Hello @NonstopDan. I have been a very big fan of your channel for a very long time. I am writing this message to tell you that on nearly every comment in this video there is a person that replies to all comments pretending to be you, trying to scam people and trick people in thinking they are you. Please take note. Thank you, love your videos!
I was thinking of you guys yesterday when me, my girlfriend and your Chihuahua went to Landvetter airport and Scandic hotel. Brilliant stay with NO crash boom bang. Just a happy new year! Stay safe
I flew this product from Dubai to Glasgow this summer. There were no mattress pads despite it being a longer flight. The crew never introduced themselves. I have had warmer experiences on Iberia. The entertainment system failed at my seat and the crew acted aggrieved when I asked them to reset it. Three and a half hours later they finally did. I was relieved to fly home to the US on BA (which also had significantly better food). Glad you had a better experience!
As BA crew I’m happy to hear you had a good flight with us ☺️ Sorry to hear about your EK flight. Hope to see you on board with BA again soon and that your next experience with EK is better too 😊
i remember 5 years ago when i was flying economy on the emirates a380 with my family. My mom was talking to a flight attendant and the flight attendant offered a tour of the entire airplane, it was amazing. What was even more amazing, was that after the airplane landed, we got to go to the cockpit. I even have pictures of it.
It’s like a really really nice premium economy. I have flown it a few times and it’s just SO awkward needing the bathroom in the night.. thanks for all the content in 2022!! Love your channel!
Lufthansa has the same problem on their 747s. Need the bathroom? Either try to not wake them up and try the awkward climb...or shake them to wake them 🤣
Pro tip - buying an economy “flex” fare with miles and then upgrading to business class with miles will often be less total miles than outright buying a business class ticket (and no added carrier fees)
You should do some premium economy reviews! You could do a whole series comparing several different ones. Emirates, BA, Lufthansa, Virgin, TUI, LOT the list goes on! And it doesn’t cost as much as business and first.
Hey Dan I completely agree with your views on Emirates business class in their older 777s .. I travelled in their one of their older triple 777 earlier this month and in my opinion as a solo traveller i wrongly selected my seat which resulted in total chaos.. I regretted a lot because this is my first travel in Business class for which I paid my 1 month salary 😥😥😥... Wishing you a very happy new year 2023
This product is so inferior - no lie flat seats and that middle seat is unacceptable - I was given it once and wouldnt sit in it , instead told the crew I wouldn’t be travelling and to start the process of retrieving my baggage from the hold!!! WHAT? Staff re seated and I magically got a window 👋
Thanks Dan! I flew this product recently, Dublin to Dubai. Generally I was impressed and happy with the experience, but I agree it is very dated. I’m a larger guy so I actually found the seat a little cramp and that the tablet would occasionally poke into my side, especially while dining. The flight attendants were brilliant and made the difference. I have only flown business class on one other occasion with Etihad and couldn’t help comparing the two. Etihad was better overall. My “trick” for getting it cheaper was to book an economy ticket and wait for Emirates to send me an email offering an upgrade 2 days before check in. This doesn’t work if flight is fully booked though. Let’s have a look at Etihad next?
i flew Emirates almost monthly from SEA to Dubai for work. The worst experience I ever had in business class. Arrived at my seat to find that someone had throw up and it was everywhere, on the back of the seat, on the side wall. You name it. I called the flight attendant for help and she brought be a wash cloth, lol you know the ones from the BC restroom and I had to clean it myself. I asked to be reseated and the response was, BC is all full. When I arrived is Seattle I wrote the company and shared my disappointment with the customer service group in a letter, and the response I received was they could not confirm that the seat and vomit on it. Never again will I fly this airlines
Don’t care what others think about this because I fly in economy all the time and any business class product is gonna feel like I’m stepping into another world. 😂 I also sometimes feel like those who slam this product have been spoiled with all the QSuites and Polaris’ of this world. Josh Cahill reviewed this product recently and I didn’t even want to watch the video after I saw the title, because I know the hate would gonna be so passionate.
I understand your thoughts. But paying for BC with my own money I would feel cheated getting a seat that does not go 180 flat. These kinds of videos make sure you know what to look for and what you can expect to get for your money. Its a huge improvement in consumer choice compared to previously and it has pressured a lot of airlines to make their products match their ticket price.
Until recently Emirates only had the 777-300 from Auckland, NZ to Dubai ( they have now re-instated the A380 on the route). The equipment was the older 777 which for 17 hrs wasn't exactly pleasant. I'm back to Europe in a few weeks and the equipment for the DBX-FRA leg is also a 777. Not wanting to experience this again I changed my connecting flight from a morning departing to evening so I could stay on an A380. The best bit is that due to the now long connection (10hrs) Emirates provide complimentary hotel, ground transportation & meal at not extra cost via their Dubai Connect booking system!
Great review Dan!! I'm so excited we've booked Dubai to Frankfurt for August 2023 with Aeroplan, 45,000 pts each plus taxes on the a380 in business class for the whole family! So excited for our first EK and A380 flight

I flew this product from The Maldives to Dubai in August, yes the set was lacking in lots of things you’d expect from business class nowadays but the service was still unmatched and the food/amenity kit was top notch
I am not flying in a meal, I am not flying in an amenity kit, I spend 6h+X in a seat which I would prefer to be comfy and gives me acces to the aisle without climbing over other passengers!
Flew the 777 bussiness to Lisbon was pathetic terrible food cabin in average condition lots of patchy repairs all over the place things not working service was lousy uncomfortable seat for sleeping as it doesn’t go fully flat and you seem to fall down the seat when fully extended. Crap product I’ve flown better premium economy before.
Emirates Houston-Dubai just quoted me about $850 r/t for January travel in economy. Turkish Airlines was less than $800. I am strictly a hard bargain traveler and the prices that you show scare me.
I was going to purchase business class seats on the 777 until I looked at the seat configuration. I was shocked to see that is not what I was expecting. Their A380 has true business class seats.
If you're flying out of Casablanca, they also have the 90 minute deadline. I lost my airfare and had to use miles to buy a business class ticket to get out of Morocco. Needless to say, I was NOT happy.
I travel Saigon to either Birmingham or London UK return, the sector SGN to Dubai is on a B777 the second legs on a A380. Now if both legs had been B777 I would be looking for a different airline, but I just love the 380 and so suffer the 777 parts.
I'm so glad I saw this. My husband has been trying to get me to buy cheaper Emirates BC seats instead if Qatar Qsuites, Dubai to Australia. We have flown Emirates A380 which was awesome but I wouldn't want to go all the way to Oz on this Emirates 777.
I am pretty sure from both Australia and New Zealand we fly A380 to Dubai. And then we are flying on to Prague on 777 -300ER . Will be doing this in July.
Roll of dice luck with Emirates. At times great staff and perfect flight; other times moody cant-be-bothered staff that ruin the experience. Last flight was one of the worst with Emirates; cut my leg from a piece of metal that was protruding in the aisle, instead of asking me if I needed a medical kit to stop the bleeding or clean the wound they just gave me tissue. Then they served every food to every single seat but forgot to serve the last two seats at the back of plane where I was sitting. Moody staff etc etc.
Another outstanding video from a fascinating flight experience. The views of Tunis and the Mediterranean, alone, make this epic. Love the Med food and large windows, but a couple of points. Not much focus on the service. How does does it compare to Qatar et al? And…the seat is a killer. I flew global Biz in the days when even First Class wasn’t 180’. Before I fly a slanted Biz, again, I’ll just pocket the cash or miles and join humanity in Economy or Eco+. Slant seats keep me up all night with the feeling I’m getting flushed out the window. Not comforting at 10,000 meters.
Hello Dan and thanks for all your greatd flight videos! :-) Questions. 1. Would you say row 7 or 6 is better in 777-300 Business class? 2. You say in the video that you can ask the crew ro upgrade you to first class for a cost. Have you any idea how much that would be? At least roughly? Many kind regards, Linda & Björn, Umeå Sweden
I love Emirates First Class, but I hate their 2x3x2 Business Class. I can't understand why they still chose to go with it even on their new planes. Because of this, I only book First Class when I fly Emirates. However 1x2x1 Business on their A380s are ok, still I'd go for First for the shower.
This is the same business class that Emirates flies to India, and it is definitely highly dated compared to their new business class on select 777-300ERs and all 777-200LRs, which has a fully flatbed and is quite similar to the A380 business class in other aspects. I would highly suggest you, Dan, to try the new business class onboard Emirates 777s.
For me I was on the newer emirates 777 the seats were better but I have found that the IFE has bugs and glitches and one of the flight camera went pink overall a nice flight but nothing can beat that A380
If Covid or any other challenge is not again blocking it , i will fly in march/april the first time in my life with Emirates. And in a A380 in First :D. I am so excited but still checking my asia trip and all the changes of flights coming some times in.
I'll never understand, why people are spending money for a long haul 777 business class product in a 2-3-2 configuration, when the competition has 2-2-2 or direct aisle access for roughly the same amount of money.
@@willknapman8417 Sorry. I was being somewhat flippant about my estimation of "business class". I heard that Turkish is good and I do consider flying them. I normally fly Virgin Atlantic, Thai Airways and EVA Airways that all have no more than 4 seats across in their business class on the routes I fly (except Thai on B787-8 which has 2-2-2). They all have direct aisle access too and for me that is essential - I don't like to disturb or be disturbed.
I hate this config on EK business class. Unless they change this, i am flying TK business for the meantime. TK has 1-2-1 in its A350s, so much nicer and comfortable.
Emirates business class is also 33% more than Qatar on every route I fly, so I only ever do it when I want a A380 experience. Mind you its always only A380 to the hub then always a 777 out of for me ....
hey you should do your own version of skytrax rating, buy more of like Dantrax ratings every year(?). Like your favourite business, your favourite food, your favourite seats, etc.
I do 6 long haul flights per year. Having to travel from Cape Town to the west coast of the US, Europe and Asia. This product from Emirates is the reason I now only travel with Qatar Airways
I thought by now, you would have used yoir comman sense to actaully turn up for an international flight and hour and a half before. My 6 year old sister knows this already. For goodness sake, don't blame EK for that.
Emirates 300er jets business class is exceptionally below standard. The seats are extremely tight. Just as wide as an economy class. No full inclination, trays cannot be opened while seat is inclined. Overall a poor business class money making strategy.
I can´t believe they still "offer" this disgusting 2-3-2 configuration!! The A380 offers unbelievable comfort but with the 777 Emirates plays not even 3rd league! I am planning a trip Germany - New Zealand for 26 but it´s either A380 all the way or I will fly with a different airline. Did the trip already 5 times and there is no way I am going back to Emirates´ lousy 777 BC!
I flew from Newark US to Athens on business class. First and foremost the business lounge in this airport is more than horrid. Extremely poor food presentation ( literally no food) no champagne, dirty sticky floors, I can’t begin to tell you how terrible the entire area is, poor service, horrid airport! About the business class seats. I found them to be narrow and uncomfortable when totally laid flat. If you have a window seat and someone is seating next to you sleeping you need to jump over his legs to go to the bathroom. There wasn’t any mini bar on any of the sides of the seats, ( I have no idea why on videos they show that in 777 business class seats offer your own mini bar) the bottled water was the cheapest water in the US. Food was mediocre and I guess the catering in Newark for Emirates is terrible. Is it worth all that money ? I would say NO!
I flew this cabin last year between Dubai and Delhi, and was lucky enough to not have a neighboring passenger. Thankfully I live near A380-friendly SFO.
I flew economy from Tokyo→Dubai, Dubai→London Stansted and back again over the Christmas/New Year period. The Tokyo→Dubai route was on an A380. The seat were comfortable, the windows looked lovely, too. Unfortunately the Dubai→London Stansted →Dubai route was on a 777. If I had been a little more flush there was some good deals on business class. However the most forward economy was smaller and less dense. Can't wait to try Business - even on the 777.
But ... but ... but ... Dan ... you left out the most important detail : WHERE WAS OSCAR'S PASSPORT??? 🤔 Not in his pocket i hope.... haha that is the kind of thing I would do. I look for my glasses while they are on top of my head and i've been known to look for my keys ... while holding them in my hand. Happy New Year! ❤
My wife and I flew the Emirates 777 business class several years ago. This was the last time we flew with Emirates. Qatar and Singapore both provide 1-2-1 configuration in business class. We now fly either of those on our couple of annual trips.
Love your videos Dan, and the fact that you're vegan makes me more excited every time I check one of your reviews. Thanks to one of your videos I decided to take QR first IST DOH MLE (thank you Cathay 777) and it was a blast! Also I'm finally taking my EK flight in a week, pretty excited. Keep up the good work and the other Chanel as well!
Hi dan i have been in both 777 and a380 business class but the a380 one is so much better that 777 and i also got middle seat in the 777 but the food on both flight are amazing and happy new years
You guys should try a series where one of you flies Economy while the other flies Business on the same flight - to compare experiences. I think that would be very interesting :)
Really not a fan of the new seatmap animations and presentation at 2:55 to 3:53, it's way too busy, and the animations are jarring, the "faux code" looks ridiculous as well. It's overall quite unpleasant. I hope you'll revert to the older style, Dan. Worth trying I suppose, but a definite L here, IMO.
I just came back from Dubai on 12/31/22. My experience with them was amazing. I’d never been to Dubai, flown on Emirates, or experienced an international business class product. When the option was given to me to upgrade from economy to business (for $1800), I took them up on the offer. My flight was a 14.5hr non-stop from Miami to Dubai. For someone who’s never been in an international business class seat, it’s a serious upgrade and I loved it…even if there may be better seat layouts available. The FAs were so attentive to me throughout the flight, even calling me to the galley for a photo op and to share some tips for my visit to Dubai. I’m not one who generally sleeps on planes, but with a nice little mattress topper and quilt and a full lie flat seat on the 777, I slept for almost 9hrs straight. I was in 11A which also meant I had 3 window seats. On my return flight. I had the option to upgrade again and I tried to but there was a glitch in the Emirates system which prevented the upgrade…so economy it was, again on a 777…for 16.5hrs While the in-flight service was fantastic, there’s no way to truly get comfortable and / or sleep on a 16.5hr flight in economy. Overall I really enjoyed my flights and I know everyone has different experiences. I found the check in process in Miami was an absolute mess because of the small seating area at the gate. In Dubai, everything was smooth. Customs and check in were a breeze. I can’t wait to fly Emirates again. Perhaps one day in a first class suite or even in their revamped premium economy.
Hi Dan, love the videos! Recently was considering purchasing with miles emirates Athens to Newark on the dreaded 700. However, I reached out to them and they said all 700s now have the foot rest and mini bar… have you also heard this? Some things I read just some but they made it sound like all… thanks for any insight!
Sorry but their neighbors dont provide the qsuite only 20% on their network due to their problems… so EK Remain the best in the region. Also took it from tunis… tunis dont have high demand on business the reason why qatar send a330 old cabin their also.
I remember going on my first big overseas trip on one of these in 2011 as a teen. It was amazing with the mood lighting and the PTV’s in economy and the stars in the ceiling. Even now I think the economy it’s a damn good product, and overall this plane is still nice
