Me and my family travel emirates business class every single time. And every time it’s just amazing, I don’t know why people hate it. The service is nice, the flight attendants are friendly and kind, also the free ice cream at night hits so hard.
I recently flew Qantas, Cathay and Emirates in business class. All were very good but there is just something about Emirates, especially on the A380 which makes it stand out over the other 2. Food, service and the onboard lounge make me always look to see if I can fly Emirates A380 as my first choice.
I few on Business Class on Emirates, last night and this morning. First, a red eye, on an A380 from CDG to DXB and then on a B777 from DXB to KWI. This was my first time on an A380. I want to thank Emirates for arranging someone to meet me at my arrival gate and expedite my transition through security to my next flight, since my connection time was tight. They arranged this without my knowledge. Thank You, Emirates.
I went on this kind of plane on business class when I was younger. It was around 2016 after my cousin's wedding, and when we were heading back to America my father got us the tickets. I remember how for each seat, you could call other seating number with the remote. My older sister called me in the middle of the flight just to try it out. And the bar was a hit even for me! Even though I was far too young to indulge in alcohol, I loved the pastries that they gave out and I would get out of my seat occasionally just to get one. The flight attendants saw me doing this and I guess they thought it was funny because they also came to my seat to offer me other snacks.😅It's definitely earned it's place for best airlines in my book.
I love the fact that while editing you don't use the same intro all the time you come up with a new one relevant to the context. Kudos for that small effort
I've always found Emirates business class to be excellent, never had a bad experience with them. Not as much privacy as Qatar (I'm yet to try them) but super comfy, always really nice staff, excellent food any they are super kind and generous to the kids when we travel with them, lavishing them with gifts and stuff to entertain them. Definitely my go to airline when doing my usual route Brisbane - Dublin.
I specifically went with Qatar for Brisbane-Dublin as they have the dreaded 2-3-2 777 for the DUB-DXB leg. Would you say it's still worth going with EK? I slept the best ever in the QSuite. Admittedly Qatar also used some rather tired 787's from DUB-DOH but at lteast they were all reverse herringbone with direct access. I also liked how the lounges in Doha were airy and the airport not as maze-like.
@ml9052 of you're travelling on your own, an aisle seat on Emirates is great. Shared centre rows not as great, but still perfectly nice. You can't go wrong. I do like the idea of the privacy of the QSuites, yet to try it. Price of flights at the moment sucks 😕
Thanks Dan for another great video. I am based out of SFO and have never been on an A380, The experience of flying nonstop on Emirates business class to DXB is very appealing!
Couldn't agree more of what u said about the service. Just took my first Emirates flight in economy three weeks ago and the service or friendliness of the crew was average. Food, entertainment and everything else however are excellent.
I’ve flown emirates several times and the inconsistency in service does stand out. Food is usually if not always excellent, though on early AM flights to the US, I’m not a fan of forcing me into a smaller breakfast initially and then serving a more substantial lunch four to five hours later. The A380 seats are excellent and private though beware certain flight routings as the party at the rear bar can be obnoxious. But what keeps me from flying them now that I am US based again is the 777 flown on my home route. It’s lack of privacy is a no go for me. Three seats together in the middle screams British airways circa 2000! I had a neighbor commenting/judging me on my drink choices. No thank you, I’ll take qatar every time.
Hi Dan, I’ve been a silent subscriber for years. However for this I feel like I have to step in. Please please please do not advertise better help. If you do a quick google search you’ll see how bad of a company they are. Please please please don’t advertise them again and do research on the company
Just echoing OP’s sentiment, Dan. Love the videos and I have zero problem with you getting sponsors, but BetterHelp isn’t the service they promised you. There have been multiple issues with conversion therapists showing up and targeting LGBTQ users and the FTC just ruled that BetterHelp pushed people into handing over health information - and broke its privacy promises. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg, just google BetterHelp FTC or BetterHelp scandal for details.
Agreed. I signed up for BetterHelp when I was self harming myself. My first and second therapists I matched with stood me up for sessions. Such bad selection of therapists. They don’t care unfortunately :(
@Dan: Your NonStop Dan seat database is incorrect. It shows that in a row with middle seats together has Windows seats with no privacy. That is not correct. If the Middle seats are together, then the Window seats are also closer to windows with more privacy. In airline terms, if the middle seats are labeled as E and F, then the windows seats are only A and K. Whereas, if the middle seats are D and G, then the window seats are B and J.
The lack of privacy means those seats can no longer be considered the best available. I rate Qatar Q-Suites as the best business class product currently available and it's also extremely pleasing that Qantas will be offering that same level of privacy on its new A350 services (as part of its Project Sunrise).
@@unknownperson3691 There were no serious injuries in the 1999 runway overrun incident. Most of the minor injuries occurred during the evacuation of the plane down the slides. Qantas chose to repair the damage which cost approximately half what it would have cost to acquire a new Boeing 747. Not only the safest airline in the world but one of the best financial performing airlines.
Dan I am from the UAE and I wish we can meet because I’m going to Thailand in the summer. Maybe it’s gonna be July 2. I hope I see you there love your videos by the way from the UAE I hope so. I’m gonna go to Thailand because it’s very nice and a big aviation geek and I’m only nine years old.❤❤❤❤❤❤
I completely agree with what you said about the service! My first Emirates flight was business on A380 and I was appalled at how bad the service was (the FA was mean!) Then I flew First on the B777 and the service was incredible!
Kind of blown away by the catering on this flight, especially since you order vegan meals. I'm shocked at the disparity in service from different flight attendants. This is a great video about the Emirates A-380
Can we all agree hole-heartedly that Emirates business class is severely underrated compared to the likes of Virgin Atlantic, Qatar, BA, Delta, United and others? I have travelled both 777 and A380 business class on Emirates and I found both were easily better than some seats from airlines listed above including Qatar's other seats in business class. Obviously though the A380 business class is way better than its less private and cheaper feeling 777 counterpart.
I totally agree, the A380 is serene, it's like a flying ocean liner, smooth and extremely quiet compared to the incessant roar of the engines in a 777.@@antjee
AWESOME, as always, though I'm a non drinker now I remember the days of the upstairs sky lounge bar which was very civilised, as it didn't disturb other passengers downstairs. Food looked good as did you & Oskar. Wishing you both very best wishes to you&yours💥👊👏👏👏💙💙👌❤️💯👋⭐️💯✌️
2:40 this a380’s livery was previously Dubai Expo Be Part of The Magic and was to promote expo 2020. It’s one of 4 a380s in those colours. This a380 you flew on is A6-EES. The other 3 a380s in the same colours are EEU, EEW and EOT
I took the A380 to NYC from Dubai back when I saw you at the desert hotel. Thank God I did. The flight from Maldives to Dubai I hated and it looks like it would have been those seats to Boston.
I got to fly the a380 business class out of Milan on their fifth freedom route with my wife. It was amazing. The lounge was awesome, especially the serve-yourself bar with top shelf booze. Not sure when we’ll have enough points to do it again.
Have already watched this. Flew on the A380 Singapore to Athens return last august in BC. But just booked again for february next year to Amsterdam on the A380 in BC. Helps with the holiday excitement lol But i too find the catering hit and miss. Last year both flights over to Athens the food was only look warm. Way back it was hot as it should be. Strange. Atleast this time no 777 from Dubai to Athens. A380 all the way. Yay baby. The overnight flight from Singapore to Dubai hubby and i sit 2 rows apart so we ate both against the window and have privacy. Day time flight we sit together. Looking forward to trying the bar out of Amsterdam as its an afternoon flight. So excited.
Even if booking the A380 you never know what you get. Emirates swaps A380s for 777s quite often. I'm surprised Dan doesn't acknowledge this important fact. Noel Philips considers this when making recommendations to his viewers.
You could be correct, however it is more the reason that the UAE is a Small Moslem Country. Culturally, Moslem girls in there 20s are not allowed to fly all over the world, un chaperoned. Also it fits in with the need to communicate with a very diverse passenger base!
@@jcaam8094 I think we both have valid points. There is no possible way that a large carrier could fill their ranks with so many from a small Moslem Country!
I agree the EK A380 is simply excellent. I do wonder if EK will retain their success whenbthey start to transition from the A380 as their 777 is just average so much so I just avoid it and fly on other airlines.
that only applies to the 380, the old shity 777 are sooooo different. But they even advertise the 777 with the very few planes with a newer/better Business seat
Great video Dan, as always. You are by far my favourite flight vlogger. Personally I think Emirates business class deserves its lukewarm reviews. Even by your own admission the aisle seats lack privacy and the service is patchy at times. I think my rate of average Emirates FAs to good ones is the inverse of yours: 2 average ones to every good one. This is across a number of flights in business and first. And 2 x 3 x 2 J seating on the 777 is just inexcusable. Imagine being stuck in the middle seat on a 15 hour flight between two fat blokes, one who drinks too much and the other snores. Maybe then that exposed A380 aisle seat down by the noisy bar wouldn't be so bad...
I live in the Middle East and typically travel three weeks a month. Usually I have a choice of airline, and usually First or Business. I don’t consider myself a fussy flier. Emirates is under-appreciated IMO. They have a much more consistent experience than Qatar. When Qatar is good, it is unbeatable. But it isn’t always good. If it’s not the Q suite the seat us ordinary. Equipment changes are frequent. Emirates has no such issues. They never randomly switch up. Customer experience on emirates is very good. Qatar is awful on the ground. IRROPs, complaints, call centre: all better on Emirates, mostly because Emirates staff are empowered to take decisions. In summary, I’m rarely surprised in a bad way on Emirates. On Qatar, it happens often. Just my experience.
i’d take KLMs 1-2-1 business class over this any time i feel? every window seat has privacy and i LOVE klm cabin crew (although admittedly, their on the ground experience is kinda sad atm)
Another amazing video Dan, keep up the fantastic work! 👍 Overall, Emirates Business Class seems like an excellent product, and I hope I will experience it one day in the near future!
You are definitely right about the crew not always being around when you depart the plane, it’s normally at that time i try and get their name to give feedback about their great service. But sometimes they are busy and you dont see the crew member that was down your aisle.
Such a good summary. Lucky enought to have done both Emirates and Qatar from London to New Zealand and Australia respectively. Both have an excellent hard and soft product. The Emirates bar is magic on a long flight, breaking up the boredom, and the whole exerience is fun. Cabin crew is a bit variable on Emirates and not as polished as Qatar . At its best, I give the prize to Emirates; but for consistency, Qatar. Fisrt world problems, as both are so so enjoyable.
Interesting that your flight was on one of the yet to be refitted interiors. The new business class has cream leather seats etc. I flew on these back in March and they are more comfortable.
Hi, With a paid upgrade to Business class, do we get access to the lounges in Dubai and international? Or is it still paid? For Qatar airways, upgrading didn't mark you up for free access. So we'd like to know this detail, with 4 hours layover in DXB.
If you are a side sleeper that likes to kink your knees (due to back issues), would you choose the AK Cocoon seats or the single aisle seats? I know from Qantas Dreamliner I need the aisle single traveler as there is very limited room and almost a 'coffin-like' experience in business which gives me cramp.
