The best thing about American idol is that even if you don't win, it is a wonderful stepping stone to a career for any talented contestant... After this competition is over, Emmy is going to have a wonderful musical career that her grandma would be proud of... It's so good to see her come out of her shell and to enjoy what she's doing... Emmy and Jennifer my top 2. They both are the most unique sounding, memorable and authentic vocalists this season. Not just vocal acrobats. They both evoke emotion in the listener when they sing.

When Emmy's great aunts and uncle were signed to the same record label Decca back in the late 1960's, the label wanted them to be a copy of their successful sister, Loretta Lynn. That was a big mistake and the best thing was when each one, but Loretta, left the label and found success, e.g. Crystal Gayle "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue" mega hit. Emmy is very different that her successful relatives, yet has enough talent to succeed in her own lane. Emmy's grandmother Loretta Lynn had success from 1960 up until a few years before she passed away. Her cd went #1 in Germany and #4 in USA.

The unique thing about her is that from a very young age she was shown greatness. She sang with a legend from the start and even though she may feel shy in comparison, she has that magic. She was shown what singing really is and how to channel it. She knows how, she just has to keep opening. You can feel a legacy behind her voice.

Her audition was her best and ever since then I just find her boring. I feel like if she creeps through to the next round it will be because they always need ppl like her (good singers but not stars) to push the ppl with star quality into the top 10.
