I think Marky Mark was trying to be the next biggest white rapper and it deadass wasnt taking off. Eminem was becoming HUGE and everyone knew it-including Walberg. Recounting this interview, Em said he was trying to be kind to Walberg but other dude iced him out and its probably bc his music dreams just died the second Em became the TRL darling. Eminem also came off as a jerk when really he wasnt. It was just his “homeboy” persona. Mark couldnt get away with that and was probably mad ab everything Eminem was. Eminem was indeed the biggest rap artist around who achieved to skyrocket in hip-hop. I really don’t care about color but I will say the dude was able to rap his ass off. Mark put out good stuff too but he didn’t really have that jump like Em had being signed to Dr. Dre under Aftermath, who made him what he is today for his incredible producing skills. I don’t think Em would be where he is now if it weren’t for Dre being one of the biggest rap legends around.

@joemomma707 so mark was part of a rap group called Marky mark and the funky bunch, however at this point he was starting his acting career, so his manager had asked eminem not to mention the funky bunch at all because they were worried it could taint his acting career if lots of people thought he was still associated with rap. Eminem saw how disrespectful mark was in his introduction, showing a cold handshake and not even making eye contact, so of course eminem goes right to his own form of disrespect in mentioning the funky "bunch"
that's due to Mark being a fraud attempt at Rapping like so many before him! Coming out on performances with a 'Crew' to make it seem legit with stage dancers and fake mixers paid to nod and pay a pound or too for each coming out. Yes, I heard the entirety of Infinite before the Marshall Mathers LP was out. I just don't count it because that wasn't the one that projected him to stardom, and while it had it's moment it just wasn't as good as the rest.
