There's no comparison. Iga is vulnerable on grass and Elina got more experienced on grass but Iga still gave her a tough match. Iga would stomp both their asses on hard courts
First two sets were super high quality. Shame the lack of matches caught up to Emma in the third. Still showing pretty good signs headed into Melbourne. Already at this level a run to the second week isn't unthinkable. She's always had the talent. Hopefully now she can stay healthy.
I like your analysis she isn't dumb and not cocky either she says she is playing very well ! I believe her and I'm ready to bet on her ! Slight longshot but not that much I don't think!!
It was a good match. For Emma Raducanu it's all about her fitness and stamina levels now. If she can achieve them, she'll win lots of matches, because her ball striking is very good.
Yep this is it, people don’t realise but she’s been injury-prone since she was a junior. The same applied to Draper. It’s a damming indictment on the LTA really, as they knew they were top-tier talents. Thankfully they’ve hired someone now to properly keep on top of the strength + conditioning of the best juniors.
One at the top of their game one out for 8 months so well done Emma considering everything she did very well . Hope she does really well for the rest of the year
I was glued to my TV for this whole of this match; the first two sets were amazing with virtually nothing to separate them. Then Emma ran out of steam and appeared to show some lower back discomfort? I was waiting for a question about the need to strap her thigh but it never came. Another relaxed and polished interview by a far more mature young lady.
Faut pas désespérer ce n'est qu'un début la prochaine fois ce sera la bonne je te souhaite bonne chance pour les prochains matchs prend soin de toi que du bonheur pour toi bisous Emma raducanu ❤
She played very well if she just could have took the point at 4-3 break point that would have set her up nicely she was the underdog and outplayed svitolina at times which sets her up for a successful season I reckon
@@harrys1505 I think she speaks very well considering her age and she is also very consciously aware of the media and it is amazing that she manages the media with so much confidence. I would not say it is arrogance. On the contrary, her manner is quite professional for a woman so young her age conducting herself so well in front of the fierce tennis media that can be so brutal at times.
I have never heard Emma sounding anything other than humble, respectful and sweet. She isn't arrogant at all. I watched her match the other day and heard her thanking the ball girls which is quite rare I think. @@harrys1505
Emma, At one gym I went to they had a Nautilus machine that had pedals for your arms and wrists when you sit on the seat. Basically you can bruise your wrists and ankles. Getting the blood flowing around them without putting much pressure on the wrists and ankles can allow your body to heal your wrists and ankles more quickly. When you are more healthy, you can use more resistance to build up further strength. But when you are just trying to recover quickly, you want to use very little resistance for both your wrists and your ankles. The increased blood flow through increased movement in the specific areas will cause your wrists and ankles to heal faster. Thus you want to increase the blood flow without increasing the pressure your wrists and ankles come under. Usually you have to use two different machines to do this. You want to put the least amount of pressure on your wrists and ankles as you can manage. However, you want to put enough pressure on them to avoid the machine causing jerkiness due to you getting the pedals going too fast to be under control. You want to be smooth; but you don't want to have to add to your injuries by applying too much more pressure. I hope this helps you. It should. Best Wishes Emma.
Emma is physically capable of winning majors, but desperately needs work closing out matches mentally. She needs to close out those matches faster vs trying to play hours on end.
It is not easy to play in top level. And after disaster in 2023 she has just come to Tennis world. Reaching 2nd round or 3rd round is ok for her because she does not have such game to surprise every time like once she has done in Wimbledon.
The only surprise about that interview is that it took so long for her to give the British press the cold shoulder. They like to write speculative garbage because her name gets cheap engagement.
if a Player isn't giving you anything you have to make things happen. Mix things up. Emma was up 5 -1 in the first , Elina fought back , second set was a toss up , 3rd set she was out of Gas wouldn't even run for a ball YES she needs to take it easy she has had major injuries. She played Good but Elina just played better. The difference between Leylah and Emma is , Leylah would at least Try to chase down every ball , Emma just gives up at a certain point. No one remembers how good you play they always Remember the Winner aka her winning the US OPEN.
@@robertmartin7594 CALM DOWN DEAR !! You'll feel much better when matron brings you a drink and the nice men in white coats return you to your padded room.
What country? OK,I'll give you a clue. When Emma won her US Open title she received a very warm and heartfelt congratulatory letter from our late Queen Elizabeth as well as congratulatory messages from the former Prime Minister Boris Johnson.Any ideas yet?😅😂
Better for now....just. wait for the rematch later on in the year and the result will be reversed!😂 as Svitolina admitted in her press conference, she was given the match of her life by Emma and rated this match as probably one of the two best matches she has ever played, the other being the defeat of Iga at Wimbledon last year!
@@andreasmissiroli Really? Very few professional sportspeople operate without a coach. In the case if Emma, she changes her coach every couple of months...
@@NightRider530 When an elite professional needs a coach to advise him her how to play , how to win matches this means the elite professional is doing the wrong job
Emma is always so articulate and speaks with great intelligence, She just needs to get Physically Stronger so she can play 3 to 4 hours and still be fit, Emmas Skill level is top notch, I havent seen anyone better, For Emma its all about the Physical side. I really hope she can achieve this as I want her to win many many titles, Super lady, Love Emma to bits,
Well, the reality is that Emma's a Slam champion at 18 while Svitolina isn't at the age of almost 30.😂 I'll wager a bet with you that Emma will win her second Slam before Svitolina can win her first. Why? Because Emma knows what it takes to win one whereas Svitolina doesn't! 😅😂
@@eyeofthetiger6002 Ridiculanu couldn't even win if she played Jake the Peg with the extra leg. She is the human equivalent of a chocolate fireguard. Hahahahaha
@@eyeofthetiger6002 Dude, is this a joke? She barely gets past first round at a grand slam now, she couldn't add points in this tournament either. Raducanu is the example that the WTA is a joke. A grand slam champion that doesn't have any other moreso significant achievement.
@@Ivanntu joke? No, just speaking the truth dude. Still not convinced? Well, just take a look at what Svitolina did to poor Bouzkova, seeded 5 and world no36 today. Svitolina won 6-0,6-3.😂🤣 Svitolina better make the most of it because she won't be so lucky the next time she plays Emma and not one just coming back from an 8 months injury hiatus.
Emma played out of her socks for the whole match. Her lack of recent match experience and match fitness just caught up with her game by game. On the evidence of this match her opponents in the AO will be very wary indeed.
@@Innerlight320That's simply factually incorrect. But you know that. Does it make your peepee feel good to troll about a young attractive tennis player?
She's *SO smart!* Here she is after an 8 month layoff and explaining that even during that time she was analysing the way her commercial sponsors were approaching what they do and working out how she can apply what she saw to her tennis. It's awesome.
She has always been this way. One of her early mentors at the LTA recalled that when he came to one of her matches to give her some advice when she was really young, he found out that Emma had already come well prepared with a notepad full of details and tactics about her opponent most of which he couldn't understand! 😂
Great to see you on your way back, first and second set showing great play, but lack of match fitness showed in the third, but a good tough match on your comeback! I'm watching, Emma! ~ R
Good to see her back, and with a new disposition. I really wanted to like her a couple years back, but she came across like a cocky spoiled jerk. While Fernandez was so appreciative and kind. I like the new Emma, and hope she does well with everything. Maybe she found Jesus.
I don't understand why do people think that having a 3 sets loss to a decent player is an indication that this girl is doing well? Players around top 51-100 regularly push decent players to 3 sets, but still can't make much progress in the ranking. I would say the level of this girl has always been around top 51-100, with the exception of US Open 2021. Her actual ranking right after US Open 2022 reflected that.
Maybe because "this girl"🙄, the former US open winner at her first attempt and Wimbo last 16 at her first attempt has not played a single set of competitive tennis in 9 months and having got through the first round in a long 3 setter it was expected by most people - me included - that lack of match fitness would show against Svitolina who would make very easy work of it. Not a 3 hour plus slog fest that Emma looked like winning at certain stages in the second before she ultimately ran out of gas in the 3rd. But hey - keep hating 👍
@@willsmith39 I'm not even hating. Svitolina, from what I understood, is also coming back from 4 months not playing. I just wouldn't be delighted with such results, if I am her fan or herself. The result is the same as last year, second round loss.
@@patrickforde7684 Why are you even here? I mean it's obviously not because you're a tennis fan. I'm here because I am and watched the whole 3 hours plus match and wanted to see what she'd taken away from it Did you even watch the match because something tells me you didn't. Anyway, happy trolling I guess mate, just seems a kind of sad way to live your life. "Brilliant"? Who said that? You're literally inventing stuff to be triggered by now😂
@@Ivanntu No sure you're not. Absolutely. You seem completely objective🙄 Svitolina was stated as the best comeback in 2023 given her results so now trying to make out she's a has been or something to minimise Emma's performance is kind of pathetic. Anyway - enjoy yourself. Maybe you an Patrick can go out for a drink together ( assuming you're not the same person) because I feel like you would have a lot in common. The thing is, I'm not even Emma's biggest fan, my bias is Coco and has been for ages. I just think the Raducanu hate is so lousy
An aura of arrogance. The disdain on her face for the media is clear. Just comes across as a very obnoxious person. She needs to change her attitude if she wants to win another single tournament. And try sticking with a coach for more than 5 minutes.
@@crazycatpetera1404its not about not liking emma, its simply funny to compare her with iga. It is just no right when someone is that much better than the other
