@@shaq4506 look there's no denying what Em has done in hip-hop he will be a everlasting element to hip-hop till the end of humans being on this Earth, sold more albums then any hip-hop artist to date but that's besides the point when it comes to lyrical slaying he's on a level that's far and few these are just facts regardless of the color of his skin real will always recognize real and if you don't recognize your not being real. there's a lot of hate just like 50 said there's a person in the industry that's white that does it better then everybody.. that being said Em is in my top 3 Nas is still my #1 but in lyrical shootout I might have to go with Em
Eminem is a lyrical genius...but that line was basic, almost corny to be precise. I'm a huge Eminem fan. I think his wordplay and flow are otherworldly. I find his punchlines corny.
My favorite rappers ever, Tech N9ne and Eminem. I wanna say, in terms of technical skill, like the cadences and rhyme schemes, there's really nobody fucking with Tech, in terms of lyrical skill, like the wordplay, nobody's really fucking with Em. They're the pinnacle of rap in my opinion and they're the most ambitious, consistent and constant as well, being OGs in the game
@@ongjoon9173 Superb choice of words, Tech literally calls himself the pinnacle on Worldwide Choppers! And we know he has mad respect for Em lol. Idk if that was on purpose but nice anyways!
Such a flex, especially since he tends to cut tracks right at the end of his verse. Bu this verse was so hard and he knows it , so he needed to let it sink in for a bit at the end.
Spit Your damnedest You're still gonna hit the canvas Ignoramus You triggered the hippocampus Veterans to whippersnappers Mr. Mathers killing this shit
@I’m Discombobulated Because I had a glimmer of hope that this might actually be good, so I wanted to check it out, but mannn was I disappointed lol nah, it's actually not that bad but no way near the old Em, as the OP suggested
3:37 Man, this part gives chills, because of how eerie and atmospheric it sounds. The piano melody and crescendo right before the end of each paragraph in the background is such a genius touch. You've gotta appreciate that. Then you listen to the lyrics and it's even better. This is my favorite song of the year.
I love the classical music elements in Em's music. Whether it's the early stuff with the Bass Brothers or with other producers he worked with later on.
I memorized all the lyrics from this time and forward. When I heard this flow my ears caught it and it stuck. Idk why but this flow sounds like, idk how to describe it.
*sigh* Look man I know you don’t know any better but please look up NY State of Mind and Represent by Nas. DJ Premier is a legend, please don’t sleep on him anymore. No hate if you do but it’s legitimately sad that this dude is one of the most important producers to Hip Hop and he’s so forgotten he’s just “the DJ”. That’s like calling Buckethead “the guitar player” or Kenny G “the sax player”.
@@monkeydluffy983 all I spit from my skull is fire ( a flaming skull) all that's missing is a motorcycle with the chrome wires spoke tires (the ghost rider has a motorcycle) why they call me a ghostwriter (ghost rider) basically flaming skull that has a motorcycle aka ghost rider
@@getthefuckout-lo3ib check out "Marvel" by Diabolic. He comes pretty damn close as far as wordplay and most importantly, metaphors. But, facts- this is insane. It took me a few listens to really tap into it, because I wasn't feeling the beat at first, and now, I can't stop listening to it lol
@@sofialyric freaking dope wordplay. Em pronounced old times like Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's is a disease which causes brain damage over time (hence slow death).
You know when em drops an album and you get that one track that you can’t stop hitting repeat , repeat , repeat...... ye well this is that track !!!!!!!!! 🔥
Snoop doesn't realize what he did to himself. We all know this wont be the last time Em is gonna diss him, we all know when you piss him off he will never stop dissing you regardless if your relevant or not.
When DJ Premier start scratching it always gives me nostalgia and chills because I'm a person who loves 90s hip-hop I love 90's music. So it just makes me think of that era where lyrics really meant a lot to the MC
I hate when people say current or old. Like haters use that against him. It’s same fucking person man. It’s longevity that matters. He always been a goat.
The intro at the start may be pointed at Snoop. Snoop has a song named Ups & Downs and it's hook goes like: "There will be ups and downs, smiles and frowns" And Em says: "I don't smile, I don't frown, get too up or get too down I was here, so were you, you came and went, I stuck around" And then goes on to say your opinion doesn't count, sooo may be...
The song from 3:34 till the end gives me so many feelings I can't even explain, specially the ending and the piano sounds and everything holy shit dude
His 2 last albums are so gawdamn lyrical... ppl say Em is past his prime blah blah blah, but he’s punchlines, vocab, and rhyme schemes have evolved so damn much
I would say that he told less about his life being that I feel he said his piece, which some wanted more likely Eminem Show or Mather LP. Don't get me wrong if you are writing your own conscience bleeds through regardless. Though In my opinion he spoke more about his opinions, as they relate to world events. And showcased his wordplay and lyrical acrobatics more. Wit in punchlines and also stayed cohesive even with extended multisyllabic rhyme. High brow humor occasionally you needed to be either already knowledgeable or you will find somethings not really being related. He has addressed this before that not everyone can catch it. that he eventually circled back around to somethings to tie loose ends. And also the meanings being multiple entendre. and still behaving with people that only can perceive it how they understand. yet getting multiple messages across in a direct and/or sarcastic also even a joking way I feel in some instances. that isn't always passive aggressive but just for the sake of it being a witty observation. Like being a rich democrat. Or some off hand shit. I found it amusing, thought provoking, insightful, and incredibly ingenious. I am certain I still haven't deciphered some of it, is incredibly dense and I didn't research topics or people I have no interest in even if they were mentioned. So this would be glowing praise except I am not sure that any of it had a song that I will say is classic because of how much I relate. Of course maybe in time I may. Others might already, but I can turn on Rock Bottom, or Drug Ballad, Phenomenal, No Apologies, Cinderella Man, Lose Yourself, Not Afraid, Toy Soldier, in summation "My Band" /W D12 even resonates with me better and I have never had a band, I just can understand that frustration. And I feel that it is honesty, thinly veiled with humor and pot shots at each other. Maybe someone can recommend a song lately by Em that isn't just his being slick for the sake of it.
@@stunna4vegas371 are you still listening to it? It is undoubtedly an excellent song I don't know if it's one of Eminem's best songs but it is certainly very good
When that beat switch it's just a whole different level. It's so different of a flow then any other rapper. He really is a rap god. No other rapper can make you bang your head like em
People who's sleepin' on Em's new music are missing it big time. It's a gust of wind that runs between the smog caused by music losing passion and becoming a money making-soulless industry. I'm grateful Marshall for giving me the strength to get of the ropes when there's so much darkness, I feel as if I've became blind and cornered, I admire your constant fight with your demons.
This is ONE of THE BEST HIP HOP SONG Ever made!!!!! The construction of it.The way he changes flows and voice in accord with the content of every single versé and bridge is insane!!! This man is an ABSOLUTE GENIUS!!! No doubt about it!!!
This track is the hardest piece of hip hop i have ever come across. The schemes, the flow switches, the multi syllable rhymes, the references, the beats and the scratching. Fucking fire.
He just keeps going up levels. I don't know how it's possible. I give up putting the double entendures in the comment section because every fucking thing he says is fire. Any song he makes has more words than a drake album. Em IQ is rediculous! I feel sorry for his brain 😂
@@oj818 ohh... Sorry it will take me at least a month to learn truly about half of the songs and memorise then all 😣 But yeah that was a hell of a roast to haters
Dude is on another level. The album is straight 🔥 I've never heard anyone rap like this. He probably blows his own mind. Lol I mean wow 😆 he is a lyrical genius. No one has ever rapped like this and I've been listening to rap for over 30 years.
This has been a collab i've always wanted and it delivered like crazy. I wish Em and Premier would do a whole album together where we get dope features like Nas and Andre 3000. Anyways, glad Em is still releasing music.
If your a real hip hop head live for lyricists and wordplay how can you put anyone above em even if he ain’t your number one he’s top 5 just outta respect still as sharp man this guys been top of his game for two decades 🔥
