Falco and Lucy live btw. Falco has some mentions in the game, and Lucy wrote all the eulogies for the people who died in this show. Even including Davids mom and Kiwi.
Falco calls you in the game when you start looking for information about David and the crew. He's the one who sends you the yellow jacket and tells you to back off.
In the table top Adam Smasher can be defeated, but is incredibly unlikely. Fun fact, Adam Smasher is immune to cyberpsychosis, because hes already psychotic, so the dissociative depersonalization doesnt get him. He was always functional psychotic, so hes still functional.
@@732ReviewCrew Actually, a lot of the Johnny Silverhand flashbacks in the game are Morgan Blackhands feats. Johnny has false memories painting himself as a hero, and a lot of those memories are just him "doing" the things Blackhand did.
Heart breaking end! It hurts even more, if you play Cyberpunk 2077 and go to the Mausoleum, you can find all the characters there. Lucy went back and put all their names there with a little quote, David's being one of the most heart wrenching as the quote reads: "You didn't take me to the moon, but you were there with me". Also, David went there at some point as one for Maine is there. It appears Lucy put one in honour of his mother, as the quote on that reads "You were right. David made it to the top of Arasaka Tower"
All three of you grabbing tissues at the end is great 😂 "You know, you could prove an interesting construct." - Adam Smasher Arasaka Corporation uses a modified version of Soulkiller: a program which extracts the personality and memories of an individual (a construct) and implants that personality and memory onto a digital engram. They were planning on interrogating David and/or keeping him in digital limbo until Arasaka decided what they wanted to do with him. Pretty shit way to go. Adam did him a favour, probably the nicest thing he's ever done for someone 😂
Such a great finale! Been replaying the game and love how they've put some little things in from the show like ordering a David Martinez at the Afterlife, gives you a great sense of the world being bigger than the game when you have those connections! I want more stories from Night City! Would also love to see HxH reactions but that's a long journey to commit to :P
Adam Smasher is actually a person to dread in the Cyberpunk lore, even as far back as the original Tabletop Game. His stats are so abnormally high. The only person to have gone up against Adam Smasher and lived to tell about was Morgan Blackhand. No one else has gone up against him and lived to tell about it, until V in Cyberpunk 2077 (if you decide to storm Arasak Tower).
To add more to what other people mentioned. in the game you can find Beccas shotgun in the town square they fought at, Also do a little thing for Falco which in the end gives you Davids jacket, if i remember correctly.
Yes, it's under a bush by the Holofish, and You can find a BD wreath outside his megabuilding H4, and it basically shows the opening few minutes of the anime, then through a few texts with El Capitan you get a message from Falco that he's left David's jacket for you.
Several buildings are also in the game with their interiors open like his ripperdoc's shop, KIWI's apartment, the bar, Lucy;s rooftop, Rebecca's apartment, and a few more. There are also references at the memorial place ( The Columbarium ) for several characters of the show but Lucy's message to David is really sweet.
So in the tabletop, cyberpsychosis is tied to your ‘humanity’ and thus the less human you are, the higher chance you’re gonna go cyberpsycho. Adam Smasher is an anomaly because before his augmentations, he was already a person who enjoyed killing. He was a soldier before a dishonorable discharge then a merc in his home city of NY before he tanked a rocket leaving him a big pile of flesh. Arasaka saw the potential and borged him out. As the decades past more was replaced by cyberware. For all intents and purposes he is a cyberpsycho but one that still has control of his faculties. He has 1 rule when taking on jobs…civilian casualties are a must. He will say no to a stealth mission but if it is urban fighting and he can possibly blow a building up, game on. The arasaka tower you see is actually the rebuilt tower. The under area and neighboring section is the location where the original tower stood and in 2023 smasher survived a nuke and the building collapsing on him. Also smasher did once have a ounce of humanity left in him. He was in a relationship with michiko arasaka, grand daughter of saburo arasaka, the head of arasaka corp. when the relationship ended, i feel the last ounce of humanity died in him that day. Up to the events starting in 2077, the only person who could go toe to toe with smasher was his militech counterpart, Morgan Blackhand who actually has very little cyberware compared to smasher yet always comes to a draw which really pisses smasher off.
Thanks for the background info! As someone who plays the games, Mikey and Mike knew what Smasher meant! Although he was a little less scary until the previous patch, it is hard to forget that ***2077 spoilers V/Johnny combo is a chromed out boogey man especially with the immunity to psychosis due to the engram(?) . Shows how strong the MC of the game is (obviously , compared to the tabletop where you can't even beat him most of the time right?)
Thanks guys for an opportunity to re-live the traumatic ending. Yes, the anime leaves something behind, a hole in the soul for sure. Since I've recently finished a tabletop RPG campaign in Cyberpunk RED it was the best timing I could imagine. We've also met Adam Smasher with predictable results for out team e.g. my character managed to shot him once... Take care!

Ironically, lucys survival at the end can be credited to Smasher. Smasher couldve easily obliterated falco, preventing him from snatching lucy in the car, but all he did was punch him in the gut. i suspect he saw Falco as so little of a threat that it wasnt, at the time, worth the effort
Not a game player, so I didn't have a clue what to expect before the show. Overall, I was like Joe with the ending being the least bleak one could hope for. Nice to see how much the show effected Mikey. Can't say I cried, but the sadness & tragedy of the ending lingers. Rebecca really grew on me during the 2nd half of the show and her death hit hard although I love her final line "We're having a moment here!"...so Rebecca. Still David remained my favorite character, although clearly a doomed one. I also was moved reading Firrboxfryup's comment about the quotes on in the Mausoleum.
I just get emotional regardless of the content. Clone Wars? Yep. Expanse? Yes. Cops? Sure I went to the Mausoleum in game and the song played on the in game radio and I sat for a second. The game is really different after watching the anime, you feel just immersed more.

David really did everything he said he would do. He never went cyberpsycho, he got Lucy to the moon, he got to the top of Arasaka tower. He was fulfilling everybody elses dreams but never understood the dreams.
