Quick update: apparently the reason why the timeline doesn’t have all the games Shadow appeared in is because they couldn’t fit them all in the image. Honestly though, kinda wish they just reworked the timeline image in that case lol
@@StickmanGuides Nothing in either of them even add to his backstory which was what they were focusing on at the panel as good as his appearances in those. If they had been in the timeline they most likely wouldn't have even mentioned them in any detail
I guess that makes sense, but why have Sonic Boom? Not only is that game not part of the main series, but you can take Shadow out of that game and nothing would change. He had his own story in 06
@@johnbot64 He has his own story in 06, Forces and rivals. He was major in the story in rivals 2 and was prevalent in sonic and the black knight and yet they include boom and not them 😂😂😂😂 He had a big role in boom but since it's non canon I just don't see the point
I love how you can from just the one scene already tell Emerl did his copy ability as he perfectly mimicked Shadows kick when they clashed. This is gonna be hype and I'm glad to see Emerl back even if its just in this short.
Year of Shadow is simply...amazing, peak if you must. I await the 3 episode prologue animation, sonic x shadow gens, and at last the movie. I think we can safely say SONIC IS BACK
Not suprised Iizuka said he didn’t think of taking inspiration of Vegeta for Shadow, especially since Shadow is more inspired by Mewtwo n the movie Don’t Destroy My Earth cuz of his backstory. However Spawn tho, that I never knew. I don’t know much about Spawn but so hope folks shade light on what’s similarity does Shadow n Spawn have.
To be fair shadow is nothing like Vegeta. People just think that because the writers didn't know anything about shadow so they just made him a vegeta clone
Izuka's not messing with anyone lol, if he says Shadow wasn't inspired by Vageta then he wasn't inspired by Vageta. Idk why that's so hard to accept especially when it's coming from the literal creator of Shadow. And they didn't show 06 or Forces not because 06 isn't canon or anything but because the timeline was a brief run through of his history. Not a look at every single game he has appeared in. Also Kirk's Shadow has always been great and right up there with Jason and David, he's not just now starting to get good at the role or something.
Tbh I dont think he ever was. I think its due to the well being poisoned with other actual on purpose parallels to DB like Super Sonic or Silvers backstory so ppl assume the same of Shadow when it isnt. They just have a similar archetype like Hei, Sasuke, Killua etc.
He said Vegeta. Who the heck is Vageta?!! And no. Kirk is great and all, but his performance for Shadow makes him sound too gruff and too old. That’s nothing near to David and Jason. Even Ian is a lot better than that. I’m sorry. But no. He has done a lot better than before. But no. I just can’t.
@@Baal_in_Dark Vageta is a Dragon Ball Z character and yes. Kirk doesn't sound anymore gruff or older than Jason's and David's performances. It is 100% right next to their voices, same with Ian. You don't have to be sorry lol, they're all great and do amazing Shadow voices. He's not "a lot better" he's always been great.
To be fair Boom is shifted down on the image along with X and Prime which suggests they're referencing the popular TV show, not the unpopular games. Despite him only being in like 2 episodes I guess

I’m glad you understood that the history appearances timeline wasn’t meant to be a canon timeline or whatever people misunderstood it as. That would be DC levels of messed up canon right there

They can show it on an "official" timeline as much as they want. Sonic X and Boom aren't canon to the mainline games. Too many things contradict them. Also, shouldn't Sonic X Shadow Generations be after Colors rather than after the IDW Comics and Prime? I mean, you could at least split it if you want Shadow Generations to be after those, but Sonic Generations can pretty much only be after Colors.
I feel like any time shadow sees those red gun goggles he should go full iron man 3 ptsd, would be an interesting angle. They haven't addressed to the best extent just how traumatized he must be.
Don't get your hopes up Silver fans, Emerl will most likely be the 4th playable character. We gotta wait for the year of DUHMAS to be over, before SEGA starts to give a dam about Silver. 🙄
I honestly do genuinely believe they wouldn't he afraid to do another Shadow Game HOWEVER 1. I don't think they would call it Shadow the hedgehog 2 and they would call it Shadow the hedgehog (insert subtitle here) 2. There would be no guns However with that said I don't think they would do that and rather they would continue to mnakje more Sonic Games with multiple playable characters including Shadow

@@tiagocervera5661 I’m sure Spawn and antiheroes like him were inspirations for Shadow for sure, but I really feel like Vegeta also had to have a lot of influence as well given how Trunks was the inspiration for Silver, but maybe Izuka was more hesitant to say that
@@StickmanGuides Also hopefully the Rival series gets more attention if or when they do a Silver Generations campaign. Being 2 of all 3 games Silver has been playable, aside from the racing car stuff.
@@kolkagaming1234 They did 2 episodes for team sonic racing and everyone loves those ones? They did one for Frontiers and Superstars. They're just shorts. It's not supposed to be serious. This shadow one is actually crucial to the lore than the others. The others aren't lazy. Shadows one just has more effort than them because it has to.
There are already two stages from the 06 game that have been remade here. That's really good acknowledgement of it, however if the main antagonist of 06 were to appear here, that would be better.
Hmm… I want a spin off for Shadow… But I’ve been disappointed by Sonic Team way too many times for me to be optimistic… Is Ian Flynn capable of writing a good story for Shadow… yes, We’ve seen his work on Archie… Has the Sonic Team mandate add a monkey ranch to a story… also yes, let’s not forget the metal virus issue and Shadow not thinking straight due to how pissed he was towards Sonic (note: Espio was also pissed at Sonic but was able to still put that behind him in order to be able to help more). Again, I know they are capable of making a great story… but I have no idea how much “dark” story they are allowed to work with…🤔 Edit: I would love to be proven wrong with Shadow generations, the animation and the movie…🥲
