Emmy Predictions 2022: Drama Series, Actor and Actress - For Your Consideration 

I think Scott is crazy to think that succession is not the clear front runner here, but I actually think he’s right about Better Call Saul having a shot. The last season has been outstanding and if it sticks the landing next week, it’s going to be on voters minds in a huge way

The fact that Better Call Saul hasn't won any of the 46 Emmys it has been nominated for is gross. I hope Bob Odenkirk wins. I think the best chance Squid Game has for a major win is Best Drama and agree with Jeff that I don't see a second season beating it (and I think the "franchise" of Squid game is going to be overexposed soon).

It's so clear they haven't watched Better Call Saul. BCS is better than Ozark in almost every way. Hell it might even be better than Breaking Bad right now. If I were to vote, it's between Succession and BCS. I think Squid Game is overrated. Although I enjoyed it, I wouldn't call it Emmy worthy.

You Guys should go watch the rest of Better Call Saul, It's amazing and is on Breaking Bad level. Hope aleast Bob wins he deserves it he's awesome. Better Call Saul and Stranger Things are next level television.

Succession is in no way a lock, but the number of acting nominations it received shows it has the support from the biggest guild at the Emmys. I think its biggest competition is Severance due to visibility. However, Squid Game, Better Call Saul, and Yellowjackets are my personal favorites of the bunch. I do think Bob Odenkirk and Jeremy Strong are being seriously underestimated. Brian Cox will never win for Succession. Voters clearly prefer Strong over Cox.

Idk about Squid Game winning so much at this poin in time. We are overestimating that because the SAGs was so many months ago now. It makes sense to see Better Call Saul surging because it just ended and fresh in voters minds. Breaking Bad did really well in its final season and many will say Better Call Saul is a superior show. Succession is still my favorite though❤️

Better Call Saul

Just finished Yellowjackets. I'm kinda rooting for Melanie lynskey to pull the Upset in Best Actress. Her character and performance is amazing. I think Laura will win and should considering she was robbed for the previous season. But if Lynskey pulls out a Win I won't be sad.

The same thing Perri is saying about Squid Game's phenomenon can be said for Better Call Saul. All the praise, the memes!! It's literally everywhere, and no one has talked about Squid Game in the last months other than controversies and Mr. Beast.

I could see Bob Odenkirk being the surprise winner. He created (with the writers) such a unique awesome character to the point where they created a spin off for this character and that spin off was a success. A single character that sparked an entire show that went the duration is pretty impressive. I don't pick Better Call Saul for best TV series, but Bob Odenkirk for best actor is deserved.

I absolutely love you guys but you are totally counting out Succession and that is just crazy!!! Succession for Best Drama and Brian Cox for Best Actor. 25 nominations.

You really can't discount a nominations leader at the Emmys. It's not like the Oscars where the (majority) of the academy will have seen everything that's nominated. This shows clearly that Succession is a big favourite, no show in history has got this many acting nominations for a single season. They're running away with Drama Series. That being said, I agree with Jeff that this is the peak of Squid Game, which is why I think it'll win Best Actor and probably Directing. Also Perri, so so sorry to hear about Dewey, the coolest cat on the interwebs.

Can’t see squid game winning. It was a bit of a fluke fad (see Tiger King) and doesn’t hold up to some of these top notch shows. Agree with Jeff that Ozark season 4 missed a chance to leave with a bang. Succession is the favorite but Severance can shock

I understand that there are politics involved in this game... but this whole Linney vs Zendaya argument highlights an issue I have had with ALL awards shows my entire life... The results of these awards ceremonies are what will be written in the history books... the award should go to the best performance in each category, period. There should be no consideration for a given award other than what was the best in 'x' category that was presented this year...

For the categories you mentioned, I say "Succession" for Drama. The show with the most nominations typically wins here. Actor for Jung-jae. He's been winning the best actor awards. Actress is a tricky one, but I am going with Melanie Lynskey.

Ozark went out with a fizzle and doesn't stand a chance. There's been no buzz about that show whatsoever. It was probably more of a formality than anything nominating it. Laura Linney is the only stand out performance in the show, but I highly doubt she's going to win, especially with the show being a dud.

The Squid Game guy winning for best actor is pretty embarrassing. I realize they want to make an international statement and all, but is their seriously anyone who watched that show and thought he should have been nominated let alone winning. The Squid Game is the only time on a foreign film where I decided to watch the dub over the subtitle version after watching the first episode in subs and it's because the acting was subpar, especially the lead, so it didn't really matter one way or the other. In the first episode when he's being a brat and taking advantage of grandma... his acting is on par with a highschool film production or a B rate horror film and I'm not exaggerating.

Succession and Zendaya’s wins were two years ago. Last year The Crown went 7/7 in Drama.

Odenkirk, hands down was best. Bateman only plays Bateman and his character never changes. Saul was an evolution. God I hate what you take into consideration!

Better Call Saul is going to be over Succession.... it is hard to pull of finales and this show had a pretty great one. The fact that it hasn't won means this year they will reward it for its all around accomplishment. I loved Squid Game but Better Call Saul is a greater overall accomplishment. Squid Game will also suffer for being quite a while ago.

This is far more better than Oscars show why because today series are far more better than movies

Yea Mantz, I agree with Perri and Jeff, no way Severance is being passed up for Outstanding Drama, atleast in the top 3...it's been talked about so much... I think Squid game will end up taking it...but no way is Severance going ot give it a run

ozark is def not winning series, the last season was far too polarizing and not widely lauded. BCS never wins any emmys and i don't see why it would now... scott's crazy for not thinking succession is not in the top 3.

Squid Game is being overrated. Great show. Loved it. But I think it feels like it was a long time ago and while Squid Game might be more popular Better Call Saul is a critics darling.

I don't think the stats of previous nominations matter. The quality of the individual performance is what matters at the Emmys. Brian Cox is the front runner by that metric

Television academy doesn't seem so fond of shaking things so much to the point of not awarding Succession. My heart goes to Squid Game, but Succession is a safe bet in terms of excellence continuance (even though I personally dislike it). Regarding Better Call Saul, it doesn't stand much of a chance if we consider its 46×0 Emmy history.

TV/Film Twitter went mad for Squid Game, but I only know one person in the real world who finished watching the series. With shows like Yellowjackets, Severance, and Squid Game, we're seeing the Oscar-ization of the Emmys as we heap awards on shows and performances most people didn't see or didn't care that much about.

I don't know why people kiss Squid Game's ass. Do people and those who nominate this type of nonsense think they're just so multicultural by doing so? It was a mildly entertaining little show, but nothing about it puts it on the level of a nomination. The overall production value and acting is very B rate and it's not because it's a foreign film. The premise is entertaining, which carried it, but they did a pretty weak job with that premise. Playing red light green light where most of the field is instantly wiped out. The games were about as uncreative as humanly possible. As if wealthy people would be forking over money or their time to watch something that would not be fun to watch. It was mildly entertaining for us because we're following some of the characters, but the games certainly weren't entertaining. And I enjoyed the show for the level I put it on, which was very B rate. And the lead actor is a dreadful actor. It's the first foreign film where I' choose to watch with dubs over subs after the first episode because the acting was so bad that nothing was lost by watching it with dubs.

Succession is the best show among the nominees.
