So true! Em came up here in Detroit battle rapping, and it's somewhat of a challenge to him, depending on who he's going up against. I really think he trys to get other "Lyrical" Rappers to battle with him, but few will take him on.

Also notice how he pronounces Monch, he pronounces it munch. He's basically saying he's still just as hungry now as he was when he was underground, and uses the the double of Monch and munch to signify that, because munching is just another word for eating something.

As I've gotten older, I've come to believe that Em creates such lyrically dense tracks because you can listen to them over and over again for years and get new shit outta them over time. All the great artists accomplish that in some way, I think. It's repayable, evolving with the listener, and you enjoy it every time.

The phrase became hella popular in the early 2000s (maybe late 90s) and now every battle rapper flips it. You can tell he studies those leagues a lot.
