The initial checkout of an Emerson Pryne branded DD-22 22" commercial exhaust fan. It utilizes a 5-amps 1,750 RPM shaded pole motor and is quite powerful for the size. It needs a good cleaning but is otherwise in very good condition.
This will either be mounted on a custom frame that turns it into a portable fan, or potentially utilized as a whole house fan. If I were to cut one through the ceiling I would want something larger, but this is the proper size to fit in the existing hatch as a temporary installation. May be worth exploring in the Spring.
