Thank you for this fabulous content...I am helping as many as I can to get out safely with their children. Recently a lady came to me for help with something else and the root cause was discovered, she had 9 years of torture and had left once before. She is finally free.

We need more therapists who are educated in coercive control. Also need more therapists who believe you and are willing to stand up for you and NOT minimize what coercive controllers do!!!

Maybe it (coercive subtle control) 's just a legal terminology to describe covert narcissism with it's own three stages: Idealization, devaluation, discard, hoover, and back to idealization. Idealization starts fast and feels heavenly and intense...

I’m planning to leave my husband. Saw my shrink yesterday, seeing my lawyer today. He has a file cabinet with all the statements I need, but I’m too afraid to go in his office. How do you explain that to someone?!? I can’t leave a light on, turn the heater up, use the espresso machine, leave a door open….

Please don't go somewhere where he can trace you. Don't go to a family members home. Go somewhere that he would never think you would go. Also, treating a grown woman like a child is wrong and you should never have to have to experience it again. I wish you the best.

But it don't just happen With relationships. It can go on In families as well With children Under care Of Different family members. Where that child doesn't actually belong to that person.

Goodness help the women who have had a change of residency because they weren’t believed. They stop you seeing the children. Any contact is so regimented. There’s absolutely no help.
