One of the best performances, in my opinion, of this two great rappers of our days, Eminem and Jay Z, together. Here is Renegade, from the album Blueprint, recorded in 2001.
@@diiisk i followed Eminem since i was 13 and he lost this voice after 2006, his voice is not even close to what it was before, just look at all the albums he dropped after his rehab
@@Pannkakaize man, I listen to Eminem since 1999, when I was 5 years old, my sister got me a CD and from that moment, I recognized M's voice changes throughout his career, from forgot about Dre to Killshot, live or Studio, the voice got the same depth and tone, dude ur trippin' 😂😂🤷
Cornelius Small True, but as it appeared on Jay Z's album and Nas dissed him about Em murdering him on his own shit and Jay Z admitting it on A Star is Born I gotta call this song Jay Z's. :D
Nah. Jay did more stabs and ad-libs. Em focused on his verses. That was not really reciprocated. I would argue Jay is the better “performer” here. I always thought em killed Jay on this. I mean that first verse alone is mind-blowingly technical - but still telling a story. It’s arguably the best verse of his career. BUT as I grow older and look at Jays verse closely… This was a song with em and Royce. Initially. Jay had time to put his best foot forward (as he had Em’s verses before he started) and I think he did if you read along and pay attention. Jay not only mimicked the “ooo” sound in his first verse - but his rhyme scheme and story telling are great. He just doesn’t spoon feed it to the listener. Some of his bars and rhymes spill over to the next line. It’s not as 1,2,3 as ems - but if you READ jays verse - it really is powerful and really technical. It just doesn’t always end up where you would usually expect it. Which I think is far more artistic, now. Again - Ems verses are insane - but I don’t think it’s as much of a landslide as people think upon listening intently and maturely. Still - two Goats. In their own regard.
@@JesseFarrarMusic You desparate and commenting on each replies, lol!! Jay is good, maybe better somethimes in other songs, however here!!! Em did make J look average. Em did everything clean, clear, perfect and with ease. It's tough to make it this good and deliver with ease and perfection the way Em does here. It looks simpe although it's not. J just trying hard with lotta effort but still can't meet Em's level.
Yes I do. But that's how we do NYC. Sometimes they pluck you off the street, just be part of something...and it turns out to be this. I'll always be grateful.
@@jaxlittleton8731 cant blame the drugs on this one, Em's past reasonably heavy drug use is no secret, and in some concerts you can see by looking his eyes that no one is home. But rapping and the performance as whole was as sharp as ever. Well, occasional slipping occurred but its hard to be perfect all the time, and its even harder if you're drugged out of your head. In all genres there are those who can perform and work being totally wasted and those who cant. I didn't intend this to be such a pro-drug sounding comment, sorry. Just facts.
Went to one of eminems show's 3 years ago and the guy took all of his best songs live for 2 hours streight. Changed shirts 3 times cuz he was sweating so much doing it. Every song was perfect and the dude was like 45 then and performed like a champ.
That sounds amazing man. As you say the man was 45 when you saw him and he’s doing 2 hour shows. His breathing is different class and I bet he doesn’t miss a beat did he? Changed shirts 3 times Ha. He’s a genius and those who don’t rate him are certain black folk and other ethnicities as he’s white and they just won’t have it. That’s been evident. Heard a fair few say he doesn’t belong in hip hop. He turned it on his head for fuck sake. Tunes like White America and The Way I am are Eminem at his angry best. Em is up there along with Nas in my top 2.
Not fully, that’s Young guru on the turntables playing the track too, it’s just enhanced with instruments. You can literally go on young guru’s IG now and he is talking about how hot it was that day the records were melting in practice
@@steeg03 it is, I've seen Eminem live. This sounds EXACTLY the same as the recorded version, and their mouth movements don't sync up with the words properly.
Idk man, the Collision Course EP of Linkin Park and JayZ may hold that title, and I'm not a huge fan of JayZ. Prior to that, there wasn't ever a successful crossover of those types of genres. It really laid the foundation on how hiphop and rock/metal can fuse.
There's an unreleased track that was leaked "Syllables" Eminem ft Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Dr. Dre, Ca$his & Stat Quo... Incase you haven't heard it before. It was supposed to be on Eminem's album or Detox.. Shit is 🔥 though!
What a masterpiece, I can’t stop listening to this live performance. ‘Em owned the song even though it is Jay’s album. This is one of the simplest yet the greatest live performance everrrrr. The crowd had no idea what was going on 😂😂

@@JesseFarrarMusic thats if you dont consider the impact that verse had , people keep forget how much hatred eminem faced back in the 2000's . That eminem verse is a statement quite literally delivered beautifully.
Jay is such a great rapper but ran outta breath , while Eminem did his whole verse clean and loud and then did the hook just at the same time . This guy has serious lungs man .
@@Daimonion229 wdym by "back in those days", he's still good as a zipper, Not Alike, The Ringer, Godzilla, Gnat.....I mean he either have 4 pair of lungs or respires through skin. Yess, he could be an Amphibian
Right on. People act like Jay didn't know how hot it was. It was produced and Intended to be exactly what it is. I hate when people say he murdered him on his own track
@@malagisi187 its Eminem track , it was originally a feat between eminem and royce da 59. The jay z asked for it, em had to drop royce ... the beat is also made by Eminem. And yes, he murdered the beat . Respect to jayz , but thats how it is.
Once again Jay Z's verses are soooo underrated because Em flow is so amazing . Read both of their verses and see for yourself that both of these giants are twin 🔥🔥"s
@@patrickh.copelin6235 Jay did good. Any way you look at it Em did WAY better though. The best version of this song is actually the original with Eminem and Royce. Royce does a MUCH better job than Jay did ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-K_O_-URLgIM.html
Two of the greatest emcees alive delivering some of the best verses of their careers. Incredible performance and so much better than the recorded version 🔥🔥
They always pre-record it for lives , and probably he lip synced ! You can get it by the way they voice sounds like , live onces have this extra reverb to it
@@BakaOctopus em is ridiculous recording and live though. he stands out even on the album version. this track is just easy for him. and nah he aint milly vanniliing this shit
It’s not often you see 2 artists as iconic and legendary as Jay & Em performing like this. Without a doubt one of the greatest live performances in hip hop history!!
Just to listen to these geniuses live- stand a few feet from them, and on top of the roof! That is a one time life experience - how lucky this audience was.
Notice how it gets lit when Em spits... that boy understands hip-hop and how to connect words with visions... an artist painting pictures with words... Em tha 🐐
Very late response, but even Em runs out of breath on a big stage, this stage is so small, they're almost standing in one place so it's easy to control their breath as opposed to large stadiums.
Crazy to see Eminem, Jay Z and Diddy in the same place! Em and J killin it and Diddy on the side just chillin enjoying the flow with the crowd. These people don't know the level of how legendary this was!
Even though the crowd was dead it's kind of nice to see them actually listening to the music rather than waving a bunch of iPhones in the air trying to get a Snapchat video..
Idk why people like jayZ So much his verses sound so flat.. and what he raps about is real mid. That doesn’t really have anything to do with the theme “renegade” And then you got eminem over here busting some sick flows rapping about takin baths with the catholics in holy water with them holding him under, because hes a renegade etc which is the theme of the actual song.
