Exactly why it's so hard to tell anyone, the misplaced guilt, fear of being seen differently after, and the possible non-believe. (Maybe now the "why doesn't she just tell" people can take a break...)
First time I think I've ever seen Kim nearly break down. She's normally so hard-headed, just shows how much Lydia means to her. Time for Kim to go psycho.
I'm so proud of Lydia (and for smartass, I know this is fiction, still doesn't mean I can't be proud of character). It took the courage for her to finally tell someone what Craig did to her. It was very important that Kim made it clear to Lydia that she didn't anything wrong, that Craig was the one who did. Another reason why Lydia froze when Craig raped her was because her body and midn tried that way to protect her from what's happening, even tho it sounds crazy but sometimes it's like that. Time to time Kim looked like she wanted to kill Craig with her own hands. Loved this scene between Lydia and Kim.
Kim is always shown as a cold, ruthless and heartless woman. She's a business woman, and that's how it should be in a male-dominated world. In this scene he showed that he has a heart. Anyone who says it's because Lydia was a good friend to her is an idiot. Kim doesn't look anyone in the face, not even members of her own family...
And the makeup compact is effective subtle iconography... contrasting Kim's infamously devilish Frank death scene with the 2023 Kim the caring confidante. The three dimensional character that can be brought out with the right co-stars,such as luminous Lydia here.
I love how patient Kim was with Lydia and telling Lydia that she beleives her and that it wasn't her fault. Those are words that all survivors want to hear. I really hope that now that she has someone on her side that knows the truth that Lydia can start finding her inner strength to bring Craig down and get justice. Kim will uplift her and support her. We need friends and allies when this happens. Kim may be ruthless when it comes to business but she does have a heart and in this moment she is a woman supporting another woman and thats how it should be. I really hope Mandy amd Samson feel very foolish when the truth is revealed. I worry that Samson has become such a nasty piece of work that he won't believe Lydia.
No way...obviously she cant just get over it...That is the worst thing anyone can say... She needs to tell Sam. It doesnt matter how much time goes by.. speaking the truth is always better though sometimes harder.... Its breaking her holding on to it. (And yes it is just a character and story) Craig needs to be held accountable..he needs to go down.
The fck? Are you for real? She needs to tell everyone what that disgusting creep did to her. We cannot allow monsters like that to walk free and to keep hurting and terrorising and manipulating people and lying like that. Lydia needs justice. You are the worst for telling people like Lydia to just forget what happened and move on. You cannot move on you live with it EVERY SINGLE DAY OF YOUR LIFE. You feel it physically. How you feel about your body changes. How others see you changes. The trauma of that. Having your choice and your autonomy taken away from you in a moment. Having someone think they have the right to or are entitled to your body. You never forget it. And that's why we fight to get disgusting creeps like Craig sent down for what they did.
