I'm going to be installing the 57/66 set into my ESP E-II Eclipse DB VB, and this was just the video I was looking for! I liked how you showed everything close up. My guitar came with brushed gold hardware, however, I ordered the regular gold 57/66 set. Hopefully that still looks killer!
Ryan, what is the name/body style of the green guitar on the wall during intro (with neckthru construction)? I believe it's the same style of the one on your shirt. Looks awesome!
How is it wired? I have an ec256 and want to get the Zak Wylde 81/85 set. Will those pots work because they are long shaft I believe. Also how did you connect it? Is it setup with 2 volumes pots and one tone pot? Are the 2 volume pots able to connect to one tone pot? I’m just confused because it’s not like a les Paul with 2 volume and 2 tone. Thanks. Guitar looks and sounds amazing.
@@mr.mikehunt4286 TRUE, they connect just like that with a cable, i put $20 used gold humbucker covers on my Zack Wylde EMG kit (im testing it now) and i love the James Hetfield EMGs more, they come (i mean CUM) in gold lol
@@gabrielraphaelofficial So he is full of it then? cause I see that you can order the pick ups alone but I had no idea you can also replace the covers with out changing the pick up? maybe someone did not know cause I sure didn't.
@@mr.mikehunt4286 Why you say that? i cant find people making videos like this, 20k views tells you this, kudos for the video. I dont think EMG will tell you what i said, they rather avoid the hassle, one commercial set for all. if you dont have EMGs and want gold get the Hetfield set, amazing sound, if its one thing this guy has done over the years its rock arena's with a great awesome god sent guitar sound, people dont realize that he is Metalica, i dont really listen to them or did after meeting Jason who passed away ages ago, but i hear James, feel his amps live when i seen them many times...they are both passive-active, yu cant go wrong with a marshall and Hetfields PUs, try to compare them to other EMG sets i doubt you will deny it.
awesome video Ryan cant wait too see the video to wire EMG's into a passive guitar.... Cant wait too wire my hettys from your shop into my ml2 and take my old EMG 81 and 85 out and put them into my Zakk Wylde Les paul !!!
I have a Greco "elektra" replica coming with some 81/85s in it, will it be this easy to swap in a Het Set or is there the good chance this guitar won't have the solderless connections??
hello I have ltd ec1000 vintage black ... tomorrow I receive emg James hetfield gold .... can I just clip them to the connectors of the 60 80 or do I have to change everything? thank you very much great video
Yup, just unplug the 81/60 and plug in the het set. Make sure the arrow/triangle on the plug is facing the right way. If you reverse it they wont work.
Awesome guitar. @ 11:54 of the sound sample what song is that? I know chappers & lee play it a lot and rob did a lesson on that little jam but I can't find it on RU-vid any where. Do you know? Keep up the awesome work. Love what you guys are doing with affordable quality products.
BarterCross7 little intro to the progression rob used to jam over. Might have been from his EP Red Dream. It's been around for a long time. Very fun to jam A minor blues and A Dorian over.
+OTCRock4one Indeed I did! It did come with the 81/60 stock. Pickup adjustment is very simple the adjust screws raise or lower the heights with tightening or loosening the screw on each side.
Thanks for responding, I have a question: Don't you think the ESP LTD EC-1000 is too thin? I originally, purchased an ESP LTD EC-1000 from SweetWater Music, however when looking at photos of the guitar online, I had no way of ascertaining the thickness of the instrument. When I picked up the box with the guitar inside it felt very light and to my dismay, I found that the body of the guitar was very thin...I really don't like the thin body LTD vs. a Les Paul: 2" thick body, the LTD played beautifully but felt like a toy in my hands, for me, the body was just too thin... Drew at Sweetwater allowed me to return it and I purchased the: ESP LTD EC-1000T/CTM - Snow White which feels more like a Les Paul and has a 2" thick body which I love!
RNA MUSIC Also, I showed my Mom: ESP LTD EC-1000T CTM M BLK Guitar Unboxing. MAPLE! NGD! Video and she thought it was very good and very funny at the same time, "I'm so excited" and "More candy, don't these guy's know I'm trying to lose weight?" that was some really good stuff there! Great video!
+OTCRock4one I agree completely. I like the Chunkiness of the CTM. It's practically a Korean made Les Paul Custom in a way without being an exact carbon copy. I like it a lot.
Ryan can you do a video on how to change passive emgs to active emgs please. I'm thinking about purchasing a Jackson PDX-2 but that comes with the passive emgs instead of the active ones. :(
+GunsnRosesfan2012 I have a video coming soon where I installed some EMG Passives in a guitar, with their solderless system which would be nearly identical to installing the actives. You will need different pots for the actives which usually come with some of the EMG sets.
So I've been dying to have a jh set for a few years now and I was wondering what you thought of putting these (in gold if I can still get them in that color) into an Epiphone Les Paul Ultra cherry sunburst with gold hardware?
Thanks for the video. One question, If the connector is installed to the pickup backwards ( arrow facing the pickup), there is still sound coming from the guitar?
+Abel Moreno You could, it would be a step up on the regular pickups IMO, and later on if you upgrade guitars, take the hettys out and put the originals back in and use the hetfields on the new guitar.
hey i have a dumb queation i wanna install the het set in my jackson js32 dinky BUT it just has 1 volume and 1 tone pot is there a way that i can use the het set knobs also on 1 volume and tone without sottering myself to death ? XD
How do get your fretboard so shiny? I've tried to clean mine and oil mine and they never seem to turn out like this haha. If you'd have any tips I'd appreciate it!
You might want to check and make sure you dont have the connection cable flipped the wrong way where it plugs into the pickup. I've done that and you will get no sound. you want to be able to see the little triange symbol on the connector when it's connected.
+RNA MUSIC ok, the reason I ask is because ok n line the regular gold doesn't look as "gold" as it does in your video but the brushed gold does look more like the ones you installed and I have a Les Paul with gold hardware that has EMG'S and was thinking of putting gold Hetfield set, but wanted to make sure the regular gold was the "gold look"
teh red ones goes fastah?? howd you make a 16min video about a colour change?? at least use something different and cooler. maybe 85x/60x or mustaine livewires...same quickconnect install but at least a change. OR demo how to do it on a strung up floyd rose without touching the tuning (yes possible) thatd help ppl at least.
is it hard to change emg 81 60 in a Ltd ec 1000 vb to a het set I got. or should I just take it to the guitar store to have them do it.I am a novice with task like these.
Patrick Walker yes indeed! I think I have another video changing EMGs as well. Plus EMG has some videos about it to. Simplest possible pickup change out there.
hey ryan! I been trying to find a used set of chrome hets fer my esp-ltd 400 vf? if ya want to sell em, text me for pone number thanks ! Lumpy- Toledo,OH
