"Mary Poppins Returns" and "A Quiet Place" star Emily Blunt and "The Front Runner's" Hugh Jackman's ful conversation for Variety's Actors on Actors presented by Amazon Studios.
Emily Blunt is not just decorative. I mean, she IS decorative, as is Hugh, but she has acting chops aplenty. Edit - so has Hugh Jackman, but talent recognises talent.
What a delightful conversation to listen to. Both Emily and Hugh are truly class acts, with so much integrity, respect and brilliance in their craft. It's hard to find talent like this these days. Also, how darn adorable are they? Such a treat.
I agree with your comment 100% Vicki, I couldn't have put it better. They would be wonderful to watch performing together either on stage or in a movie.
their body language is SO engaged and interested and dignified and respectful this is so genuine and refreshing i am a puddle on the floor this is magic
Yeah it would be interesting alright. He may have to get the seal of approval from his missus Deb since Hugh WAS going to do a movie with Angelina Jolie and she said no way
well the issue is, you wanna listen to the difference between female aussie accents, and female british, (and the male ones too!) and it yet still depends on the region of both. there's enough difference in britain from each dialect, compared to ozland's 5 or so different accents. there is a big difference between both countries, but some accents are kinda similar tbh.
“Nobody wants to be the first person to say yes. Everybody wants to be the second.” Emily Blunt summing up one of the biggest problems with Hollywood. Hate it so much.
"And I'm happy to stay longer just to get this in". Emily and Hugh are wonderfully normal people who have extreme talents. I've always believed those extremely gifted are often nicest, the ones who feel they have something to prove are often cocky.
Fun to watch Emily and Hugh engage in the conversation, almost like they could have this same discussion sitting in a cafe over coffee. Not only are they quality actors but quality people as well. I thoroughly enjoyed this.
The universe will not tolerate this much authentic niceness in one place. Future scientists will mark it as the time and place where reality as we know it was sundered as though it had been asked to divide by zero.
Is that what they said when Hugh Jackman looked up to somewhere behind the camera? I did noticed it was something that he wasn't supposed to do, but I didn't quite catch what was being said. Since he mentioned something about his wife right before that happened I figured she chimed in a bit, but then I wondered why there was that huge glint of annoyance in his look. But if that was what was being said, his reaction makes sense.
I just watched 40+ minutes of Hugh Jackman talking with Emily Blunt, and I'm not the least bit interested in acting. I just find them captivating and interesting. Emily's grace and Hugh Jackman's (branding...lol) class. The liveliness of their conversation and the awkward way they both returned compliments was just adorable. The conversation evolved perfectly. This was not a movie or an episode from a series, it was just Hugh Jackman and Emily Blunt sharing experiences, having a conversation with no obvious jokes, and yet they laughed, smiled and had fun, and I couldn't help but laugh and smile with them. I'm truly satisfied... 40 minutes well spent
@@yehudalanger Highly recommend Viggo Mortensen and Chadwick Boseman! A conversation between the King of Gondor and the King of Wakanda is absolutely 10/10.
These are honestly the most unexpected but legendary duos and this particular here is one of my favs so far 😍 hugh and emily are both great! (also the combination of their australian and british accents is perfect)
Love that Hugh was considerate enough to reassure the producers they would get what they need so he could have his chance to ask what he wanted to know. What a pro.
The best part is when they were talking about a quiet place, it’s just they way they talk about it, it’s the passion for the craft that shines through so clearly. You just know that the two of them are at the top of their game as thespians.
2:17 - Hugh Jackman was so generous and supportive with his praise. That transition from appreciating the original Mary Poppins Julie Andrews to appreciating Emily Blunt was sooooo smooth and wonderful - "Julie Andrews is unbelievable in every single way. YOU are unbelievable in every single way." 💗
Hugh Jackman is just such a kind and lovely man, I'm so glad I already bought tickets to his world tour! (yes, Hugh Jackman totally is doing a world tour with various songs and performances from his career!)
@@wfalls9453 I was also told by someone Hugh's doing a tour and I immediately bought tickets - best Christmas present to myself ever! I hope you were able to purchase tickets as well - have a lovely day ✨
Emily was the perfect choice to play Mary Poppins! I watched it with my 14 year old daughter, 8 year old nephew, and 4 year old niece and all of us had the same huge smile on our face the entire movie! It’s a perfect example of how to bring back a story and a character that iconic after so many years! And Hugh.....I mean come on, he kills everything he’s in!! The guys range as an actor is borderline absurd! I feel like after this interview they’re going to have family dinners with each other once a week or something! I really love this format. You get way deeper answers bc they can relate to each other, not like when a journalist just asks bland repetitive questions and they give the same response over and over!
I don't think I have the words to say how much I enjoyed this. What a breath of fresh air! Two extraordinarily gifted people chatted about their craft in such an insightful, genuine and selfless way. I've watched a few of these Actors on Actors conversations... this is exceptional.
I absolutely LOVE both of them!!!!!!! Thank you!!! Emily Blunt: “You know a great song when you here it cause you think you must have heard it before cause it has an immediate impact on you that you feel that you‘ve lived with it for a while”. - That exactly what I’ve figured out years ago on my own too!
This is the fastest I've ever clicked on something! I love the fact that their conversation flowed so effortlessly that they could have gone on for hours! They are brilliant actors and somebody needs to cast them together in a musical movie/play ASAP.
Such an engaging conversation. I found myself leaning closer to the screen. Such a good choice for a duo. These guys are so so underappreciated for being as talented as they are, even with all the accolades they normally get. Also, yes, Hugh and Emily, please do a musical together.
This is the one of the best interviews Actors on Actors, I've recently seen. Emily and Hugh are great listeners to each other. ❤️ An amazing and genuine exchange of acting experience.
This was the loveliest interview! I love both Emily and Hugh as actors, and even more as people, so bringing them together for a conversation couldn't be a better idea.
One of the best celebrity conversations I've seen by far. I enjoyed this very much. Very refreshing. The universally beloved Hugh Jackman and the incredibly charming Emily Blunt!! Both so genuine, interesting, natural, smart, and funny. Both have depth and have good chemistry. I agree with everyone --they should work together one of these days. Two of the most brilliant and exceptional actors of all time!! 👏🏽🙌👏🏽🙌👏🏽
What a joy to watch these two inspired professionals. I could just watch Emilys hands as she allows them to tease out more layers to what she expresses so beautifully. And how mindful, kind and respectful is Hugh. Long may they be given material to turn to magic!❣️
I love both of these actors! Mr. Jackman, and Mrs Blunt are amazing! He seems such a strong man, with a great head on his shoulders, yet very kind. She seems so beautiful, delicate, yet strong and powerful! She seems so goal oriented, as does he. Very cool people. Great interview...or...yes...interview! Lol
I seriously could have watched these two talk ALL day! This was one of the most real conversations I've ever witnessed on one of these interviews. I fell in love and awe with both these humans today.
These are SO GOOD & FASCINATING to watch!! It’s so much better, more authentic & organic watching two people who are actually actors & understand the job & are actually potentially friends interviewing each other! I LOVE IT!! 🤩👏🏼
I love this conversation! It didn't feel long and Hugh and Emily are just such sweethearts. Genuine people. Thank you for this one. Made my heart happy🤗
Ohmygoodness! Two of my absolute favourite actors in the world - what a a lovely Christmas present! They are both so talented, hilarious, joyful, and genuine.
I've watched (read: tried to watch) a couple other Actors on Actors features and none seem to compare to Blunt and Jackman. Both seem so genuine and truly interested in hearing from the other. It really does feel like the audience has been let in to observe a conversation between two lovely professionals.
I remember taking theatre in college and the energy and enthusiasm my professor had for theatre (he did a lot of on and off Broadway shows). It was exhilarating to see someone with so much creativity, love and passion for theatre but also teaching. Looking at Hugh jackman, I swear to god you just wanna sit and listen to his stories like I did back in college. You can tell how much Hugh jackman loves and enjoys what he does. Great actor.
This was such a beautiful interview of two genuine actors. I was only going to watch 5 minutes but ended up watching the whole thing. Thank you for the video and to whoever made these two wonderful actors to be in the same room.
I'm commenting without watching this video. I'm sure it's the best!!! 2 of my favourite personalities who are human and sane in the maddening Hollywood!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
