A "good" hairdresser is hard to find, but so worth it! Maybe you should ask the hairdresser why he or she cut your hair the way he or she did. They might have a reason. Perhaps to get the "straight" line to look right it required a bit more trim. Or, maybe it will look nicer as it grows in. Since, he or she is a professional, there might be a purpose, but he or she may just need to explain it so that it is understandable. However, it might have been that the hairdresser didn't listen and didn't actually even try to do what you asked. If the hairdresser can explain why he or she cut you hair that way, and takes the time to do so, then that a signal of a great hairdresser. If he or she won't explain, doesn't take the time to make it clear, or shows that he or she just did what he or she wanted, then it's time to find a different hairdresser! It's definitely not "just hair" - I have not had my hair cut since it grew back. I had "chemo curls" and I really like them, even though it's starting to grow back straighter. It looks a bit misshapen and unruly. However, I don't care. I am happy that I have hair again and I'm going to enjoy it for me. I'm also trying to accept that it will never be the same as it was before, it is a bit thicker and so it does not flow the way that it did. It's a struggle since it is like a symbol of everything that going through treatment changed. So, I can understand why it is so upsetting to have a vision for your hair and then have it not turn out quite right. Even though your hair is beautiful, you have every right to feel upset and disappointed that it did not fit your vision. Thank you for sharing your experiences. I find inspiration in your journey!

That's a good point. If I had a consistent hairdresser, I would ask. Maybe I put myself at greater risk of getting hair cuts that I'm not 100% happy with because I just go to the hairdresser that's available right at the moment I decide to get a cut. I just haven't found one that's WOW-ed me to bother sticking to one. Yeah. :) I wish I had chemo curls but I never got them. You're right. It can be a struggle because it is like a symbol of everything that changed from going through treatment. And my hair also represents how much time has passed since chemo finished so I desperately want it longer because that means more time has passed with no chemo - no cancer. Thanks for your thoughtful comment, Bumblebee. :)

Your hair looks great. You're going to go through so many awkward hair growth stages lol. Mine came back so curly and its naturally straight like yours. Enjoy what you have :) you've been through a lot. Its crazy how protective we get over our hair after it grows back. I understand completely what you mean about hair dressers. Its hard to find the perfect one... Bc they do chop too much off every time

It's happened to me back in my uni days I cried but I have noticed after every hair cut my hair has seemed shorter than I wanted.

It really sucks when you're trying to grow your hair out. Thanks for commenting, Ruby!

I think I will not cut my hair for a long time, it's just starting to grow again, btw your length is nice, it fits you 😊

Thanks, Cynthia. I would just cut what's necessary for your hair to not look messy - hopefully a family member can do that for you so they don't cut too much off!
