Hi Em, i met Pete Conway (Robbie Williams dad) in The Encore in Las Vegas in 2019 and he joined us for breakfast. He said with his Stoke and its pottery background he always looks at the bottom of plates when he is abroad to see where they come from. And surprise surprise - made in the UK, Stoke. So Stoke pottery travels far !!
Middleport pottery is where they filmed the pottery throwdown, its worth a visit when you're visiting emma Bridgewater again, it does not have painting facilities but beautiful pottery & even has a house set up on harper Street like they used to be, i think in the 50s. I moved here from Liverpool & didn't know it was called the potteries, it is so sad how many have closed down. Definitely worth looking into as there is gladstone pottery & the glost house in longton pottery. Oatcakes are so yummy you need to try them with cheese & bacon, mmmmm. They're like an oat savoury pancake

Having been there I’d say that maybe your sponge was too wet and that made some of the stamps a bit smudged. They always look better when fired tho so I’m sure you’ll be really pleased with your finished mug. It was a brilliant design choice xx
