It doesn't seem fair, legal, or democratic to replace Biden (who was chosen in the primary) with Gavin Newsome (that has not been chosen/voted in in a primary). What does seem fair and more democratic is for Biden to step aside, have Kamala step up and run in Biden's place and have Kamala and/or the DNC choose her VP.

10th generation Californian here. We've had some horrible Governor's in the past. Newsom is the absolute worst of them all and represents the ideology that has ruined this state. Can you imagine the look on Joe's face when a half hour before the debate was to start, they told him "Sorry Joe, you're not getting Mommy's little helper tonight. Good luck!". In retrospect, it would have been best for Trump to not agree to a June debate, but to have countered that the first debate should be after their respective conventions.

I'm a native born, resident of California. I voted Democrat, like my parents, in my early years, but switched to Republican in my late 20s. Gavin Newsom served 2 years as governor of California, then later exploited a loophole to get 2 more years California has a Republican minority, but many Democrats are waking up and switching. Half the state would break off, if they could. Voters only count when they vote. Make the effort to be counted!
