Harris and her backing band, the Angel Band, perform "Country Baptizing" (from Bill Monroe's repertoire) in the Red Fox Inn, Bethesda, Maryland, on May 8, 1974.
The Angel Band was the first country band formed by Emmylou. She started it in 1974 in Washington D.C. after Gram Parsons's death, but prior to the recording of her debut country album Pieces of the Sky (1975). In 1975 this band was replaced by The Hot Band. The Angel Band got its name from the traditional song, "Angel Band" (in 1987 this song was also used as the title track for Harris' country-gospel album).
