I’m from Saudi Arabia, I start listening to Em when I was 10 even I didn’t understand any single word , after I learned English I just felt that this man is the best one ever hold a pen ,
This song means everything to me. This is by far the best Eminem song. If times are hard, I listen to this song and I feel like I can do anything. I feel like I can handle anything. Every word gives me goosebumps. If there is anyone else out there that relates to this song, you aren't alone.
Might be Eminem at his best right here. His word play, flow, delivery, and rhyme scheme is elite on this one. Not too many can touch Em, dead or alive. Lyrically he’s one of the best.
Belak at least you aren’t a typical Stan who can’t accept there’s others on his level or capable. I mean the list is small but it exists. I do agree though he pretty much has every skill mastered
LethalAssassin 17 there’s plenty of other emcees that I would group with Eminem in terms of skill and capabilities. There’s a lot of elite lyricist out there. Rakim, black thought, method man, AZ, kool G just to name a few
@@belak1551 "My Melody" by Rakim is brilliant. "The melody that I'm stylin', smooth as a violin, rough enough to break New York from Long Island." Never heard anyone beat that line. I used to copy out whole sections of that song, because the lyrics were brilliant.
If rap was a Bible, this song alone would be Proverbs. How on earth can you summarise your whole childhood and movie in six minutes? The wordplay, the tempo, the flow, the beat, anyone can relate. I play this song whenever I feel like I'm slacking in life. Gives so much hope. Best song by him no doubt.
One of the best songs from old to fucking new and he's coming out with a new album soon I don't know the name so don't ask and he made a song with Elton John again
I could tell the story of that movie in 30 seconds. I recently watched it for the first time and was amazed with how simplistic and short its story was.
PLUS he wrote this shit WHILE FILMING the actual movie, when he had 10-15 mins of breaks he would sit down on the floor and write the whole OST for 8Mile, true artist there.
Not only Americans listen to Eminem. There’s no comparison to this artist and nor anyone will be like him in our life time. I’m so glad I witnessed everything while he still alive.
@@WyWid Wouldn´t say it's clearly the best, but it's definitely, criminally underrated, there's loads of people who just think 8 mile is only the film. A hidden gem for sure.
This is the most motivating song I have ever heard, and I just relate to it so much! I was rejected from more than 10 jobs and still applying, but this song just gives me so much energy! We all will find what we want my friends, just gotta get through this rough stage. Stay safe and take care!
@@sonnyred3800 stay strong brother! I am at the similar path as you are. Right now strugling with job that is good, but surely not the best. It gives me everything that I need, but nothing that I really want. I am sure you will so the right thing and find something that you enjoy doing. Stay strong and stay yourself and with time and dedication, everything that you ever wanted will come true. Good luck!
I got every ingredient All I need is the courage Like I already got the beat All I need is the words Got the urge Suddenly its a surge Suddenly a new burst of energy has occurred I'm no longer scared now I'm free as a bird
The train horn at the beginning always reminds of my childhood, an actual train arriving with a load of nostalgia releasing this song in my head. Thanks for this masterpiece!
Same here, it reminds me of when I was a teenager and everyone was asleep while I was up in the AM upping up my computer skills. A train would always sound off in the distance.
The train passing is used as the beat for the song as well. It's an amazing song and one of my favorites of his with Stan, guilty conscience, and monster.
Lowkey one of the best Em song. Insane flow and cadence, incredible storytelling and rhymes. Just think about how hard is to rhyme sentences witch are actually connected to each other but keeping the same cadence for 6 minutes... its godlike. Easily top5.
+Ryan692 The first time I ever heard this song was on your piano cover. Just listened to this for the first time and I can tell you you've done an amazing job to make it fit on the piano that I think I like your version better!
Ryan692 its better then lose yourself. Eminem murdered this song like he does anything he gets on. But this is my top 5 best songs of all time from eminem or any artist.
A masterpiece. The beat, lyrics, flow, delivery, rhyming, everything is just phenomenal! Highly underrated. Probably on the same level as Lose Yourself.
It's kinda sad just hardcore em fans know this song, I love Lose Yourself, but this this song is almost at Lose Yourslef's level, and it's not even close in popularity as that one. Oh well I guess lose yslf it's way more motivational and ""pop""
Yeah Lose Yourself was better tbh but this is way too underrated. I Love this Song So much But Somehow Dumbass people only Know Eminem's Most famous songs I mean this song is a 9/10 And Lose Yourself is 10/10 But even if it's 9 it Still didn't get half the fame *Lose Yourself* Did. But Great to see people coming back to this song too Such a Brilliant song.
@@SHADYLYRIX İ like this more, when i was ten i found eminem and started listening all his songs, i liked lose yourself too but this song is always in top 5 for me for some reason especially the last verse. this and sing for the moment i used to listen these 2 all day long eleven years ago hoooly shit. i didnt even know english back then but still got hooked.
@@mehmetabdullah250 Tbh any Eminem song can get you to run a Eminem marathon For me the list is 1.Lose Yourself. 2.Sing For the Moment. 3.Buffalo Bill. 4.Not Afraid. 5.Till i Collapse. But tbh no matter what Eminem song is anyone's fav i think Everyone can agree he's the best Rapper.
For me every song has soul and spirit, which is created by writer and composer, there dedication... and it becomes the song of life to people who depressed and down. I must say this Album took me out of my depression and gave me the courage to do wat i gotta do... been there done that. Thank you Eminem
There is no song by Eminem that I don't absolutely love! Nearly every one of his songs has a message that I can relate to in one way or another and the ones that don't, I may not be able to relate however I can understand to some extent what he is going through because of the way he puts it. He really knows how to relay a msg while entertaining the world. The song survival is definitely top three for me. Eminem is an absolute Beast! Much love and God bless. Eminem, thank you for sharing your talent with the world. Your songs have gotten me through so much I just only wish you knew!
@@humanbeing4492 that one is an absolute masterpiece, no other rapper would dare to write a fresh song that lyrical and funny (which is a diss towards the media) and put it as the opening song of the greatest hits album.
I was listening to this when I was was bullied from guys from our village when I was about my 15-17 years old.. and it always gave me great feelings and feel of strenght.. Thank You Em from my heart..
Eminem=RapGod, Slimshady=Psychopath, Marshall=Heartbreaker. This makes Eminem Special , so many different faces, lyrics and flows. He is just incredible
I like that people relate whatever is their struggle to this song, nobody judges about what, why, how. We just now that you're going through the stuff and we back ourselves up.
This song helped me guarantee my future when I was a teen .. In my country, Iran, you have to take a national university exam to enter grad school competing with hundreds of thousands of students just like you to get the chance and be among the few hundreds who go to good public universities for free ... You only had 250 minutes to dump all the knowledge you got in 4 years of high school ... only one shot! It doesn't matter if you're sick that day or you get to seat under a window without a shade ... I was way behind my competition ... ranking 2000+ in preliminary exams just 3-6 weeks behind the final exam day ... The Judgment Day ... This song plus "Loose Yourself" and "Run Rabbit Run" helped me fight back to go after what I deserved ... I had listened to these songs Evey Day and every hour to motivate myself and not give up! I ended up ranking 121 among the Nation and entered the best school without having to pay a dime! 15 years from then ... I have realized another dream ... I'm here in U.S. , secured 3 graduate degrees so far and now working for a fortune 6 company ... NEVER EVER GIVE UP! A true story and a message from heart to all young people who want to change things for the better.
everytime when I feel like the world is pressing me down the moment I listen to this song it just pull me back to my fighting strength, I really love this song. thanks for the upload.
Just one of many proofs Em is a rap genius. The flow on this has anyone who is sitting alone (or maybe not) sliding their head from side to side. And the realness and amount of the lyrics are completely off the chart. 6 fuckin' minute song! And it never drags, just steadily gains momentum. IN YOUR FACE!
I am glad that Em' got me through my tough childhood ( I am 30 today)! I feel bad for kids nowadays who are going through the same thing and doesn't have someone as we had Em' back in time to count on! Kids if you are watching this, his songs can help you! At least they did help me not to commit suicide!
Man he spitting forever on this track. The lyrics are insane and it's like he could just rap forever. Look at how long he spits and makes it look so easy and listen to rappers today and it's just not even close with spitting actually lyrics versus damn near the whole song being the hook. Em is just a beast!
@@psychokiller5959 they have over produced, over-mixed, over-sampled music, that is generic and aged poorly. this song 8 Mile has at least unique train sample, i can´t think of ANY other song with sample like that. and the story telling is beyond anything. Eminem changed this genre, HU are not even close to the best era of Eminem.
@@jackcravford8744 Eminem forces his political views on his fans it's either they like Trump and they banned from listen to his music or they support Biden and can continue to listen to his music I could pick up several songs that have true meaning in Hollywood Undead Young off their first record Swan songs been to Hell off their second record we are off the third record Dark places off their fourth record I can't really think of anything that's going to go with 5 so I'm just going to skip five nightmare off of Empire volume 1 Monsters featuring killstation their sixth record I don't know they all came from broken homes but so did Eminem
@@psychokiller5959 8 mile, Rabbit Run and Lose Yourself does not have anything political. Speaking about that, Young is actually AGAINST the whole system and the music video is about taking down some kind of dictator. I am not a fan of political music either, but this song, Lose Yourself, Rabbit Run and lot of others are definition of this music at its finest. Insane story telling, no fillers, every line sounds unique. And the reason why i cant stand HU is cause they are forcing their ego through music, it sounds so toxic to me to hear how they are fucking haters and stuff. I guess it depends on the situation. I am not facing any haters and i don´t feel the way how they are mirroring it. I can much more relate to this song, 8 Mile cause it sounds ordinary like from real life situation. And let´s not start talk about the production, mixing, music itself, rhyme scheme and vocal delivery. HU sounds so poor and cheap compared to this song or Rabbit Run or Lose Yourself. You can´t even compare these songs with the best in hip hop music, cause they are one of the most unique songs out there. If not, then i am open to see similar songs like 8 Mile with unique train sample.
I really don't know why but I also associate the sound with my childhood. I don't know if it comes from this song or something deeper but it'd like a massive flood of flashback memories every time I hear it
I'm not gonna lie I've been playing bottom of the barrel 4A football and when I just get passed over by some of the coaches or when I can't get my shit down I get pissed and this song is so god damn relatable. That feeling when you get rejected it eats at you and unless you know how to get pissed enough to push yourself to the brink to get better it will devour you.
Everything about this song is just right - the tempo, the back sounds, the lyrics, the melody - everything. And also, it is very much relevant to me personally at this point in time.
Damn,I can't believe 8 mile road came out 17 yrs ago. Only 22. Anyhow, this is no doubt EM'S greatest hit he ever created. Wasn't popular on 8 mile road album like "lose yourself.". But,this is definitely up there like "Rabbit run."
This is simply one of the greatest songs ever in hip hop and just in general. It resonates with the human spirit in such a profound way and is beautifully written and conveyed. Raw emotion and pure motivation. Eminem at his absolute greatest.
So, I think we all know Eminem is a fucken genius. For me the Marshall Mathers LP is such a chimaera of a thing - screaming dark poetry into the formless void; a shot of adrenaline and vitriol straight to the fucken heart. But having been given the creative opportunity to step away from himself and to get outside his own mind, Eminem's work on 8 Mile, through (amongst other things) its ability to remain separate and controlled, achieves a kind of universality greater than his more directly personal work (which, though brilliant, carries the injury of his proximity to it). Just that small step of separation between the art and the actuality allows Em's 8 Mile work an incredible freedom, and (in my humble opinion, obviously) makes it amongst the best work he has ever done. I love the whole soundtrack, but Rabbit Run is flawless.
This boy can make any good man cry, I'm listening to him on the train back home from Oakland to San José and yes it's still 2024 but boy that magic will never go out of style, today's artists will never achieve that. Thanks M
This song held me down through the worst times, it’s almost funny, listening to this song now, everything I ever felt turned out to be okay and I ended up making it in my own lane. I still have so much to go but I walked my own damn mile to this song. 🔥🔥
I remember when the movie first came out. I was 16 & after me n my boyz watched it in the theaters, it changed our life. Everybody was battling again & shit. We blasted this track all day especially the instrumental. Those were the days.
I only wish I could thank him in person. Grew up on Eminem.. Little kid from India.....feelin this shit. Grew up on it and jus happen to talk this way. The world will mourn this man when he's gone... Thank you sir.
this is one of ems best songs ever completely underrated . lose yourself was good but nothing compared to this, between run rabbit run and this some of his best work ever
We've all played this when life dealt us the most fucked up cards... And we all bounced back up and won those battles... The energy that's packed in this 6 minutes track can get us through any shit that comes our way... Thank you 2002 Eminem. One love from India.
This was the day I ran away from home... "I'm sorry momma, but I'm not following your footsteps, I'm making my own" That's the day I couldn't go back to my home... I was in an abusive household, I know every word from this song. He gave me a reason to live when I wanted to die. "Don't be afraid to make mistakes and loose everything you have because when you have nothing you have everything to gain." - That's what I learned from this song. That's how I was able to make the leap and change everything I had wrong in my life. Now I'm happily living on my own, on my way to graduating :-) no more violence in my life.
