Emma Raducanu vs Diane Parry 3rd Set Tiebreak @ Billie Jean King Cup 2024 Qualifiers France vs Great Britain Tie plus Match Statistics and Tie Results Summary. #emmaraducanu #dianeparry #bjkc #greatbritain #france
Emma really put her foot in this weekend. This is the Emma that made that US Open run. I'm super excited to see her take this form into the clay season ❤
@@erinhwang6389 Thanks for commenting. If Emma can win Stuttgart, that will be a big, big feather in her cap. 8 of the top 10 are playing there. I think Emma will beat Kerber in the 1st round and she's capable of beating Noskova or Ostapenko (#8), but if she does that, she will have to beat Iga (#1) in the quarters. That match I would love to see. Emma was competitive in a loss to Iga in their first matchup here in 2022. Iga will rightfully be the favorite but Emma, if she gets to the quarters, has the game to beat Iga. If she can beat Swiatek, it doesn't matter how she'll fare against, probably, Rybakina (#4) in the semis. or either Sabalenka or Gauff in the final. Beating Iga alone in this tournament would be a resounding statement that she is back to her US Open level.
Fabulous victory for GB in the lion's den. Don't underestimate the battle of talents, skills, minds and the passionate one-sided French crowd and certainly don't forget the personal health and fitness battle Emma has had with her recent surgeries etc. and don't underestimate the transition of Katie from 'nearly' to actual winner. Everyone is happy now and that's a wonderful thing to behold. The whole team is part of this win and should be rewarded handsomely.
Was worried for her after the match points missed tbh. But she showed her mental strength at the end. The steely look in her eye at end reminded me of tiger woods in his prime
@@andyo570 at that point, she was just running low on energy because she still doesn't have match fitness due to few matches played. That was why her shots were getting shorter and lacked penetration which gave Parry opportunities to attack. That match tiebreak was mostly just pure iron will from Emma channeling all the energy she still has to win.
Beautiful, princess, Emma Raducanu. She's adorable, and her tennis is also very beautiful when she's on song. I hope to see more of this determination and ball striking. She can go back to the top of women's tennis.
I believe all she really needs is to improve her match fitness and serve. If she can attain that I don't see any reason why she can't become a top 10 player.
Thanks for your comment. If Emma can be competitive with the top players that would be a much needed boost to the WTA tour because of the interest that she generates not only from her fans but also from her haters.
@@firstlast-pt5pp Thanks for your comment. Diane Parry is indeed a very talented young French player, one of the very few who employs a one-handed backhand. She could very well have won this match and the tie for France but she just played against a very determined Emma Raducanu who was in her finest form since her US Open win.
This is actually a great win because if she lost this match, Great Britain would have lost the tie. No way are Watson and Dart beating Garcia and Mladenovic in the deciding doubles match if it got to that.
Thanks for your comment. I think Emma will play even better than this as she plays more and more matches this season. Emma wouldn't have needed this tiebreak if she didn't get tired while serving for the set.
Absolutely she / we pulled out all the stops and it made my day / weekend / month / year. Team Gb were magnificent and, thankfully, no doubles required!
@@garethbramley1 Congrats to you and all GB tennis fans! You're right to be relieved team GB did not have to play doubles because team France strategy obviously allowed that Emma might beat Parry with the tennis she displayed vs Garcia. That's why they moved Garcia to the doubles 30 minutes before the scheduled time instead of the original setup of having her play the reverse singles. Obviously their thinking was that if Garcia plays Boulter, Garcia will likely win, but if Emma were to beat Parry, Burel had to be paired with Mladenovic who has never played doubles with her before and that would complicate matters. They also thought Burel would beat Boulter because of how Boulter fared against Parry. It was Emma's win vs Garcia which mucked up team France's strategy.
Yes indeed. We stuffed them as they were sure to have won any doubles match as out doubles team is weak (no sign of Bartlett & Nichols who had helped us in previous tied). Thanks for the congratulations. France were one of the strongest teams and they are OUT!
Obviously the Michael Jackson song "Billie Jean" does not have any connection with Billie Jean King the tennis icon. The girl in the song was just a pretty girl who claimed Michael was the father of her kid. Thanks for commenting.
Zachwyty nad Emmą są przesadzone. Stoczyła równorzędny pojedynek z 49 w klasyfikacji WTA Dianą Perry. Po przypadkowym zwycięstwie w US Open gruntuje swoją pozycję poza 100-ką zawodniczek klasyfikacji WTA. W mojej ocenie jej aktualne możliwości to trzecia dziesiątka WTA.
Najwyższa pozycja w rankingu WTA to 10-ta.
You're obviously a critical but intelligent tennis fan, not a blind Iga fan or a hater. You're my type of tennis fan, just being honest. The BJKC is an ITF tournament because it is an Inter-Nation tournament and outside of the confines of the WTA, not just another tier 2 tournament. Emma's US Open win is her only WTA tour title to date, but I have no doubt that she will win many titles in her career as long as she is healthy because she is very talented.
A prime example of dressing up information and presenting it as knowledge - ie how to miss seeing the wood for the trees - . I mean, to state that the WTA Open USA win is the ONLY major tournament Emma has won in her career ….!!!! Just think about the incongruesness of that statement in the overall context of her career to date and Tennis History making for a moment …….it was ONLY her 2 nd gram slam event ever ( her 1st being Wimbledon that year where she reached the 4th round ) straight from school at age 18, from qualifiying, not losing a single set, not being pushed to a tie break in all 10 matches etc etc etc . How many Tennis players at the end of their careers would love to be able to say , i ONLY won 1 Grand slam tournament? But of course 99.9% of them never will be able to say that will they ? Duh
You're entitled to your own opinion. However, I respectfully beg to differ. The Billy Jean King Cup is not a tiny tournament by any means. There is so much national pride involved in this tournament and the players usually perform way beyond their ranking when they carry the hopes of their country. It is the only one of its kind in women's tennis. Nothing really tiny about that.
WTF ?? All the relevant countries participate, every player from NO.1 down want to represent their country for free (no ranking points or prize money) and a worldwide audience !! You sure nobody gives a 'shizz' ?? The fact you are here watching videos and making idiotic comments tells me you give a 'shizz' !!
