Emma can get out of here with the BS. She gave Henry up for adoption, not even an open one either. For over 10 years she never tried to find him or look for him. @@thunberbolttwo3953yeah, they originally tried to do that until they figured out about everything she did. Regina killed her father, innocent children, destroyed lives and families. If I gave a kid up for adoption, and then years later discovered they were being raised by someone who did all of that, I would be exactly like how Emma was in this scene too, and possibly worse. I love Regina as a character and how far she comes by the end of the show, but she deserved everything that came to her in this season, because this is right after the curse was broken, and everyone discovered that she had imprisoned them for 28 years all for her revenge plot.

How are people blaming Emma here? I mean, did you guys see what Regina did in the series leading up to this? She enslaved, raped, and later murdered Graham, she stripped everyone in Storybrooke of their happiness for nearly three decades, she fed dozens of innocent children to the Blind Witch, framed Mary, tried to kill Emma several times, deliberately tried to convince Henry he was delusional, and more. Yeah, people don't trust her off the bat. Can you blame them?
@rgm0005
@rgm0005 9 лет назад
***** You know who else's memories Regina erased? Henry's. After he disagreed with her plan to kill everyone he loved. See, does Regina love Henry? Yeah, in her own twisted way. But if she's proven anything, it's that it's...a twisted way and that she can and will hurt people, including him.
@rgm0005
@rgm0005 9 лет назад
Twisted because of Snow? Um, no, especially not the former. At best you can say that Snow told a secret when she was was ten years old, but even ignoring the fact that you should no better than to rely on ten year olds to keep secrets, it didn't actually matter. We saw in the next Regina focused episode that Cora had put up a barrier to keep her from escaping. We also saw that Cora had the globe that could track down her blood relatives. We also saw Cora's magical power. Regina never had any hope of escaping with Daniel, just as Daniel never had any hope of surviving. Now, you might be able to claim Cora's responsible for Regina...except still no, because all the horrible things Regina did happened long after Cora was gone and she mostly did it to people who didn't deserve it. Cora wasn't the one who made Regina murder an entire village. She didn't make Regina take Graham's heart and rape him countless times. She didn't make her send innocent children into the blind witch's house to get eaten. She didn't make her strip away the happiness of countless innocent people. Yeah, a lot of people wanted to hurt Regina after the curse, on account of the fact that she ruined all their lives for nearly three decades. And Regina has flat-out said she wasn't sorry for it, either. But you know what, after Emma and Snow and Charming stopped the mob--for no reason except for Henry--the towns people agreed to stop and never made any further attempts. Even though Regina, you know, proceeded to go on to try and kill them all and to destroy the magic beans that were their only way home. Don't paint this as if Regina was justified in her efforts to murder innocent people, because she sure as hell wasn't. Nothing that happened to her justifies even a fraction of what she did, and loving Henry (who she flat-out told to his face wasn't enough) doesn't make it all okay.
@rgm0005
@rgm0005 9 лет назад
Um. What? No, that really wasn't even remotely Snow's fault--who was ten years old and manipulated by Cora from the beginning (as in, since she murdered Snow's own mother). She was not at fault for anything. It was Cora's fault that she was a monster and, as I noted before, there was never any real chance of her letting Daniel live. Just like it was Regina's fault for all the lives she ruined of her own free will.
@rgm0005
@rgm0005 9 лет назад
Um. And from Tinker Bell. And the Genie. And Snow. All of whom tried to help her at great risk to themselves and who she betrayed and/or tried to kill. Hell, quite a few people have tried to help Regina over the course of the show, she just does stuff like toss them in pits. You really can't say no one has given Regina a chance because she's gotten dozens. And yes, Regina thought Snow was to blame...because she's kind of crazy. Cora literally ripped Daniel's heart out in front of her.

Regina didn't know Henry was a Charming when she adopted him. She found about a week later after the sealed records of the birth parents were send to her. When she found out she wanted to take him back to the adoption agency, but at the last minute she had change of heart. FYI, Regina raised him, he named him, not Emma. She adopted him, because she was lonely, she wanted someone to love her. And back then, there was no one to love her, she killed her father (the only person she ever loved), and Cora was a piece of **it, and on top of it her own mother killed her fiancé right in front of her. Regina is Henry's mother, whether some people like it or not. By the end of the series, Regina finally found the family she always needed. Which unfortunately includes Emma, not a fan of her by the way.

I think the thing that is being overlooked here is that during the course of Season 1, Emma developed a bond with Henry and realized that she DID want to be his mother and that she made a mistake in giving him up. She told Henry in one of the late Season 1 eps that she wanted to him to be with her "more than anything". It was around this time that Regina was wreaking havoc, kidnapping and framing people for murder. Emma realized that Regina was sociopathic. She didn't want Henry raised under this environment any longer. She wasn't just acting out of maternal instincts and emotion, but she was also using reason and logic. Regina was losing it, almost killing Henry in trying to kill Emma. In the heat of the moment here, when Emma says that Henry is her son, she's thinking of Henry's well-being in addition to the fact that she loves Henry as her son. The rest of this episode clearly shows that Emma herself has serious doubts that she can be a good mother to Henry because she's never done it before, but she knows that it's in Henry's best interests that she give her best effort for his sake.

I get that Regina raised him, I get Emma only knew him for a little while, however, I think they both have valid points. Emma is trying to protect the child who she couldn’t keep but eventually found her and asked her for help. As far as Emma is concerned she has only seen that Regina is willing to hurt people and that her son almost died after begging for her help. On the flip side Regina is used to always getting what she wants (because she takes it) and has raised Henry since he was a baby. She has learned to love this child despite the evil she has endured and dished out. She feels like she must defend her family from an invader even though she has caused all of the problems. (The curse, killing Archie) I see both points and to be honest if I were the law I would strip Regina of everything and put her in jail for murder. Meaning she would lose custody and with no next of kin and the birth mother there and willing to take him and being clean if the law for over 10 years the law would probably give her custody. Regina was wrong to hurt people and Emma was wrong to basically say all the time and love Regina had given is nothing but from an outside perspective Regina committed more than one crime she doesn’t deserve custody. And don’t forget she did poison her own son even if she didn’t mean to.

I feel bad for Emma. You know, Regina stole her childhood. Ripped it from her just minutes after she was born. She was barely held. Then, she was rushed to a wardrobe, through murderous soldiers who almost killed her father and her. All because of Regina. Now that woman is raising her son, and from what she has seen, Regina is not being a good mother.

I love how everyone just forgets that Emma didn't even WANT Henry. A closed adoption means NO CONTACT at all. Not to mention how Henry was the one who went looking for her, not the other way around. The only reason Emma wants to be his mother now, is because she's seen the life he's had with Regina and realises that she wants her roll in her son's life. If Henry had never gone looking for her, she would have never even bothered to look for him. I can understand why Henry himself is angry with Regina (I would to with half the things she's done) but the truth is, she IS a better mother to him than Emma could ever be.

I felt like it was really disrespectful on emma's part to be yelling it in regina's face like that. Let alone didn't even give regina credit or acknowledge her for raising her son after SHE GAVE HIM UP and still dumped him on regina's porch after she found out. Why are there still Emma vs Regina debates? this was 3 seasons ago. They've found their rhythm, whats the point in arguing about it? Fact is, Regina may have loved and protected him after Emma gave him up but she also wasn't a perfect mother and made him feel isolated because of her curse. When he began to suspect the truth about everyone in town, she tried to convince him he was just a little kid with a wild imagination and that there was nothing to what he was feeling. He didn't like the way he was living, wasn't happy, so he went to find Emma. Emma wasn't willing to take care of him but she care about him and wanted to make sure he was in good hands. So she stayed in Storybrooke in order to see why Henry was so against his mother. She moved into Mary Margaret's place and began to warm up to him, she was by no means a motherly figure but Henry did need her there. After the curse was broken, and Henry began to truly resent Regina, he got closer to his grandparents and started staying with them in their apartment. However, just because he resented her for the things she had done to the residents of Storybrooke and the way she treated his biological family members, he still appreciated the things she had done for him while he was growing up and still loved her as a mother and wanted to help her. He did just that and now there are no issues with the whole situation anymore. Fact is, Henry needed Emma in his life when he brought her to Storybrooke, and when Pan tried to curse everyone, but he also loved Regina and need her in his life up until that point. He needed both of them at different times, and now he needs both of them at the same time. The parenting issues have been resolved between the two. Be happy.

Whatever Regina did or wanted to do she did it out of fear of losing her son. Understandably so as she tends to lose everyone she loves. Emma biologically being Henry's mother means NOTHING! That's not what makes a mother. Nobody stole him from her she willingly gave him away and from the moment Regina adopted him he was her son in every way she raised him, loved him and cared for him. She has 10 long years of motherhood with him. I understand that Emma got close to him and they have a relationship but it really irritates me when she tries to take over or make decisions. Regina IS HIS mother, I really love that we get to see more of their relationship in season 3. I just wish Emma would know her place she isn't the mother who raised him, she gave him up for godsake! She seriously needs to get it through her head that he belongs with Regina, of course she'll continue to be a part of his life but he's Regina's son no matter what she has no right to disregard the fact that he was adopted as she well knows and that he has a mother who has been raising him all these years. I feel like we get to see the real loving mother/son relationship between Henry and Regina in Season 3 now that all the betrayal and secrets are in the past. They really do love eachother and share a special bond. I am 100% behind Regina as Henry's mother.
@METerrell
@METerrell 10 лет назад
Really? Regina's trying to convince Henry that he was crazy was because she was afraid of losing her son? Brought him into a town where she knew that no one was aging, which would keep him from ever making friends, and decided to adopt a child because she was trying to fill a void. She also wiped his mind after telling him her plan of murdering everyone in Storybrooke just so she could have him all to herself. Regina's adoption was never legal as "Regina Mills" was an identity created by the curse, so Henry doesn't belong with Regina. And you're 100% behind someone who abused her kid, ripped other kids away from their parents, (Emma (if Snow and Charming hadn't sent her away, Regina would have killed her), Owen/Greg, Hansel and Gretel), sent kids into a place where they would die, slaughtered a village which undoubtedly had children, and had a vendetta against a child (Snow) for something her own mother did.

Is it just me, or does anyone feel that at best Emma is more of a big sister to Henry? Regina, I buy her as being Henry's mom more, for reasons like she's a bit older and to me has more of that mom look (when she's not plotting to kill someone). I also see her as being more of an authority figure than I do Emma: like the way Regina told Henry not to argue with Emma once, I feel that I would buy that more coming from her than I would if it came from Emma. Anyone else feel that way, or is it just me?
@Cassandra765
@Cassandra765 7 лет назад
I think there is more than one type of motherly figure and I don't think one is necessarily better than the other. Just because Emma is more laid back doesn't mean she's never put her foot down with Henry or that she wouldn't if she had to. Maybe season 1 Emma would be hesitant to do, but I don't think the person she's become now would be afraid to. Regina is more strict, but she can also be a bit more possessive of Henry at times, which I don't think is necessarily a good thing. But at the end of day, I think they are both good parents to Henry.

I felt bad for Regina here, but cut the heroes some slack. Trust isn't built in a few days. And it takes more than a couple of goods deeds to make up for YEARS of bad ones. And they are still coming off of remembering that they are fairytale people who were cursed and spent 28 years in misery, unable to find happiness because of her. Again, I feel bad for Regina because I know she was innocent here, but not enough to forget that she's done a lot to earn this animosity and mistrust. And as for Emma not being Henry's mother, imo, she is in every sense of the word. She's earned that right at this point. Almost everything she's done since Henry came back into her life has been for Henry. She is every bit his mom. Just like Regina is. And when considering some of Regina's very recent bad decisions, I can understand why Emma would want to protect Henry from that.

But their bad deeds don't magically wipe away all of Regina's, so my original comment still stands. They still have more than enough reasons not to trust Regina. And as for them "making" Regina, I'm sorry but I call BS on that. Yes, Regina has had bad things happen to her and yes, certain people in her life (Cora and Rumple) have done a lot to put Regina on the path to darkness. But it's not like she had absolutely no free will. She had also been given a few opportunities to make better choices and instead chose to give in to her anger and hatred. Yes, I understand that, but I will never agree with the idea that all of these villains are merely victims of circumstance and nothing more, because it's simply not true. Evil isn't just made by the things that happen to us, they're also made by the choices we make. I've seen both Regina and Rumple be given chances to be better people and then slap it away because they'd rather have power, vengeance and hatred. That's on them and no one else. And the pain they inflict on innocent people who have done nothing to them is also on them.

I'm not saying that Emma wasn't important to Henry being alive because well duh she was. I'm saying that yes Emma carried Henry for nine months but that's it! Regina is the one who raised him who taught him how to walk, to talk, who spent countless sleepless nights with him. Regina adopted Henry, Henry is HER son not Emma's. You can give birth to something but once you give it up it is no longer yours to claim as your own, that right is taken away once you give said thing up, in this case Henry. Emma is his birth mom that does not mean she is his REAL mom.

HOLY DAMN WE ARE TALKING ABOUT ADOPTION HERE!!!! My whole problem is that Emma wanted the best for her son, so she made a hard decision and gave him up, so someone else could be his mom. And now Emma thinks she can just come in and basically say to Regina "no, he is not your son he is mine." Putting you kid up for adoption is not letting someone else to take care of your child while you sort your shit out. This is why state give the mother about a month to change their mind after that time has passed they can no longer claim them. I honestly don't think you are grasping what I'm trying to say, its pointless at this point to continue.

I love how everyone forgets the stuff that Regina did to Henry in season 1. She made him go to therapy and made him seem like he was all crazy and such. She tried to "protect him" (by protecting herself) by lying to him his whole life and forcing him to live in a cursed world (where he grew up and no one else did along with forgetting many of those memories). And what she did to Emma before Emma was even born. She cast a dark curse where it forced her to be separated from her parents. To live out in the streets and go from orphanage to orphanage never having an actual family. and resenting her parents who didn't even know she existed because they were forced to live in a cursed world (where they weren't even together!). For her to be pressured in not screwing up to unleash said curse and bring out everyone's happy endings. Let's not forget some shady stuff that Regina did in season one that no one talks about (because obviously it's a show) with the number one being Graham's death and her practically taking full on advantage of him. She tortured Snow for most of her life and forced Snow to go into hiding (losing her parents in the process and her kingdom). Regina has killed A LOT of people. I still like Regina as a character overall and she paid the price a lot but in this instance I find it's easy to understand why Emma and the Charmings considered her dangerous. Also wish the whole Graham thing was mentioned...but gonna excuse the writers on that one. Plus I loved the fact that Emma screamed that out like she had that built up. Some people say that was the point they didn't like her, but I think the opposite. Emma let a lot of things slide and it was refreshing to see her built up anger. In this case she truly thought Regina was dangerous (and her track record wasn't good) and Emma had enough. I mean end of season one Regina tried to poison Emma and as a result Henry got hurt because of her carelessness and selfishness. I wish Emma used more of that anger with Neal but that's another topic. Obviously throughout the seasons her friendship with Regina got way better and I think they both respected one another at the end. Plus Henry went to seek out Emma. Henry was aware of Regina casting the curse and needed help from Emma to break it. Henry considered Regina a bad person.. Henry wanted to get to know his biological mother. Henry was ready to forgive because he knew Emma's decision to give him up was one of the hardest things she's ever done.

Regina IS Henry’s mother. Blood doesn’t mean shit, Regina raised Henry, took him in and gave it her all to give him the life and love she never got. Even if it was handled wrong, she still tried - considering she didn’t know what the love of a mother felt like. She was there for Henry’s first words and first steps, she changed every nappy, went thru every tantrum, sleepless nights, every fever, first birthday, first Christmas, first Easter, first everything. She IS his mother. It’s nice that Emma wants to be in Henry’s life again, and I (personally) think she has a right to be. But let’s not forget that for 10 years of Henry’s life, Regina was the only person who loved him - even if it was a little controlling and abusive. She even said herself “I don’t know how to love very well.”

Storybrookes Hunt just being his biological mother doesnt make Emma his mother. It just means she gave birth to him. Being a mother to a child is far more than giving birth. There are many other facts in the mix

She didn't want to give him up, she wanted him to have a good life and probably thought about him every day. Just like when she cried when they took him. She was being a mother by putting his needs over her own love for the child. She grew to love him. She listened him when no one else did. She is as much as a mother as Regina. The woman who doubted everything he said and drove him so upset he crossed a country to find someone that has the Dna to love him.

ElizabethRoseX Makeup Henry crossed the country to get Emma to break the curse. If looking back on season 1 Henry is all about Emma breaking the curse. He didnt cross the country to find someone to love him. In Henrys young mind, Regina (his mother) was evil and had no love for him due to the fact she was the evil queen. In season 1 Henry based everything off the storybook he had.

I feel like everybody hates on Emma for the scene, and while I agree that yes Regina is also his mother, I feel like everybody just kindly forgets that this is really early on in the show and she’s literally murdered people in cold blood not that long ago. One of whom with someone she brainwashed and used as a sex toy. Also Henry himself says that Emma is his mom because Regina makes him feel unloved unwanted and crazy. I’m not saying it’s right but I’m saying the same is super important to set up a baseline for the character development and relationships development we saw between all three characters as the show progressed. Also sometimes the best thing you can do for your child is give him to a family that will give him a better life and that doesn’t make you any less his mother because it is a tremendous sacrifice made out of pure love for the child in this case Henry. Edit: just realized I commented twice. Oh well I am really annoyed with how people react to this one scene

I honestly cannot understand why everyone is jumping to Regina's defense. Does no one remember that she almost killed Henry at the end of season 1 and only failed because Emma managed to save him? Or that she threatened his therapist if he didn't convince Henry that he was crazy? Or that she tried to kill his parents and grandparents multiple times? Or that she was emotionally and physically abusive? Emma might have given Henry up for adoption, but that was only because she was trying to do what was best for him even if it meant doing something that she didn't want to do. When she realized that he wasn't better off, she moved to Storybrooke to make sure she could look out for him and give him someone who would nurture him instead of abuse him. Henry could be himself with Emma; Regina tried to mold him into her perfect son by any means necessary, including emotional torment and physical abuse. So what if Regina raised him? Yes she changed his diapers took care of him when he was sick. Those aren't the marks of a great parent; they're the bare minimum requirements of being a decent parent. Taking care of someone's basic needs doesn't justify abusing them and neglecting their emotional and psychological needs. Children don't just need food and shelter; they need security and love. It's clear from five seasons that Regina never gave him the latter. She never encouraged his individuality or imagination; she punished him for it. She didn't attempt to get him out of his social isolation; she fostered it. There are several times when we see that Henry is outright terrified of her; a good parent doesn't inspire terror in their children.

Throughout the later seasons on the show Henry as grown so much closer to Regina and they have the best scenes in the show together! I feel the actor who plays Henry has more chemistry on screen with Lana aka Regina than with Emma. Emma has no right to call Henry her son since she hasn't actually done any of the proper mother things like first day at school, teaching him to walk, talk etc.
@talshemesh
@talshemesh 8 лет назад
+PomegranatesAndDroids ok first of all, Regina never tried to kill Henry. Everything she's done was in order to protect him, or what she thought will keep him by her side. the moment she understood henry took the apple she was horrified and heartbroken, and cooperated with Emma to save him. She tried to kill Henry's "grandparents" even before Henry existed, and him being related to them has nothing to do with it. if you'll searched the family tree you'll see it's impossible to find someone that is NOT related to henry somehow. I totally understand regina for going after the charmings, especially after what snow did to her. she held a grudge, which she already let go of by now. And yes she made Archie lie to henry, but she didn't want her son to see her as an evil queen, can you blame her? she did love him, a lot. that much that after she found out his birth mother was the savior, she kept him and drank a potion to make her forget so it won't disturb her raising him. In season 2 we see paintings Henry painted for Regina, calling her "mommy" and you can see they had a very good relationship before this storybook thing. She did much more than change his diapers- she soothed him, she loved him, she sacrificed everything she had built for him. He was the one thing that made her heart whole, that filled that gape in her heart after the dark curse. "bare minimum"? she gave her son everything she had, all the time and all the love possible. once he started seeing her an the evil queen she got panicked- she didn't want the curse broken and she didn't want him to hate her. when she saw henry doesn't want to be with her, she let him go with david, because she knew what's best for her child, and she knew holding him with her won't do him any good. she was selfless and loving, and that's the most important thing in a mother: to always put your child first. Emma gave him up and never even thought about him for 10 years. when he arrived in her house she said "son? i don't have a son". she didn't come back to storybrooke to save him, she came because he pretty much blackmailed her (clever henry ;). And what claim does Emma have on Henry? both legally and logically, she has no right to bump into his life and take him from his mother. she signed on a CLOSED ADOPTION, she intended on never seeing him again, she didn't care. if she did she wouldn't sign a closed adoption. And Regina was the one to raise him in the past 10 years, she knows him and he's the only thing she truly loves. and suddenly his birth mother decides to show up and stay to keep an eye on him. then she moves in and spends more and more time with him. then she takes him to herself claiming she knows what's best for him, and suddenly regina is the one begging for some quality time with her son?? suddenly he's emma's son and regina is second best? at what right? Henry is Regina's son, plain and simple.
@BrokenTourniquet
@BrokenTourniquet 8 лет назад
tal shemesh It doesn't matter that killing Henry wasn't her intention. What matters is that she put her child in danger in order to satisfy her own petty jealousy and insecurities by killing Emma, the one person whom Henry loved and trusted at the time. I can't believe I have to explain why attempted murder is not an attribute of a good parent. Good parents don't willingly put their children in danger. Regina cares so little about Henry's well-being that she made him feel like he was crazy (that's called gaslighting, which is a recognized form of child abuse), isolated him from the entire town so that it was impossible for him to make any friends, and systematically tried to kill his entire family. She used physical force and magic to imprison him in her home to further keep him isolated from the birth family that he was just starting to know. In real life, when a parent gives up their child and asks for a closed adoption, that pretty much ends their involvement in the child's life unless the child seeks a relationship down the road and the parent reciprocates that notion. That's exactly what happened in the pilot. Henry sought Emma out; not the other way around. It wasn't like Emma up and decided one day that she wanted him back. He came to her, sad, scared, and lonely, and she came back into his life because she cared. If you can claim that Emma didn't care about Henry, then you and I clearly aren't watching the same show. She was devastated when she gave him up for adoption, but she was 18, an orphan, and in prison serving someone else's sentence. She didn't want him to grow up like she did and she felt like she had nothing else to offer him. She made a selfless decision in an impossible situation. When she took Henry home and she saw that he did indeed grow up like she did, she made it her mission to be there for him as a friend, since she didn't feel like she had a right to be his mom. But Regina had even less of a right to claim to be Henry's mom because she was abusive. When you abuse your child, you lose the right to call yourself a parent. We never see Regina do any of the things that she claims. We never see her nurse a sick Henry back to health. We never see her show him any affection or genuine concern prior to the curse breaking. We never see her put his needs first. That's what she tells Emma, but unfit parents lie and say they're good parents all the time. All we see from Regina is a disregard for Henry as anything other than a possession to her that she thinks can be stolen by another person.
@miloradvlaovic

+PomegranatesAndDroids It's funny that some people can't comprehend the simple notion that Regina is not a good mother. Giving a child for adoption does not make one automatically a bad parent, it's not a bad thing per se. There are countless instances in which it's actually a responsible, or loving thing to do. Emma's case is an example of it. It's not that she did not want him, she deemed herself unworthy and unfitting to raise him, in given conditions. She was objective and she decided to put the needs of the child before her love and affection. I like Regina, but I'm not some idiotic fanboy. Not only that she abused him, kept him pretty much imprisoned as You said, lied to him etc., but she also, after all this went down, considered erasing his memory, and killing everyone else. See, what I hate about the OUAT "fanbase" is the fact that they have no objectivity of whatsoever. None, and it's terrifying actually. If they like a character, given character is absolved of all the sins instantaneously. So a person that punished the x amount of people driven by her petty need for revenge, most of which completely innocent, who killed a vast amount of people and who had all this, let's face it psychopathic urges, is somehow a benefiting parent because she did not destroy what was essential and object of her obsession. But fed and dressed him. Compliments for even mentioning this, for the sever backlash was an obvious outcome >.

+miloradvlaovic i never said she was a good person. she was horrible (more reasons why i like her but nvm :P ) but she WAS a good mother to Henry until that whole story book thing that lasted for a half a year. you could see she truly loved him and vice versa by the way he protected her after the curse was broken, the way she tried to change for him, the paintings he made for her as a child writing "mommy" on them, the fact she kept them all this time, the way we learn in season 3 that she erased her own memories and sacrificed the curse in order to be a better mom for Henry. it was much more than dressing and feeding him, i dont understand how cant you possibly see it. was she wrong in season 1? yes. but she was afraid and jealous of Emma, and she didn't want the curse to be broken. she thought she could have Henry AND the curse, but when it came to saving henry or helping Emma to break the curse, she didn't hesitate for a second. the way she cried over his body when they were sure pan killed him (she was in a much worse state than Emma, just saying), the way she sent him with David when she saw staying with her is not what's best for him at the moment.. really HOW can't you see it? i don't say she was a good person back in season 1, she was a villain. but Henry was the one thing she truly loved, even in her state, and people can be bad to others and still be good parents for their children, as long as they both love each other.

Ok so believe me I love Regina but keep in mind at this point shes not a good mother and hasn't been for a long time. She abused Henry by trying to convince him he was crazy. Which is definitely abuse. She manipulated the people Henry thought he could trust to make her life happy while not thinking about Henry's Happiness.(by threatening Archie to manipulate Henry). Emma at this point has been sought out by her son who she had no intention of interfering with until she saw how lonely his life was; which paralleled her own life. Emma at this point has more of right to raise Henry because her entire life has been about sacrificing her happiness for Henry's. She gave him up to give him his best chance. Right now she is the better mother. Now as far as legal custody goes even if we ignore crimes in the enchanted forest. She has murdered by this point(Graham) and framed an innocent person for murder. So if the legal system were involved Regina would have lost custody. Now maybe you could then make an argument that Cora would be the next to get him but given that she has her own history of abusing Regina, Emma would be the best candidate. Now Regina goes though a lot to redeem her self and I do think she becomes a great mother as time goes on but right now she not healthy for Henry.

She named him after the Father she loved so much, who she murdered to enact a curse for her own selfish sick and twisted desires. She didn't love Henry until she nearly lost him. She learned to love something someone. Then After she proved she didn't want to be an evil bitch anymore things got better, they are better. Okay, I might be going out on a limb here, but why can't they BOTH be Henry's mum? Yes Emma had no right to say what she did - it was cruel and untrue for sooo many reasons - but I don't think there's any need for this argument. Regina is more his mum than Emma is, that's true (she's his support, his rock, the person he runs to when he needs a cuddle) but Emma has become a major part of his life as well and that should be acknowledged. At the same time, Regina wasn't always a great mum for Henry, she actually treated him pretty horribly in some ways (e.g. pushing him unnecessarily, lying to him and manipulating him) in the first season. My point is, neither of them are the perfect parent and both of them are important to Henry for different reasons. Emma said this three seasons ago - why are we arguing about this?

Both were scared they would completely take over his life and when finding out that she is the evil queen, Emma was scared Henry could be hurt by her magic. Maybe she could've given her a chance , but I find the incident that put him under a sleeping curse made her a lot more wary since her magic put him under a spell he almost didn't wake up from.

They do eventually both become his mom. They are both very strong, beautiful, powerful, yet still very stubborn women who just had to learn to trust each other first and realize that Henry loved BOTH of them and that they could both share the title of "Mommy" and not lose him. And you're right....while Regina wasn't always the perfect Mom for Henry, she raised him....she was there for all the late night bottle feeds, the tantrums, the times when he was sick and through his first years of school and she felt very threatened when Emma showed up out of the blue claiming SHE was his mother AND nurturing his belief in fairy tales to boot. But eventually, she learned to trust Emma that Emma wouldn't take Henry from her. And Emma, while she IS Henry's biological mother, hasn't been perfect either. She gave Henry up and lost the first ten years of his life, HE had to go find HER, and then she has moments like this where she's challenging Regina's right to parenthood....not to mention other things like when she was the Dark One and when she was just learning magic and fled from everyone, including her son.

Regina abused Henry. Pure and simple. Yes, she changed in later seasons and became a better parent. It doesn't wash away all her past actions. Emma gave Henry up for adoption because she was unable to care for him and wanted to give him his best chance. Regina was going to give him up because Emma was his mother and she didn't want her curse broken. Guys, stop being dumb and actually think about things for more than two seconds. Food, shelter and clothing are only part of being a parent. A larger part is love. Emma gave Henry the love he had craved for so long and to a child, that matters far more than everything else.
