I love listening to Tim Clark. He simply won’t budge a millimeter away from his business model and that’s what makes him special. Boring airlines are everywhere. This guy came up with a phenomenal value proposition and won’t deviate from it one bit. It is either be the best or be the best. Long live, Sir Tim!

Flew on the Emirates A380 from LHR to DXB, fabulous experience. I wish they keep them for long time. And Emirates service was top notch, the staff were very attentive and helpful!

Wow! Didn't knew they were using A380s between LHR and DXB. A380s cost a lot to take off and land, so short distance flights are a major loss for the airline I would guess.

The elephant in the room question… do you get fuel subsidies or not ? Direct answer please ! If you get free or heavily discounted fuel that is the only competitive advantage you need.

The consumer loves A380 but its a burden to run for the airlines, you need deep pockets for it. Post pandemic if they are able to sustain over 100 x A380s that itself shows EKs strength. And why is everyone intrested in merging EY & EK? Drowning airlines do that. Both airlines are doing just fine on their own and picking speed post covid when compared to others around the world! They dont need to merge, they are making the best ROI for their individual shareholders.

Just love how he sticks to what’s best for his brand. Qantas lost this edge years ago and individual way of thinking. Richard stop thinking like a stock broker and look at how smart business and brand business can really shine on its own. Oh and by the way love the A380 will go out of my way to get on one. Best aircraft flying.

It’s a known fact this airline is totally subsidized by the government , as the CEO himself said it “one shareholder , the government” it never was profitable and it never will ! This model is like every other major project in UAE! It’s all about bling bling, build it and they come! They should change the slogan to what it really should be! “ build it with oil money and they may come Enshahalah , or they may not 🤥”
@mallarchakraborty6521
@mallarchakraborty6521 2 года назад
Next time, you should get your facts right. The emirate of Dubai has left the 'Oil Money' group very long ago as oil comprises less than 30% of their GDP now, so I don't know wtf build with oil money you talking about.
@betweenlamppost168
@betweenlamppost168 2 года назад
@@mallarchakraborty6521 Ok genius, let me explain it to you, Dubai does not have that much oil but the big brother Abu Dhabi does! Everything Dubai has built was either with their own oil money or the money they borrowed from Abu Dhabi. All those tall big buildings you see driving to your sorry back office job are 80% empty, but either you are blind to see that or too scared to ask your Master emirates the right questions. Now go and drink more coolaid and carry on your running from one mall to another lifestyle in Dubai
@alexandrosandreou8585
@alexandrosandreou8585 2 года назад
@@betweenlamppost168 did you say 80%of those building are empty and Emirates is at a loss ? What in the conspiracy theory are you on about why do you have to hate on everything get your ass back to Facebook and talk about flat earth or something rather than clowning yourself in RU-vid comments
@alexandrosandreou8585
@alexandrosandreou8585 2 года назад
Also subsidation doesn't mean the airline can run at a loss for 30 years and be fine do you even know how subsidizing works? Boeing has been subsidized does that mean they have been running at a loss for so many years?
@betweenlamppost168
@betweenlamppost168 2 года назад
@@alexandrosandreou8585 Alexandros you seem to be even more illiterate than the other dude I responded to in this thread. Another reason I think you are illiterate is that you work in UAE because most probably you couldn’t make a good living where you’re from! A second hand citizen who is brain washed and obviously doesn’t know crap! Maybe 80% is a bit of exaggeration but say about 70% is vacant, and to maintain these buildings that are sinking every day is very costly! You wouldn’t know any of this because the government gives you a false image! So it’s not your fault to feel inferior ! It’s not a conspiracy theory , so how do I know this ? I’m in real estate and went there for a business trip, they were throwing lots of money at me to work there but didn’t take much to get to the bottom of the story and ran away as fast as I could . Btw have you talked to other expats who left there or your head is buried under those lovely sand storms!!

I'm against Tim on this , Merger is needed with flydubai , yes flydubai can work as a feeder for the hub but the operating cost for 2 airlines and having many departments involved just increases the operating cost overall for nothing , we have seen how the codeshare increased the revenues for both airlines and allowed for better utilization , now what both carriers are missing is one management , flydubai is just a confused business model that is adjusting constantly to the market needs , one day they are a LCC and one day they are FSC and one day they're hybrid , merging them will give EK more options if they can't meet high load factors , and Flydubai can use the 777 when it's over booked , thus better fuel saving and lower number of aircrafts with same profitability
