Seriously, seems like more white and black are racist today than 10 years ago, I hope this is just a “gets worse before it gets better” moment. If I’m being positive I’d like to believe we’re at a stage where white and black people are truly familiar enough with each other now to the point that people are saying things that they believed for the longest but just went unsaid, ignorant beliefs are coming out on both sides, and I’m hoping it’s because we are becoming one culture and these are just growing pains. Hopefully once both sides finish airing out their grievances we can begin to correct the ignorance now that a real dialogue has started. If I had to guess, this is what I think is happening but maybe it’s just wishful thinking.
You clearly defined the difference between Jay-Z and Em. I agree with you 100%!!! Finally, someone who separates them. You can't put them in the same category. Em is #1 rapper.
Lol, legit. I was religious and never heard Em. Recovery came out and, as a writer, I was intrigued. I have all his albums now rn. Stans cannot even have an argument with someone like Lord Jamar.
It's been absolutely class watching Stevie from the start when he reckoned nobody fucks with Em till now when he defends Marshall Mathers to his last breath after he has listened to how well this man has totally become the Neo of Rap! Stevie is a Stan with Gun's!!!!
I remember seeing My Name Is on MTV for the first time, that shit was so funny to me I straight up left my apartment and went to the record store and bought the Slim Shady LP thinking that this man was "trolling " hip-hop. Then I played the tape... realized he sure as hell ain't playing... instant fan/stan. He's the goat. No one comes close. I love lots of rappers (mostly 90's) and even tho Em isn't always the one I listen to the most, its undeniable he is the best there is.
Bro I first heard him on Kid Rock's album Devil Without a Cause- which came out months before SSLP- on the song "F*ck You" and I thought he was trolling rap too
To be honest, i think he's a fan, being a stan is a completely different thing, it's being more obsessive and literally liking every song and being hella subjective and not hearing anything else outside of Eminem
djuhana that’s your take on the word. I’m a hardcore Stan and my favorite rapper is 50 cent. I look at 50 as like a dad that’s how much he influenced me. And I’m white. But I know Eminem is a better rapper overall. Some Stans are level headed like me
djuhana did you watch the video? If you read between the lines he thinks Eminem is the goat. If you deny it it’s delusions at this point. His favorite shit to do is react to Eminem
Thank you ! Half of Jay Z’s clout is because he’s a phenomenal businessman man. Renegade proved they aren’t in the same category lyrically . Nas even called that out in Ether. People didn’t start calling Jay a GOAT until Jay started saying “greatest rapper alive “ himself. Which I give him credit . It caught on . And people got behind it . Great branding .
I love this video so much. Speak the truth! When Em came out, I was a teen, boyband loving, suburban white girl. Eminem was the reason I even started to pay attention to rap. He brought rap music to TRL, which was a HUUUUUGE deal back in the late 90s and early 2000s.
Complete Truth. That hate about race goes all directions and needs to be squashed. The best thing we can do is show love for each other and help people be their best they can be. You don't have to like someone to give them their props when they do well.
Stevie is such a knowledgeable person, how he explains every angles of the situation..it all makes sense.. this is why he is one of my most favorite youtuber
@@stevie.knight Yo Stevie, Snoop DID get on an EM track in the MMLP. Torched. Can't even remember what he said. And after Renegade came out, Snoop acknowledged that rappers should only get on an Em track if it's an Em album, because if you put Em on your own album like Jay did with Renegade then Em will kill you on your own shit. Snoop said that, snoop acknowledges that absolutely no one can rap with Em. That is why this new shit that Snoop said re Em was so confusing.
I was on an em marathon that occasionally happens when you been a Stan for 20+ years. Ran across this video and I def give much respect to this creator. Great content and I enjoyed seeing all the artists paying homage to the GOAT 🐐
Man I’m an Iranian who grew up in Chicago. Em is by far a greater influence around the world. Everyone in the Middle East listens to Em. That’s just a fact! He’s huge around the world
Bruh even here in Nepal man, sooooo many people here got into American hip-hop because of him. Em's influence on hip-hop and the fact that he made the genre popular to such a wide audience globally cannot be overlooked
“If Eminem was black everyone would say he is the greatest”. I hate that the GOAT conversation has come down to race. I get nervous even speaking on it but I appreciate the level of respect you show not only Eminem but all the greats.
21:08-22:16 It’s hilarious that Stevie mentioned the *Dead Wrong* Eminem verse and right after Cordae mentioned it as well was priceless. 😂 Cordae knows what’s up and glad he mentioned the *Infinite* track because it’s great. 💪🏽
Hey bro, I really appreciate your unbiased opinions on everything you do. It really hurts my heart, being a white man who grew up in an area, and went to a school, in my earliest years, as the minority, to know that there are people who hate other people who they've never even met, in most cases. Not everyone experienced the cultural upbringing that I did, and in my opinion, it's the best thing that could have happened to me. Some of the best, realest people I've met, and have considered my friends, look nothing like me, and I feel bad for people who sell themselves short, and avoid other people, simply because of the color of their skin. Literally all 6 of my nieces and nephews are mixed, and I love them all the same, and I would die for the ones I love, it scares me to know that there are people out there who would insult, or hurt them, simply because of the way they look, and I feel bad for the person who tries, honestly, it would be a very bad day for them. My love, and the protection of the ones I love, knows no limits. Anyways, I just wanted to speak my mind, even if this never gets seen. Much love, bro, keep doing you. 💪😎
When Eminem blew up, he changed things forever. The impact he had on the world during that time was insane. Don’t forget that he blew up during a time when social media wasn’t as relevant as it is now. I remember going to visit my family in Mexico during that time and hearing people blast Eminem in their cars blew my mind. It was crazy how many lives he impacted.
I honestly reckon the internet and social media has slowly killed good music. Back then NO INTERNET. Which meant no sales through downloads (people had to actually go to the bother to go to a store and buy music). Limited ways to get your music exposed to the public (radio time, TV, concerts is about it). A lot more work involved in producing GOOD material for fans ... because if the music is crap, no fans. No auto tune, etc (artists were TRUE artists and musicians who could actually perform live). Artists had to WORK HARD for their fans and success. That was reality back then. But, NOW days with the internet ... millions are reached instantaneously with a post, the musical flaws can be covered up with auto tune, filters, etc and the emphasis is on the performer's IMAGE not the music. Today's "artists" are more worried about LIKES, online beefs, who's hooking up with who, fake selfies, making popular social declarations, social media posts ...... THAT'S what gives them their success. NOT the quality of their music. (eg. some talentless mumble rapper with fake teeth, bad hair, squiggle face tattoos, etc can literally "babble" some illiterate lines on an over-used music track ... call it music ... and then become an internet success overnight. WTF??) That's why the pre-social media performers are so good and timeless .... they are TRUE artists that earnt their success the hard way. REAL music.
Only 10 minutes in and I gotta tell you man, I love your channel, I absolutely will always support people that have real strength behind their words. Support good content, support great artists.
I loved this ...Stevie brought factual evidence to support the fact that there is a difference between just selling the look of rap (hip hop) and just raw spitting ability and word play ...Eminem..hands down in my own opinion Eminem is just the perfect mixed cocktail of the greats he took there collective wisdom and painted a beautiful masterpiece of a career
Em MADE "Stan" a definition. Can we just take a moment to appreciate how much that had an effect on, umm, everything!? Until Eminem dropped Stan, in the 2nd album/1stLP, there was no such word for an obsessed fan. At tf he time, Eminem added "STAN" to the dictionary without even realizing
@@azizaokoro3027 people have been using it long before that. Typically they like to use it in an insulating way, but how is being a fan of the goat a bad thing?
Love how you keep it real and don’t worry about what anyone thinks. I will continue to follow you. I know this is an old video, and I’m “late to the party”, but love how you just real, and I don’t follow anyone.
DMX, rip, did that with some tracks. The Ja Rule beef days, with X, Busta, etc jumping on diss tracks with Em was the greatest times while I was in HS. I couldn't wait for the next Trac to drop.
@@hiiipoweriii2211 yoo hiii power, black Hippie... I respect your opinion dawg and I can see why you'd say that but we both know that if they collaborate on multiple tracks you'll start to lean to Em, same with Royce, there are certain tracks Royce out raps Em but if you really listen to every one of their songs you can see Em is better, as far as Wayne yeah he maybe tied Em but in my opinion if they did more than two tracks you'd start to see Em taking the lead and those songs were 10 years ago, I think Em has gotten even better lyrically and Wayne has dropped a little since then
Respect the hell out of you man. I got on you early in your reactions when you first started but I was Dead Wrong. Love how you've evolved and stand your ground with absolute facts
@@mizzpro617 why does she need to study the black culture? We don't and has never turned and said "sorry slash your black you cant be a heavy metal artist and Jimmi Hendrix's Tech 9 does some crazy shit..he does hard core heavy metal! The list goes on...👍 Rage against the machine...killing in the name of was made during the la riots in the 90's!!
@@danielczako4910 dude he has the best ignorant-to-stan character development arc I've ever seen 😭 He started like 2 yrs ago w "I've never fkd w em" to "HOW DARE THEY INSULT EM?! DO IT BETTER THEN BTCH" 😂😂😂
1st time listening to Stevie, his honesty and saying it, how it’s understood, made me laugh out loud. Cool dude ! Coming across really good, great personality mate. Will listen again ! ✌️🏴
I found stevie through falling in reverse reactions. I have watched a lot of your vids now and learnt a lot that i didnt know, im not from usa so thanks bro for sharing your info appreciate it.
I love how eminem rhymes multiple syllables and even entire sentences. Also when he takes words that don't rhyme and somehow says the word in such a way that it does rhyme. Just an absolute amazing lyricist!
Three minutes in and you got all fired up with the race-baiting idiot that Lord Jamar is. It's really great seeing your passion about it since these things have to be called out. Only discovered you in the last few weeks but already loving the channel. Keep it up man
@@stevie.knight stevie you gotta do the video for "the way i am". you missed some iconic shit right there. especially stan video em's videos are one of the best ever too so if you're doing a big song do the lyrics first and music video next
I would’ve never known who you were if it weren’t for Eminem…I’ve been watching you for about 2 years now…its been crazy watching you grow as a RU-vidr…keep doing your thing Stevie
........ ya'll love to applaud brothas who say what you like. So happy because a black guy removed race from a rap discussion. As if he validates your opinions. Race and talent aren't the real issue, despite what this dude says. He's a fan of "bars". Not Hip Hop Sad part is, ya'll don't give a sh*t about eliminating racial and cultural differences in the real world. It's important in this instance because it benefits Em'. That's the goal (sigh)
Races shouldnt affect your opinions at all.. humans are just plain fucked up mate.. Its way past the color of our skin XD When well realize this , we will be able to adress the issue.
Rakim DEFINITELY killed the whole rap game back then, my opinion as well tho. I just think he had the best flow in 80s and 90s especially, the 18th letter is a goddamn masterpiece!!
Big facts my guy. The game to he keeps it real and I’m not even a huge EM fan I never have been but as a fan of hip hop and lyrical rappers you can’t take away the skills he has and the impact he’s had on hip hop and helped it grow. My top 5 is jada biggie nas dmx and fab ( that’s a random order) but again I listen to enough and have listened for long enough to know how talented and how much of a beast he is. Anyone who denies that is a hater. It’s real simple for a white boy to come into the game and do what em did he has to be absolutely disgusting and the fact that none of the top rappers have ever came at him lol because if he wasn’t as good as he is he would have never achieved what he has in hip hop and other rappers would come at him constantly
@@goBIRDS_phi thank you. Fkn right. I'm convinced the cvnts who STILL "a quarter of a century deep and I can't be beat" after all this time don't recognize Em - I KNOW they're either ignorant, uneducated or racist. 100 %. Big up
I have been on this earth since early 60's. Lord Jamar, I have been and always will be black. Stop hating because you have always been Limited in your skills. Rakim gave him props so sit your hating ass down!
its been a wild ride seeing you go from this guy who wasnt quite sure about eminem to honest to god one of the biggest stans ive ever seen, and not in a bad way. he might not be your favorite artist but damn brother you go declare WAR on anyone that says hes anything but one of the greatest to ever touch a mic. honestly probably THE greatest. you probably the only reaction channel that 100% gets it. when i get this next paycheck its going to your patreon.
I think one of the takeaways people need to have is as hip hop has spread all over the world and kids multiple generations have grown up with hip hop we're going to start seeing amazing people from all over who can just kill it and em might have been the first one but he ain't going to be the last This whole video series was awesome man I really appreciate you making it your feeling parallel what I feel and it's nice that somebody's putting it into words for all of us
As a new subscriber, can I say I abso-fucking-lutely respect your reactions and look forward to your content. I agree 110% with your statements about Eminem. I have heard most rappers don't want to be on the same track as him because of how good he is. My question to you is, do you believe when people rip apart an amazing song (like Drop the World for example) to find a "winner" it destroys the song and message as a whole and do you think more would colab with him if that happen? It sometimes seems stupid to me to see two(or more) fan bases divided and arguing with each other about a song they both like. This 48yo white vet from Louisiana sure would like to hear your opinion. Thank you for your time and energy you put into your content.
@@TWHowl I personally prefer the songs where he has insane word play and double and triple entendres, like Yah Yah, Right for Me, Dead Wrong, Not Alike, Godzilla, Unacommodating, and Lucky You. There are just so many excellent Eminem songs that are crazy with Bars and Many Entendres, but his meaningful stuff is mad Dope too
Bro, I gotta say, I love how you keep it real regardless of race and you see people as people not a race. I been spreading your videos because you represent what people should be… people! Regardless of the pigmentation of one’s skin. Keep rolling bro because wether it’s black white or whatever, we need more like you.
Apparently Tom Green has played the role of Eminem since 2010 and when the real Slim Shady died back in 2004, Wentworth Miller took over his role until 2010.
@@ct--we2xu Whilst I believe Nas is an incredible story teller and is massively underrated in general, I personally believe that poetically Eminem is the true master of English verse.
Em is and always will be a straight street battle M C. period No one can hang with Em in a cypher,,... well maybe and I will say Black Thought from the Roots would be the only rapper that could maybe beat Em one on one, but that's just my opinion.Im 50 years old, I qualify with my remarks and grew up listening and a fan from the beginning stages of Rap back in the the day.My first record I purchased was 8th Wonder by the Sugar Hill Gang and came up listening to all of these greats in Hip Hop.When I first heard Eminem a torch was lit and it's still lit in 2020.Hes a once in a life time Hip Hop artist,he was born to break barriers!!!!I still love Black Thought from the Roots,he's in my top 5 still and to this day the Roots are right behind RUN DMC as far as the best Rap group in history. As a solo artist,Eminem is a bonified generational prodigy born talent and anyone who disses a GOAT artist like him is just plain STUPID!!!!
I grew up with Nirvana and alternative punk rock. I had known about Eminem, but I started watching videos like this one. That is when I started to notice that rappers and rap fans have mad respect for this white boy who is my age. So I wanted to listen to Eminem to see what the big deal was...My cousin guided me on my tour of his life and albums. I was and still am BLOWN AWAY. I never heard or experienced the complicated depth at what a single man can do with the English language. This man put in years of dedication and work to his art. Amazing! Eminem could teach this as a Master Professor at any major university in the world. I had to re-tune my ear to pick up his different flows. But once I did....I was dumb struck by the mastery of the language, and never before heard complex lyrical delivery... I could go on for hours. But I lack the genius mind that Eminem clearly has. I AM AW STRUCK !!!
LOVE you spitting facts. I am a 57-year-old woman and I loved Em from the first time I heard him. I had no idea what color he was at the time. I was never into rap before. He is the GOAT for real. A lyrical poet. Genius has no color.
I know it a year later. But I was talking about my cheeks hurting watching him at 2022 rock n roll hall of fame performance to coworkers and these dudes were all I hate em. I said but you can't say he didn't make a HUGE INFLUENCE these past 15yrs.. I mean it sounds wierd to most ppl, but when I was young his curtain call like "angry" rap, like get that stuff off your chest type music.... my teen yrs SUCKED, my father was trash too, so his CDs I was like SAY IT EM 🙌🙌🙌 then recovered, he was socially awkward and didn't necessarily like attention..like me too!
I think it’s so admirable when someone breaks the mold. Em did it with rap, Tiger did it with golf, Hamilton is doing it as we speak with F1. These are individuals to admire for their obsessive focus and determination to be the best in their respective fields despite whatever obstacles they face.
As a Jamaican 🇯🇲 This true em was hot ASF in Jamaica. I remember when the way I am and my name's slim shady dropped and my mom, step dad, sister neighbors all gathered around the TV to listen em
Thats what i love about him , he is like one of my favorite authors (Terry Pratchet) he can write lines, bars and paragraphs that you keep picking up in different ways, and getting new meanings and jokes out of don't matter how many time you have listened to them or read it.
Kendrick's Rigamortis is definitely his most complex cadence rhyme scheme. But still nobody can do it like Em does. He doesn't find pockets, he creates them.
"Record sales don't mean shit in this conversation." The greatest thing is...the guy who has sold the most records is the one most worried about getting respect. I just dont get how anyone can hate on him. He LOVES the game.
dude you're my new favorite reactor. You keep it real as fuck. I only watched 2 of your videos and subscribed, just this one and the Hopsin 7. Nobody else who reacted to Hopsin aside from a couple actually understood what he was saying.
“Snoop get on a track w Eminem” snoop said in a interview he didn’t want Em on his song after he saw him murder Jay on renegade💀😂so that’s not happening
I haven’t seen this channel before but found this video cuz I love our boy Em, but all it took was one and a half minutes in and I hit that sub button Whaddup doe from the D! mad respect for you man keep it up
Fyi, first time watching the channel, im diggin everything. Amd then you went to re-up, i had to pause the vid and go put some four roses in my glass cause NOW I know we going for a philosophical ride. Earned my sub.
Stevie, here's what you need to know, mate. Lord Jamar listened to 'Untouchable' and his takeaway from it was that Eminem is empowering whites with the chorus and that black rappers are addicted to pills because of him. That's it; his full takeaway of that song. Was an interview with Vlad tv.
He trying to get views, he probably get some compensation from Vlad for doing those interviews. He broke like Benzino. Btw Benzino got evicted today cause he couldn't pay his rent.
I am finding this now. I love how passionate you are in giving Eminem his due. I am such a girly black female and I hardly pay attention to rap, but Eminem is brilliant. I loved his cheesy raps back in the day but when I really listened to them, i realized they weren't cheesy. I heard his verse on Nicki Minaj's Majesty and my jaw legit dropped and renewed my interest in his raps. I kept replaying it because it was just masterful. The lyrics are clever and the way he articulates when he raps is something else that I can't put into words. So when I hear other rappers pulling that racist BS stuff about how black people don't listen to Eminem blah blah blah. It actually irritates the hell out of me too! Talk about the talent. He IS a wordsmith. Not the skin. The talent!!! It's not only about cadence...the rhythm, the lyrics....the physical challenge of how he raps....just brilliant!
And machine bum smelly think he is the rap devil... LMAO like Eminem said MGK is a devil worshipper, Shady is the rap devil and MGK worship him, he admitted to be a stan
@@paullaney3339 he worship shady that make him kill other rappers, he don’t literally worship the devil lmao, even in the song criminal he says it at the beginning, that you don’t gotta think he worship the devil only cause he raps about violent stuff, he don’t do that shit in real life
