I was a Bill Elliott fan from the late 70's and when he was going out I just liked everything about Kevin and he never disappointed. He's definitely a Hall of Famer.🏁🇺🇸🏁👍
Same here. I went to the Touchstone Energies 300 at Talladega in April 2000. Amazing race by the way. But, I was rooting for this kid who spent the whole day in the middle, back when you didn’t do that. He somehow did. He didn’t win, but I was hooked. Going to miss him.
I remember when he got thrown into an unreal situation. He was just a kid in the biggest seat in Nascar, and he excelled. Gonna miss seeing him out there
Yeah and hopping in those cars doing that well right away the first few races is thanks to Dale. Those cars were already built and setup the way Dale wanted them setup and that shows how well Dale knew what made the 3 cars faster than the competition more often than not
Soooo, Dale knew how Kevin wanted the cars setup????? Listen, EVERYTHING you said and more is true about Dale, but what works for one is horrible for another. Kevin set his own cars up for what worked for him.
One of the two people in my life that I have always looked up to. An absolute icon of the sport and a very deserving hall of famer. A story he wanted to tell and a story that I will always remember till the day I die. The memories have been great and even though im sad its over, im so glad it happened. Thank you Kevin Harvick. #harvicknation #4ever
Thank you for everything Kevin. I was a Smoke Fan but always cheered for Harvick. Respected the heck out of him, there goes the final driver from my childhood. Gordon, Earnhardt Sr & Jr, Stewart, Johnson, Kurt Busch, Kenseth, Martin, Wallace, Bobby & Terry, Rudd, Jarrett, and Harvick
Any longtime fan of the sport I think Kevin has a place in our hearts as he took that 29 car to victory lane right after Dale was killed and most of us was hurting at that time and he helped us heal.
I coached high school wrestling in California for over 30 years. On the wall in the Bakersfield Arena, where the state meet is held, is an article giving tribute to Harvick. It mentions that in his senior year he made it to the medal round (top 8) which is VERY difficult to do, and he left the arena. It was opening night at Mesa Marin Speedway and he was the defending track champion. His coach understood.
After that interview is where it hit him that he was not driving anymore. Luckily Kevin isn't going anywhere he will just be trading that steering wheel for a microphone and hopefully he can help the FOX broadcasts out some.
His son sit in beside him, soaking this up a day that boy will never forget . that’s awesome moment. Can I have your family beside you when you end something that you’re so passionate about.
Farewell, Harvick. Killer career, especially for someone who had to fill giant shoes before he was supposed to. NASCAR is losing one of the best. Pity you didn't win this final season, but you had a tremendous career!
Started watching Nascar in 2001 and Kevin is the last of the guys to retire. Guess ill just be watching now you'll be missed in the car! But Im glad we'll see him in the booth!
I've been a Harvick fan since he was in the Busch series, I am glad that he is still competitive as he retires. I'm not sure if NASCAR will be worth watching after a few more older drivers retire as well. Good luck in life Kevin. From Talladega Alabama.
Thank you Kevin. All The Best. You stepped into a difficult situation with losing Dale Earnhardt. You did it with emotion and class.✌🏻Congratulations Kevin.
Never seen Kevin breaking drown and crying, what an amazing and fulfilled careers, time made me appreciate him. Congratulations on his career and being able to contend for wins from the very beginning to the very end.
Screw him being emotional, I’ve watched the Davey Allison, Labontes, Gordon, Junior, Kenseth and now Harvick come and go, along with many others, I’m friggin feeling old.
I am so Proud of the Career of Kevin Harvick!! ❤️ My favorite Driver since the beginning!! In my heart, 4EVER a Champion!! Thank You for All the Amazing Memories HAPPY HARVICK!!! 🥰🥰🤗🥰🥰🤗🥰🥰❤️
Thank you for the 2014 cup championship. Two Busch championships plus multiple owners championships in the truck series for Chevy. I Hope to see you drive select races in xfinity for JRM.
Brother go to NASCAR Offtrack's channel I believe they're using your content from one of your Harvick interviews. An I didn't see any credits either! I'm going to triple check myself. An I'll edit this post if I'm wrong about that.
Don't get more work to do after retirement , that's not retirement , that's changing jobs. God Bless you and your family , Kevin. It's been a Honor watching you all these years. We will see you on Fox , don't take any BS from them , Family is first.
Hell of a ride Harvick!! Thanks for all the year's of in your face driving, I cheered you all the way.. I'm not sure that i will even watch Nascar in the next season. So i guess that I too, retired from Nascar
Yea cant say i even been a fan of this guy. Or his attitude. But.... He is Kev and hes been around pretty much my duration of watching this sport. Ill miss rooting againt you on Sudays, but i wish u all the best post racing life we will see you on Fox 👍
I have been with harvick since the beginning seems like I've bled with this guy man it saddens my heart to see him quit racing you will be in the booth but damn it's been one hell of a ride Good luck happy Mr Bakersfield and I'll never forget you got to watch it run dirt nothing outdoor for the first time well anyways I'm getting choked up here God bless you and your family from Indiana USA
OK WOW. So I’ve watched Since the spears truck days. I’ve loved him, I’ve hated him , he made me laugh, then he made me cry. At the end I think he’s one of the most genuine drivers who ever came into any of the NASCAR series. I don’t have the knowledge or equipment to insert here but if I did Harvick pushes Keselowski from behind. My favorite moment even in my entire life not just racing😮
I know he wants to spend more time with his family and get out of the yearly week to week grind..but something he said here is very telling. He says He'd rather finish out competitive versus scrapping for a paycheck. I believe this is the #1 reason he is leaving. He sees SHR is going further downhill on the cup side and there are no powerhouse organizations with open rides. Add that in with how disgusted he is with the direction of the sport. He is not happy with car changes and how its effected safety and performance as well as rule changes that have screwed him out of a couple championships. 2022 I think did him in with how nascar screwed Ford, Hass neglectfulness and how the whole first playoff round played out. Darlington his team screwed him with two horendous pitstops in which he fought back and recovered only to only catch on fire in the cockpit..then at bristol he had to win to advance and he did his part and his crew choked the money stop and cost him from advancing. I think whats really happening is Kevin is discouraged with the lack of effort from SHR to keep up with the other organizations. He goes 💯 in every facet from sponsorship, marketing, weekly preperation, off season prep and is nore hands on than any other driver. When joining SHR he was finally able to use all of his abilites to manage his team and do things his way. He doesnt see the same commitment coming from the organaization that he is giving. On top of all that though, I think he also figures this late in his career he doesnt want to make another team jump and have to reestablish realtionships and go through the whole proccess. The stars aligned when joining SHR in 2014 to Tony Stewarts credit he made it happen for Kevin who was restricted in many ways at RCR Richard made sure things were done his way with HIS guys..and is still like that today which is why he still hasnt won a cup championship since Dale did it. Of course being the class act Kevin is, he would never come out publically and say any of this and throw anyone under the bus. Regardless, Im thankful that he got through this final season safely other than that whole bruised rib deal. And is able to end things on his terms, how he wanted to. Will miss seeing my favorite Driver out there. #4EVER
I've always been a Kevin Harvick fan even when I wasn't wearing his hat! He is and always has been a true ambassador of the sport! He is a racer through and through! Seeing him get emotional speaks volumes! I want to thank him from my heart for carrying the sport on his shoulders when we all needed it! I know it wasn't fair to you but you helped heal us all! We will miss you in the car but hope we see you maybe in SRX or wherever!
to a true champ and hof driver. you had a great career Harvick!!! I'll miss not seeing you drive but kudos to a great driver and I look forward to your next chapter in the booth
congrats to kevin harvick on an astonishing career. to step up and fill the biggest seat in racing. he to it on his shoulder and exceeded expectations. now kev can settle into enjoying life and family. so proud of the closer. . . . mr "whered he come crom"
When Kevin Harvick came to Stewart Hass racing he became the man as I am a Tony Stewart fan but Kevin will be greatly missed on the grid of any NASCAR race. Number 4 will go down as one of the greatest ever. Thank you Kevin Harvick for what you did for this sport and God bless you, your wife and kids in your future. See you in the hall of fame.
