Collins is alot more than what her on court facade leads us to believe. Good tournament by Danielle - a fierce competitor who always tries her best. I'm looking forward to watching her play more.

She will have won some fans. It's a great reminder that on-court demeanor tells us very little about the players.

Chess on clay, grass, and hard court... My observation of the WTA is that you cannot make it to the top 10 in the world on physical skill alone, but must also possess a brilliant mind. And as attractive as these women are, it's that brilliance that makes them so beautiful..... ❤

Daniele Collins didnot thank the public. The second set shows how much she needs a better first service. I counted only one in 10. She gave away the second set by serving bad and playing not so smart after the 5-1 advantage. I wish she get way much better ans wins a slam, she deserve it.

A lot of comments remind me of a funny youtube video about "resting bitch face" that is people assume you're angry when you're not thinking anything at all. People presume stuff about folks who are reserved when in fact if you get to know them they're possibly funny, charming etc. just that, for whatever reasons - and probably good ones - they've learned to keep an emotioness face instead of saying something awkward (like her "standing up" joke, I thought it was funny but I'm sure that got a few confused looks) Likewise, there are a bunch of big smiley faces out there who'll probably screw you over when the cameras are off. So there you go, Danielle doesn't hate you and seems like a pretty decent person.

So many humble and classy Americans on the tour now. Glad they are not following in the self entitled and pretentious footsteps of Serena Williams.

If she could just learn to be that likeable on court. I'll give her credit though because she's come a long way from a few years ago.

Apparently, she refused to shake the umpire's hand. She needs to learn to accept her losses and not blame others.

Am I the only one who feels this was a horrible match by both of them? How can a player like Collins with such horrible forehand reach the final of a grandslam? May be I am so used to seeing the men's game, I feel let down by the quality of the match. Even for WTA I feel this was a below par match.

Unfortunately, Collins will have to live with the fact that she Choked in the second set. How on earth did she lose the set at 5-1? I guess Americans must be used to Choking in tennis finals, but much congratulations for the lucky Ash Barty, whose fortunate win means she is the Queen of Tennis.
