Emmylou Harris is stunning here! Even prettier than in her 30’s. Just beautiful. Her voice adds so much texture. Linda is my all time favorite singer though! Love her voice.

To Larry Blatterman: Linda Ronstadt is singing this in A #. Looks like Carl Jackson on guitar is using regular tuning but has a capo at the first fret and is playing out of A. Carl is a great musician and in addition guitar, plays several instruments including banjo and mandolin. I really enjoy his fingerpicking guiitar work.
Not only do all three of these women all have fantastic voices, which harmonise so well here (apart from the little microphone mishap at the start) but they were all canny enough to surround themselves with great musicians.

Vylken & Zonkk the touring for this album was 5 or more years after Linda’s vocals were recorded and you can hear in all the live performances promoting this album that Linda’s vocals are strained compared to the album. She was sadly already having the effects of Parkinson’s.

This is the only comment I can reply to here. The rest seem to focus on Linda's weight. I am not saying it is easy being young and gorgeous for a long time and then not being but I guess we all experience something similar but the judgment on Linda is extraordinary. I guess she did not pile on the weight to piss us all off. Anyway, you are right, this is singing and harmonising of an extraordinary quality.
una mckillen She was battling párkinson. At this time she didn’t know she had it. It took 10 yrs to diagnose her. She was feeling tired, and I think her thyroid was an issue for her weight gain.
The cd Trio II was released in the late 90s, so I assume this is after that. Dolly sings harmonies for Emmylou in the single "Gold" of her latest album, check it out!
These women did a Christmas album many years ago..acapella. I swear it was the closest thing to hearing God's choir singing as you'll get this side of the pearly gates.
@impassible Really? Time marches on. Aside from now having Parkinson's Disease, she has had a long history of Hashimoto Disease, which is a thyroid condition. And really, what does that have to do with any of her singing ability? Let's see how good we all look approaching 70.
Actually, "hit" is the wrong word, Emmy touched the mike and perhaps it wasn't on tight enough because singers often do touch the mike and usually that doesn't make a sound.
Linda Ronstadt is without question, America's greatest singer. Emmylou and Dolly are just awesome. I wish we could clone them and they could teach the newcomers how it's done. True singing is a lost art. Video killed the radio star....and that sucks....for everybody/music
cwebsterk and the fact that these ladies were more interested in collaborating not just with each other but several other talented performers gave us some great gems. Most stars these days are more competitive than collaborative

According to the back story told on EH fans' FB page, the Trio had been clearly told not to touch the mics so the first thing Miss Emmylou did once the song had started and the cameras were rolling was to disobey the instructions, which caused her good friend LR to crack up and DP, realising something had happened, to jokingly repeat what they'd been ordered not to do.
Izzy Evans no one blew it but it was Emmylou who touched the mic. Linda is notorious for getting the giggles during live performances but her fans usually find it endearing
impassable She’s dealing with health issues. She has the starting of Parkinson’s disease here in this video and didn’t know it. Feeling tired all the time was one of symptoms and also affected her voice and it took 10 yrs to finally diagnose her as having Parkinson’s.
