save way of travelling. so annoying
