It's funny how he's a lot more straightforward in English. Struggling a bit to express himself actually allows him to get to the point and answer the questions. I find him a lot more likable in this interview.
@travpoet Hmmm I'll have to think about that. Every time I think of how "counter-clockwise" is said in French, I laugh, but it is very clear. You may be right.
French tends to make politicians sound pretentious and long winded....you can speak for ages in french and say almost nothing..empty bla bla that so many french politicians excel at. It must be said that his english really is very good...for a frogo....
@@stevemorse108 honestly it really depends on which country speaks French in Canada and in some countries in Africa we are as direct as in English but French from France really takes poetical ways to finally say one sentence. French is the same but the spoken manner is different
Yes but he is not as good as you think in his political career Everyone hates him but people internationally think he is good because they don’t know what’s going on in France
@@somethingsecretsteersus5115 Yeah he speak english too but like every people in the world except few people. We never had a President who speak German or Russian for exemple
The euro is dead according to Le Pen. Well, the euro during the US financial crisis peaked. 1 EURO = $ 1.60. Now the industrialized countries are experiencing the greatest economic crisis since the Second World War. The single currency has always remained, and continues to exceed the dollar. Do not they believe that Le Pen has been funded by the British Conservative party and Trump? A strong European Union is a threat to the great powers. Currently the European Union is the main market power. A federal Europe is a threat to the United States. Merkel shuffles an army at European level, to which Trump responded with threats. Racist nationalists are voted by people with a low socio-cultural level who have never left the neighborhood in which they live. I think Macron is pure air for those of us who believe in a united, stronger and more federal Union.A question . Where were the Eurosceptics when there was no crisis? The Union must be for the hard and for the mature.
Also intelligent vs a buffoon, so like, the litteral opposite, even if he is alittle too centrist for my liking , I fancy myself in favor of social democracy and question and research any bullshit that's spoon fed to me
You may think that but every month there is always gonna be a riot in Paris because of how people Hate macron and he is corrupt (i think). Here in France, almost everyone is gonna hate him
Emmanuel Macron is awesome. I really hope & I honestly thinks that he will win. Fuck the other comments on this page as they're Melenchon & Le Pen cheerleaders.
we need brexit ASAP. Another issue is that people from abroad have come under Portuguese visa which classifies as a EU entry. hello people don't know there are a lot of fake Portuguese passports out there. but it's too late they've already coming
+Mickael Engel Europe is not perfect need reform ,the U.K. Is feed by debt . Tax brake to the rich and corporation for years of thatcher trickle down economics which have not work out for many ,we need stop zero hour contracts in vest in education and new industry. Eu general standard on work right is good , they need a to invest in people and in east Europe most do not what to move.
This man is seriously impressive. I doubt a single British Politian could speak any foreign language so well. And what they have to say even in English is nothing a sensible as this Guy
I have some disagreements with his policies, but I have to commend him for how straight he talks. He actually answers the questions asked instead of sidestepping them in order to repeat prepared talking points, which is the standard way for politicians to respond.
Because English isn't his mother tongue, it's obviously tricky to sidestep questions and you have to master the language in order to make some tricky things! As a French I can tell you that we are making joke about him because nobody really knows what is his project... He is really like the politician stereotype who expresses no idea but instead who tries to charm people, and you're being charmed, what a wise man is E. Macron.
he would never ever in hell use a word such as bullshit on a french media especially while talking about his opponents. do not believe the hype. he's a fraud
I appreciate such a politician especially French who speak his mind straight to the point. He speaks a good English and will definitely make our country more well represented worldwide to the place that France deserves! About his 4 years of banker at Rothschild I don't think he did the crapiest job on earth in comparison with other politician. At least he did not stole the state money like some people from the right and previous President like Sarkozy. He is also not linked to any lawsuit which is rare in our world (several affaires stick to a lot of politicians asses) go go Macron, you are our hope and a better futur for our people and children's ✔️👌🏽
he would new and modern! is that france need! so 60%of france want! like us old french want old solutions! not for me and active peoples we want go like y said! do you said y working for you Manu!
I so respect him, when he speaks in English, I absolutely can understand every single word and what message he wants to say to us. I prefer to choose him rather than an English native speaker. Even his speech also very easy to understand..
Macron is the best thing that happened for France and the EU. Europe and France will be better and stronger with him as a president. he is a very wise and smart man. Regarding England I am not that optimistic. May will not have any bargaining power and I think at this stage Europe will be way better off without England
I am pretty sure Macron would be able to make great things for France and European Union but the problem is the EU itself... the old dummies of Bruxelles are petulant to keep their place and exclusive access to power and already want block him to make the rebuild needed. It's sad to see what EU have become time passing. They are even worse than some corrupted former presidents or prime ministers when it's about money. They deal with the biggest companies lobbyists against EU inhabitants wealth. EU shouldn't have been extended more than 7 countries... despite being one of the two countries (with Germany) which has widely contributed to its buildup, France is badly treated ever since... we are only seen like tax payers and receiving less what we give
this is how true intelligent leaders speak . they discuss the details of all things rather than just going to standard talking points as trump does . everything that trump doesn't like is a disaster ,a mess rather than looking at the pro and cons of things. i hope macron succeeds ( i like melenchon more than him)
Well, If you compare to Trump, every philosophical essay I made deserves immediately a fucking Nobel Prize. (edit : yes, Melenchon is the most pragmatic and the most coherant one)
Completely agree. I did vote for Melenchon on the first round then Macron for the second. I hope he doesn't have a double agenda. For sure he's clever than Sarkozy and Holland combined.
india 😂😂😂😂they can't even speak, or write propper French , 😨😨and Hello, 🙆French, is the only population in the world, who don' t even speak or comprehend a basic English, ,. that,s why these are still in France they have no acces of 99,5% of international, knowledge or info.. and when they travel, they go in ex french colonies.... .
yukil dom - You're comment about the French is so wrong it hurts my eyes. Most of the French live in France (not a surprise), they have diverse levels of English (non to bilingual like everywhere). They do travel a lot all around the world (they have many holidays for that), their former colonies are not their favorite destinations... They travel mainly to other European countries because the EU makes it very easy, but you can find a lot of French people in Canada, the USA, and others in Asia, North Africa, South America, Australia, New Zealand,... They have access to a gigantic amount of the world knowledge and info like every other developed countries. (India is obviously not a troll...)
Succinct, powerful, clear and well-spoken. Emmanuel Macron is a wonderful speaker, and is making one hell of a statement in French politics. I would love it if he won, but even if he doesn't, he has started something. I don't think I've heard a British politician speak this honestly and eloquently - in a second language!!! - for a long, long time. Obviously, he faces problems of inexperience, and maybe he's not going to be as good an administrator as he is a speaker. But I say to give him a chance; he might turn out to be the best thing that's happened to France in years. And if he fails... well, five years will roll around in no time.
first question: >People said to us "We like the guy but we don't know what he stands for. We don't know what he's gonna do when he gets in power". What do you stand for? Macron: First, I want to produce innovation in France. That's the very first perspective. We are now in a new perspective, a new economy, an economy of competitiveness, innovation, super talents, so we have to reform the country in order to succeed in such environment, so what I will do first is reform our labour market, reform our training system, and reform our education system. okay? ---- What does that even mean!?? He didn't answer the question, he just repeated talking points he's been told, there was no substance in that answer. This Guy is like that at every interviews he gets, but people keep covering him. He had more media coverage in 2016 than Melenchon, Hamon and Fillion combined, but he only announced his candidacy in November. Macron is a candidate propped up by the mainstream media, a French Rubio.
He just said it. He wants to make France more competitive. So how do you think he is going do it ? People = Lower salaries, lower social protection, longer work hours, lower health coverage, lower pensions. Corporations = Lower social charges, higher profits, maximum deregulations, lower taxes, larger freedom to fire staff, subsidies. And all this will not create jobs because the profit is to be distributed to the shareholders for more relocations to cheaper places until everything is produced at the lower cost possible even if it has to come across the globe.
Don't get your hopes up. He's just another puppet catering to the oligarchy, along the likes of Obama www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-04-25/meet-real-emmanuel-macron-consummate-banker-puppet-bizarre-elitist-creation
To suggest a general election in the UK could bring about a reversal of Brexit is nonsensical. Neither Conservatives or Labour can possibly campaign on that ticket now.
Joyce Gibbs Labour would be completely wiped out if they ran on that ticket. Tories would lose a lot of seats if they did it and it would cause major problems within their party. From a party point of view it's just not feasible. Either way UKIP would benefit a lot and we would probably get a hung parliament.
vodkatom whiskey You are deluded. Corbyn is the leader and doesn't really like the EU. It's already Labour policy to exit the EU without offering another referendum. Macron loves the EU and doesn't really want to reform it other than maybe deeper integration. Maybe in 2022 Labour could run on an abandon Brexit manifesto pledge. But the problem of huge numbers of traditionally Labour voters wanting to leave the EU, if the Labour party did run on that ticket they would never win.
They also have stagnant growth. Why can't we have that system here? Because that would involve a lot of cash to nationalise + give a ton of strength to the Unions. Neither are good for the people of this country.
Your growth is quite fragile. Oh, and Germany has very strong unions who are able to negotiate higher wages. The British private rail system is utter shit, admit it. Desastrous worker conditions, horrible service, horrible safety, preposterous prices. You lost on that one.
our trains and dams are being privatized because of EU rules. They were great without the EU, but they've been going downhill for years now. The rails were originally owned by the national train company. Now in order to allow free competition, they had to relinquish ownership, and now pay to use the rails they built with taxpayer money, it's insane.
germany benefits from the euro's current level, boosting its export while killing competition from the south. I wouldn't be optimistic about german unions, as there is a lot of poverty in germany, many low wage jobs, and the demographic situation shows that it's just very hard to raise a family there
Wow he didn't even get pissed when he pushed him on the "rumours." I've always had a strong dislike of Macron, largely I guess because of how the British media portrays him, but he handles himself very well. He's clearly very competent. Maybe that makes him even more of a threat.
I love Macron. I don't agree with him on everything but he supply's a very nuanced solution that was needed very badly. For years it was far-left vs far-right and now here's a guy that wants to change the bad stuff and keep the good stuff. without trowing a wrench into the gears.
What do you agree or disagree with ? In order to agree with his ideas, you must understand his ideas, he doesn't express any constitent ideas. Just try to mention one.
Vive Macron! Vive le France! Much love and admiration from Greece, we will always be the loyal follower of France, our one and true ally among all the world powers!
Hey Macron erm I know it’s a long shot but... Fancy becoming leader of the UK too? This guy will truly take Europe places, he is the exact leader the free world needs at the moment.
Mr. Macron speaks English eloquently, he gets his points across to the listeners, he's using body language very powerfully, he voice tones are much more defined than our Orange Orangutan and his golden boy.
The fact the he's married to a woman 24 years older it's showing that his heart is in the right place. He's not shallow as more men will be enticed to marry someone 24 years younger. I wish him well as a French president and set as an example to all leaders around the world.
Craig vaut mieux un Tony Blair à la Française plutôt qu'un Thatcher à la Française ( Fillon ) et Macron ne se présente pas sous l'étiquette socialiste à la manière de Blair sous mandat Travailliste
Love him......France needs a new highly intelligent young energy to put some new policies into place and Macron is the perfect person to do it. GO MACRON !!1
If you are an American, so you love people without knowing them, just as you can hate them without knowing them. You love, what is the meaning of To Love/To like?
elisabeth dakak To love someone's ideas, what they stand for, their visions their aspirations. Anybody and everybody is entitled to have their own opinion on matters in general and people in particular. You must think one must be French to understand the French election. So even if you are French, do you know every candidate personally so that you've earned more right to "love" or to "hate"? What is this? It's 2017 lady! People have access to information anywhere anytime..mdr
Macron is hated in France by the left because he's going to screw with workers' rights and hated by the right because he's pro-migrants and anti-nationalist. He got 24% of voters on the first round, who seem to like him, then won on the second round because he was against Le Pen (with record low turnout).
CptSpauIding look... the president job... you will be hated what ever happens even before you arrive in office. personally I'm hopeful, are president seems cleverer but more importantly, he wants to do good.
There are Brtish politicians who can speak a foreign language. I wish there were more. But some examples include Boris Johnson, Tony Blair, Nick Clegg, and Jeremy Hunt.
i really like this guy he is pro europe and stand what already constructed not trying to do something different in term 'change'...make blablabla great again .... that i believe those vision would lead in many internal problem
Blueberry Hill all you think about is money.I'm not saying it's not important. It is. but freedom and peace of mind is important to. this Macron never mentioned how he's going to protect the French from terrorists and immigrants.
Before working in a bank, he was working as a state officer in regulation of banks, until the crisis in 2008. Why a bank would have thanked him with a very well paid job ? Because, instead of regulating bank's activity, he let them make profits during the crisis. And, after that, he lied on his incomes for paying less taxes. Such a great man isn't it ?
Alexis L false , the anticorruption organization looked closely at his "patrimoine" and revenue and found nothing suspect at all . Stop believing the crap on TV. he just worked in a bank and people seem to find that absolutely horrible . I know friends who work in banks and no one gives a shit . But since he's a new political figure people seem to find that awful . Hypocrites!
Youwiwowiyouu ! Oh sorry, but you're wrong. Macron had underestimated the residence of his wife in Le Touquet (200,000 euros). He was caught up by the FISC last year. Then he admitted having under-valued it, and had to paid the ISF. The same ISF he wanted to remove. And I don't talk about the way he is financing his campaign... With the money of the Ministry of Economy he paid extensive restaurants, almost every day during months, to those who support him now. And now, he organizes fundraising meals : 15 000 € per person (even if political donation are limited at 12 500 €, but he knows how to contourn the reglement : paid meals are not considered as donations... ). And of course, he doesn't want to publish the list of his donators : he's afraid that his electors don't see him as an "anti-system" anymore. And, please, be smart. He was not only "working in a bank". He was a high financial controler, and after that he worked at Rothschild. To you, there is no problem that those who are supposed to control activities of banks have for only wish to be hired in one of them ? For who was he working during the crisis ? For the common interest or for his next boss ? You just have to look the European Parliament malfunctions to see there is a problem with private interests interferences in our society. And strangely, Macron loves the way the EU works.
You really have no clue how wrong you are, do you ? You are part of all the misinformation about Macron and you claim that you leaned your words on facts? Let me laugh at you for a moment... All his declarations have been checked several times, by independent organisms, and he never was suspected of fraud, everything is public so go tell your lies somewhere else. That is because of people like you that we may be confronted to the worst kind, alias Marine Le Pen, so go away, go away from France okay, I'm tired of all of you, you have no arguments so you invent lies to support your opinions...
Brilliant politician. He actually knows what he talks about - what a wonderful mixture to have high ideals and yet a very common sense pragmatic approach to implementing these ideas. How refreshing! Glad you are here, Macron. Vive la France & Vive L'Europe! MERCI BEAUCOUP!
I can really see Thresea May holding her own against them like a of Macron and Merkel ( that was sarcasm by the way) the UK is going to come out of negotiations a lot more worse of in many more ways than one. As a younger citizen of Britain the future looks very bleak. Hope Boris keeps his mouth shut and does not how us up to much. I know unlikely to happen.
