Perfectly-timed and well executed lobs and drop shots by Cornet which seem to have paralyzed Raducanu's pace and made a real difference between the two. 👏 There are interesting points in the vid which Emma plays surprisingly too casually for a pro tennis player and a GS champion, when Cornet is at the net and she has a decent chance for a passing shot or lob but hits on Cornet's body instead. It tells a lot about her mental level , imo, in comparison to the champ that we all watched last year!

I don't think it's anyone's problem if sponsors want to throw money at her. She puts people in seats, and viewers on telly. That's why she's given a boatload of money; nothing to do with results, and I have no problem with that. I am always perplexed why some people aren't getting this.

@@Brandon-qr2or Now imagine if she wasn't playing. I've only ever been to early rounds Wimbledon but the ladies early rounds (and also men's) aren't packed at all. But my point stands; there's a reason sponsors pay a whole load of money to attractive athletes, especially one that's successful. Results are fairly important, but not essential.

Tough draw for Raducanu and no surprise she lost , great use of the drop shot . Raducanu still hits a great ball but her game is low margin for error , attacking tennis , last year it all fell in to place and she was as playing with total freedom. The potential is there for sure as anyone who knows tennis can see. I like Raducanu’s serve but clearly that’s an area she can improve , right is she struggling to hold

Emma's movement is like Eugenie's. They plant themselves a little too early when hitting forehands. Her shots lack power cos she's not loose enough; she often takes the racquet back too early, resulting in too long a pause before initiating the swing

Emma just not at all the player she was in her 2021 U.S. Open when she was 18! I guess who ever decided to disband her coaching after her U.S. Open win, should get fired big time. Got be worse move in pro tennis history. Emma gone through 4-5 tennis coaches in a one year time frame. Emma now has a must more slower groundstrokes, slower 1st serve and court tactics are shaky. All around, a difference player in 2022! Emma ranking will fall after the Open to around the 80s. Qualifying tournament to get into main draw tournaments in the future! Wonder who she will pick as her next tennis coach #7?

Radacanu didn't play badly but Cornet is one of those players that other players prefer to avoid. Let's put things in perspective. Cornet was on the tour when Radacanu was in pre-school. Radacanu also needs to figure out a way to fix the blister problem. Open blisters aren't excruciating but they affect your grip on the racket and your ability to serve and hit hard. Anyone who doesn't believe me should try it and find out.

Raducanu receives the MBE as a teenager: Rex Williams, former billiards champ and top ten snooker player; who was one of those who brought snooker from smoky clubs to where it is today; who once took 31 frames off Alex Higgins before losing by the odd frame in 63, is, at the age of 87, given the reinstated BEM, a gong just above a Blue Peter badge. What does that tell you? By the way, Rex is truly British.
