Everyone seems to miss the powerful imagery when he gets up and walks into the stage full of lights (cameras). He's no longer alone in the darkness -- shooters get prime coverage and sensationalized. This ENTIRE thing was a masterpiece.
Nope, that was my favorite scene. I think it also says "just because I'm rich, famous, and have all these fans, doesn't mean that, even I, don't feel alone in the darkness...at least at times in my life."
Props for being a genuine reaction. Off the bat. This is how the song is meant to be heard, you went for the ride, taking the artist approach and then got hit with the twist like a thriller. Full double meaning all the way through. Fire!
They aren't the Fake LawTwinz now are they. 😂 Once you hear the twist this song HAS to be replayed immediately from the new perspective, he laid down so many breadcrumbs it was genius.
I don’t understand how people are saying that this glorified gun violence. It clearly doesn’t. It’s going over what might be going on in these peoples heads, and the struggles of the modern world.
It's a bunch of butthurt people, just trying to find a reason to diss a track Em did. Next they will do some inhumane shit and blame it on his song like we are in the 90's, looking for a payday.
I don’t see any of that, I see people saying “em bitching about guns, how guns kill people but walks around with 4 armed security guards” but like.....
People who didn't listen to the lyrics nor understand the creativity that was put into this. The lyrical depth of this song to bring EM's own personal mental struggle/addiction to one of a killer....insane. This goes deep with everything EM dealt with in his past. Something that goes unnoticed on the outside to others as that individual deals with their own darkness.
I'm so glad someone said this. It was driving me insane that they weren't catching on to that. Literally the WHOLE song is from 2 perspectives at once.
this song is a comparison between him and a massive murderer, that’s why this is so crazy, this song is so intricate. It blows my mind almost every single line is a double entendre.
Ryan Fowler dis song actually bout his personal life while at the same time talking bout shootings like the Ariana Grande shooting. That’s what the video showin....💯🚫🧢
I live in Vegas and I started putting the picture together pretty fast. This song was really deep and creative in so many levels. You're right that it's crazy he used his platform to speak to millions of people.

The homie Em really described preparing for a concert and preparing to shoot up a concert with the same exact words. Told two stories it’s crazy. Edit: it came out on my big bro’s Birthday much love
At the end it kinda lost me, but after a few more listens the verse about how he killed himself and not sure for what reason he did what he did. I understood he was referring to the effort that he puts on stage without a sure of the motive. MIND BLOWN!
Everyone keeps missing the hecklers line. “I got ammo for all the hecklers” meaning he’s got shit to say for the people who are heckling him, and ammo for all the heckler and Koch guns. Maaaaaan
@Salim Ibrahim They didn't even know what to say to qualify their theory. They just mumbled themselves through the explanation. They still have a lot to learn.
Em is the 🐐. He says “that’s a double entendre” in the first verse very quietly. But the whole song is a double meaning and a message at the same time. Only something he could do.
Its a triple entendre.. Eminems own mind is alonr in the darkness, he's trying to pull us in with him. He's always done this. Since "SSLP". He doesn't even know why. "You'll never find a motive." "They'll never figure me out." Its been 20 years and we still haven't, so he's finally telling us. This is it, his entire life in one song.
This whole song is a Double entendre. He’s speaking from the perspective of him preparing to perform, and from the perspective of the Las Vegas shooter. Crazy genius.
I really love how in the beginning, you can sympathize with the character he's portraying. It forces you to realize that these people who mass murder are just as human as us, and that is a scary thought. It could be your neighbor, it could be your nephews best friend in high school, it could be your lawyer. Everyone has the potential to snap, but mental health isn't taken very seriously in America. If enough people really cared, perhaps it could change. I'm not defending anyone who does these horrible horrible things, by the way. I just find that making these people out to be monsters, less than human is more harmful than accepting that humans can be like this. If you recognize this, you can try to help prevent it more. Idk i'm kinda rambling now.
Exactly this. Him telling his story and the shooter with the same words is a powerful way to show exactly what you said. We could all be close to the line and it may not take much to cross it.
No these are monsters. I don't sympathize with them. Mental illness or no, you're a grown ass adult and you know its wrong. And instead of seeking help, coming out saying they are wanting to do things like this they go through with it. Inexcusable. Even if they weren't monsters before, they certainly were after they did it. Not just any kind of human is capable of this. Only certain kinds. Mental illness is a problem and should be addressed. But I don't sympathize with killers under any circumstances and they should not be shown any ounce of leniency. Crazy or not.
@@pariscarla822 "In the beginning you can sympathize" you know, before dude went all mass murderer and shit. Of course people who actually commit such atrocities should not be shown sympathy. I don't know where in my post you got the idea that I thought otherwise.
This type of shit is the reason why Eminem will always be my favorite artist of all time no matter how hard he falls off in the future. Nothing he does can discredit what a great artist he is. It takes someone with immense talent to pull off these kind of continuous double entendres, and he does it so discreetly. This song made me get kinda emotional. Partially because of the significance of the message, but partially because it reminded me why I will always be a loyal Stan.
Darius Eatmon I’m with you. I’m a metal head but Eminem is my favourite artist because he’s unique , a genius. The way he can arrange words , the message he wants to deliver is just crazy. It’s another level of expressing feelings and thoughts.
I was there when the shooting started, the only thing I was thinking about was my family, after the worst moments in my life had ended I found my little brother lying on the ground and the blood tired the little face. This song means a lot to me and I will never stop hearing it .. @@MorbidNights158 of course not.. Em does the whole double entendre thing much better than I did because he tied it really brilliantly with his life. My single is an anti-drug single which speaks on how artist's influence their listeners. Feel free to give it a shot! Eminem has always been one of my greatest inspirations!
Bro for a second I thought y’all wouldn’t get the Las vegas reference 😂😂😂. Once the hood was off and y’all didn’t catch It I almost gave up. Glad you got it tho Hahaha
The “Hello darkness my old friend “ phrase belongs to the song “Sound of silence” from Simon and Garfunkel corrected me if I’m wrong if it is Eminem was so smart to use it because that song talks about how bad we were as a society in the 60’s....
Correct on the nod to Sound of Silence, but I interpret the Sound of Silence a little differently. That song, to me, represents society's inability to foster effective communication. It is not limited to the '60s, but is just as applicable today. This, interesting enough, can also be a double entendre to Em's music and society. Em feels like people don't fully grasp the deep meanings within his music, but instead takes them at face value. This has devolved the rap industry to just making noise instead of communicating a message ("people talking without speaking"). On a societal level, failure to communicate and be heard can have devastating consequences from mental health to legislative failure at passing wide sweeping reformative legislation.

This is a masterpiece from Eminem- and i really liked how you broke it down even though you catched it late- that made it even more real and i think, you made the double meaning really clear- and thats waht it is about! It makes it relatable! Great reaction video!
the whole song is a double entendre. A mind of a shooter(Las vegas shooting incident to be specific) and a mind of a performer. Who can do that? whoooooooo??? no one but em😑
Mannnnnnn.. I came just to see the look on your faces when you realized this was the Vagas shooter situation..... The whole song is a double entendre.... This is one of the deepest pieces of work, he has to date. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
lol drake is also a good rapper just because eminem is better doesent mean that drake cant also be good, maybe stop listening to his pop shit and listen to his 5am in toronto type shit, 4pm in calabasas, jodeci freestyle, all of IFYRITL
RevelStatus / you’re an ignorant EM has no problem with drake and EM also rap about money and bitches back in the day and Drake has really great songs so stop being so fucking jealous from drake i think ya’ll white EM fanboys giving to much hate too drake because drake doing way much better then EM statistically
antj2k1 / He had seven songs on the top 10 billboard chart and with that he brook the beatles he had on my feelings almost a year on the top 10 even if on my feeling is trash and sounds like a pop song u can’t deny the truth it’s a huge accomplishment even with Kamikaze the scorpion done better numbers and i think that’s why y’ll Eminem fan boys giving to much hate for drake because right now he’s doing way better then EM you can’t stand that u seeing drake toping charts and taking all the awards even though Eminem completely respect drake and has no problem with him so u constantly denying drake’s quality with his music
He’s also is telling his story, compared to a suicidal shooting, being a star and having fans can force one’s psychological experience to be very dark. He’s too gifted.
“You can’t murder a show nobodies at” just caught that line my 3rd time listening. From a performers standpoint murdering a show is having it be crazy successful, but the double meaning is he’s gonna shoot it up, actually murdering the show. Holy shit em.
Did anyone else notice how Eminem samples “Hello darkness my old friend” from Sound of Silence? The moment I heard it I paused the track to make sure my feels were in check.
If you look at the video the calls of his violent reaction prescription pills alcohol and gun three these elements will cause a mass shooting so I got from it
12:30 they finally catch the real meaning of the video. This songs way deeper than just another rap video. Prayers out to the families effected by these crazy times. Hope y’all hit a Million soon. Thanks for the content guys. Liked/Subbed
They understood the meaning before realizing it was Las Vegas shooting. I’m sure they still understood that the song is a double meaning for Eminem and the shooter, they just didn’t link it to that event.
Stop with the "they got it slow" bullshit. I love that everyone just took a different lane towards the same idea of the song. Kudos to LawTwinz for posting the raw reaction

I had the opposite reaction when I watched this video a couple lines in I realized it was about the Las Vegas shooting and I noticed a lot of the word play and just thought of it as Eminem's god level wordplay and not until I listened to it later that I was like Ooooh shit this is also describing him getting ready for a show and how the whole song keeps a sustained double entendre while still maintaining insane wordplay and rhyme schemes.🤯🤯🤯
same. I realized right away it was about the Las Vegas shooter. but rewatching it, I realized it's also about him preparing to perform. genius as usual.
EM also goes into the mental & addictions he struggled with earlier in his life. There is so much creativity in this song that it deserves to be analyzed. I listened to this song 4-5 time and caught most of the double meaning but had to get others perspectives as well. I didn't catch the ammos for the Hecklers line. Hecklers are a type of gun...Just wow.
Literally been waiting all day for this notification to pop up on my phone.. Em is killing the game as usual. I listened to the whole album audio only this afternoon, to see the video now just emphasizes his message. Super proud of Em using his platform to create a historical movement.
Leave it to Em to take a haunting melody like "Sound of Silence" and make a masterpiece like this. And a perfect message to send with that kind of tone
That whole part of this song is going over everyone's heads and I'm just over here getting chills every time I listen knowing the backbone to that song and how he just related it to all of this 🤯🤯🤯🤯
@@mrboomboombop well the whole song of The Sound of Silence is making reference to the status quo and how people know there's an elephant in the room regardless of the topic (here it is gun control laws) and how nobody actually speaks out, or calls out the issue. And honestly there's even so much deeper meaning just in The Sound of Silence itself, let alone intertwining it into Em's song. This man is brilliant 🙌🙌
Good job @LawTWINZ I was waiting for that moment to see your reaction when you finally realized what this was truly all about.. It also through me for a loop the first time I saw this video. Good shit, fellaz.
I'm here 4 mins in and they're just reacting to the bars being blown away. I can't wait unti they really what this song REALLY means. 12 mins in lol. They finally got it after they got fed the info. Man I've been on pins and needles waiting on them to realize how literal he was being while still spitting fire. This song is too powerful
Another part that I love in this song: “nobody’s at, no body shows.” If no one is there, there won’t be any bodies. I feel like that can be a double, too. Maybe. Someone else mentioned that my thoughts go hand in hand, with the hook, because: “He doesn’t want to be alone in the darkness, so, the more people he kills, and bodies he takes with him, the less alone he will be.”
I had to see the end to know what story he was trying to tell. Then I seen the video from the beginning knowing it was about the last Vegas shooter then I appreciated the video more
Hey guys, just a few words of appreciation heading your way from a gal in Sweden. I really enjoy watching your reactions and I'ma tell you why. I first came across your channel about a year ago when wanting to understand the battle between Em and MGK better (or, damn was that even two years ago? Anyways...). A few days ago I was happily surprised to see you guys in my RU-vid-recommendations, and that you were gonna react to this vid (and later on to all the other tracks on Eminem's new album!) - so I finally started checking you out a bit more, watching through these new Em-vids and a few older vids of yours - because, and here goes: It's fun to see your... well... your reactions, obviously - and then I mean the facial expressions; the genuine surprised ones, the ones filled with excitement and the thoughtful ones, the looks you give each other, to mention a few. Above all it's interesting and even educating (and impressing, I gotta say!) hearing you break down the lyrics sentence by sentence or even word by word, specially for me who isn't an English native speaker and often miss phrases with double meaning where half the point (aka the whole point?) goes over my head - so thanks for making me get it haha. It makes the song even better to me and the respect for the artist grow even bigger when realizing how much thought actually has gone into the lyrics. Often I barely notice everything that is being said/rapped/sung - and how you guys even could hear actual sentences in the last bit of the Godzilla song def goes over my head haha... Also, the comments on your vids is usually *thumbs up* to read as well, so keep on encouraging us (or well, not me obviously, but the more perceptive ones hehe) to add insights and interpretations of the lyrics..! Jeez, thanks a lot if you even bothered to read through this essay long comment haha.. And yes, don't know why it took me so long but now I HAVE clicked on subscribe, so please - keep up the good work! ;) ~ Edit: Oh, and here's a Swedish song with a few big local artists if you'd find that fun or interesting to check out. Old song but still relevant artists. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Bj5WozNl4ik.html Btw, have you listened to/watched MGK's Glass House? Would be interesting to hear your thoughts on it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RRcXtqamWWM.html
The whole time you were thinking about Eminem talking about himself then the song takes a turn and hes talking from the shooters perspective. This is VINTAGE EM!
@@sithumdesilva6162 He's rapping about the shooter, the entire time. It just doesn't become obvious till like the halfway, or two thirds mark. I remember hearing it, without the video... and it didn't click until it was about busting a window\

@@radtalon6079 at first i thought the last couple lines were only about the shooter but if you apply it to Ems life it makes sense. "By the time its over, it wont make the slightest difference." meaning this song wont stop people from doing mass shootings, so why even try?
@@radtalon6079 the one i dont see anyone mention is when he says "Surprise outta nowhere! Finger on the trigger, Goin Keiser sosa!" 2nd time watching this reaction. I will say this, I've been an Eminem fan since day 1. I remember the first time they ever played "hi my name is" on the radio. This guy will never be duplicated. The way he did this is nothing less than magical and genius. It gives me goosebumps. Sad that one day there will be no more content coming from this man but I don't think that'll be anytime soon. Great reaction video also.
I respect you two for this being a true first reaction. It was AWESOME to see the penny drop, that moment when you realised not only what it was also about BUT also that it was about both stories the whole time! Fking awesome! I’m so proud of Em for this. I love his vulnerability is this and I love the message. What an amazing artist. This is one to be remembered.
Alex Frost lara I’m sorry but anything with black thought Qtip and Royce could never be ass. It has a old school vibe and maybe that’s not your thing but those lyrics are not ass.
youll never hear an artist go on so many levels like this one song does talking bout himself the shooter and anyone else thats going threw some shit this is why em will be the greatest of all time period
