My mom, husband, baby, and I flew Emirates first class from Washington, D.C to Cairo, Egypt over Thanksgiving 2021. We used 2 different credit cards to transfer miles to Emirates Airways.
Paid
First Class 150,000 miles + $207 tax
Business Class 110,000 miles + $207 tax
Lap Infant 10% of fare $1,200
We paid $1,821 vs. $37,200 for 3 first class tickets and 1 lap infant

This looks amazing! Finding award space for first class this December to Dubai is a struggle. I hope we’re able to upgrade upon checkin cause there are first class seats available with cash.

This is exactly what I'm trying to do!! I'm flying DXB to JFK in August and they only had J awards. I am going to show up early to persistently request the upgrade for 54k each. Can't freaking wait. Thanks for the video - glad I found your content. New subscriber!!

No, I didn't get medical insurance for Dubai. I had an overnight layover. I also used the free hotel voucher from Emirates and they put us up at the Le Meriden.

I seriously thought you were alone until I saw the 5 second description of the caviar by your husband and the 1 second clip of your mom's seat. I personally think they should have participated a little more especially since they knew you were making a video.

Great review! Traveling as a couple, did you find the center seats to be at all constricted? Curious if you’d ultimately prefer the window seats (if circumstances permitted).

Because the baby was under 2, you are only required to pay taxes which doesn't come with his own seat. If you want your baby to have their own seat, you'll have to pay the full adult fare.

@@1denisebooth We used Air Canada miles for the return flight to fly Etihad Airways. I would suggest booking in advance. You'll have more flight options available to you using miles.

Absolutely Love this review !!! A year ago we flew from Dubai to San Francisco first class using 155.000k points each from amex . It was the best experience ever !!! But we didn't have a shower in it it was 777 plane . We are planning to travel this time from Dubai to Rome 108.000k points each This time we are planning to fly with our infant 🥰 Question how do I pay 10% for my new born baby ? Cause when I try to book it online on Emirates website it shows that I have to spend 102k points for each person including my baby... I would prefer to pay 10% which comes up to abkut $650 instead of using 108k points fory infant Would really appreciate tips on it !

The agents weren't familiar with upgrading and had to consult with their supervisor on how to do it. I let them know how much it should have been and that there were seats available.

Why would it be classless? I travel in First often and normally frown when I see infant's. However, if they are well behaved it's a non issue. But classless? You have coach written all over your face.
