As an example of a response to preparation for “threats” or “issues” if Trump becomes president, Lagarde gives this: “Capital Market Union: Transforming access to finance for SMEs, for large corporates, moving away from lending and more to equity in order to facilitate and encourage innovation.” What do we think she means by this? As the president of the ECB is she telling Members States to go into the business of investing in startups using equity? I cannot figure out what she’s signaling here & Richard’s follow-up was unsatisfactory (sorry, Richard, love you!). Equally weird was her second example related to professional licenses, but I digress. Help me 😂
