We don't have similar experiences as far as cancer goes, but speaking as a mostly introvert in an extroverted profession (communications/public relations), I often have to decompress in a quiet, solitary place for some time after anything major like a product launch, event or huge client meeting. I know that feeling well. It's like the world is a vampire that's temporarily sucked up my life force. Mainly I wanted to pop in and tell you how much I enjoy your channel and your very insightful perspectives. I think you're such a wonderful, lovely person. I'm sorry the aftermath of cancer is wreaking havoc sometimes, but I think you're handling it with admirable grace and perseverance. I really appreciate your frank discussions.

I keep thinking and putting a lot of emphasis on perfection, e. g. 'I hope no one makes a e.g. a rude comment otherwise my whole day will be ruined, and if someone does il think about it in a way that brings my self esteem and confidence down, I want perfection all the time and so it's hard. Maybe that's the issue, maybe I should accept that things can go wrong and its still OK, I don't known and maybe this all causes anxiety? Xx

Perfectionism is such a tricky trait or mindset because its often talked like it's such a great thing to have, but I think it's actually really damaging to those of us who have it. It's good to have high standards, to work hard, to have an ideal vision, but you have to be realistic and reasonable. And you can't be self-punishing when things won't work out perfectly. I know it helps me to accept that things will go wrong and things don't have to be perfect. I get a lot less anxious when working on things.

How do you feel cognitively percentagewise now if we were to assume your pre-chemo state was 100%
@isendathinks7588
@isendathinks7588 6 лет назад
Mmm... great question. Generally, I think 80-90%. But the truth is I only really notice my cognitive deficits when I'm doing difficult things. When I'm doing simpler things, I think I'm cognitively at 100%. But when I need to use a lot of working memory and act spontaneously, I notice my deficit and I feel like I'm only able to reach 70-80% of my original capacity.

Hey Jazzi. I'll try to make a video about fear of relapse at some point in the coming weeks/months. It's such an awful thing! So glad to hear you finished ABVD in April. Good luck with your recovery!
