Thanks for covering this one. Emmylou didn't write many songs, but, like this song, every single one is stellar! She's from here, Birmingham, Alabama, my hometown, so I've followed her career from day one. Although I've seen her play many times, I never made it to Farm Aid.😢 She went to high school just one district over from mine, and we did socialize with kids from there but, she's even older than I am so I never met her pre-career. I think she went straight to New York after she graduated to become a folk singer. At the time she didn't even like country music. Then she met Gram Parsons, and in the short time she had with him before his death, he converted her, and a country treasure was born! Thanks again.

BRO, Emmylou Harris has the voice of an angel! She has a style that's so appealing, and can tear at your heartstrings. I also love her beautiful guitars. She plays world-famous Gibson acoustic guitars handmade in Tennessee, U.S.A. Elvis; Bob Dylan and many other artists also use Gibsons. They are my choice as my dream guitar. You would never guess it by looking at her, but Emmylou is now 75 years of age, so in 2005 she would have been 57. Beautiful voice!

Emmylou, is something special. As unique and special as Dolly, Reba, Trisha... and more are unique and wonderful, Emmylou opens her mouth and everyone falls silent and enraptured. There is no one like her and I doubt there will ever be again. Thanks for this, I haven't heard Red Dirt Girl in a long time. Never been to Farm Aide It is pretty legendary it's self.

Dolly is to gimmicky to take seriously.Reba and Trisha have made to many poor song choices and neither attract the quality musicians Emmylou does.

She's so tiny so that guitar looks massive on her. There will never another like her. Such a sad tale. Her brother dies in Vietnam. She meets a man and figures he's enough and marries him, denying her own dreams. At 27 She has five kids, hits the skids from and dies young from a non specific death. You should consider doing more artists from Farm Aid concerts. It was founded in the 80s by Willie Nelson John Mellencamp and Neil Young. They do annually raising money to save family farms. John Mellencamp song Rain on the Scarecrow is a must!!

Emmylou is such a great singer. You should give a listen to Wayfaring Stranger from the album Roses in the Snow. One of my favorites. 🙂

"Two more bottles of wine" is one of her more popular songs. This one really doesn't do much for me. She is a legend but I can honestly admit I am not a big follower of her music. She has a depressing whine in her voice to my ears.
