the monster is slim shady lol he is in a cage cuz eminem doesnt use him anymore cuz slim shady lyrics are crazy and he cant rap the way slim used to but he keeps him alive and in that scene slim is throwing notes at him as if like he feeds him lyrics and ideas thats what i understood from it lol the song is really deep and it needs a breakdown to understand it more.

I always took it as Em keeping Slim Shady caged and uses him to write these songs, literally being friends w his monster. Then when this song was coming out it showed he didn’t really need him anymore.
