@@amysharp6His lawyer probably is working on his case. Remember everyone has the right to a trial by jury, even someone who admits to DUI and vehicular homicide. His lawyer probably will realize his client is screwed and convince him to take any deal that allows him to possibly see the light of day even at 90.

Probably his VA checks, social security. There are elderly homeless people that cash their social security checks. I used to see it all the time when I worked at a check cashing in NY. Probably how he's able to afford the registration for the vehicle.

According to fox news he was living in hotels. Also he had previously had a DWI (I'm from the UK maybe that abbreviation is wrong) exactly 10 years to the date. Maybe he got drunk because of past trauma. 😡 Plz can you update me when if you hear anything more in regard to this case?

I agree, my brother served 11 years for having an eight of marijuana in 1992. But people can drink themselves stupid and get into a vehicle. But our gov't thinks potheads kill more people than drunks, go figure. Lawmakers are now starting to wake up though.....at least I think.

Shame on the driver. He is to serve and protect, and he did the opposite. I live in the community, and the people here say there is a Stop and Shop across the street. He was there trying to buy more beer. The manager asked him to leave. He was mad that he was going across the street to get more alcohol. If he had money for alcohol, he should have saved that money and gotten an apartment. Now, he can be a permanent resident at the jail. I hope he rot in prison! Very sad for my community,

Oregon’s law says you let someone drink too much then drive away from your bar, party, restaurant YOU the owner will be held accountable, too, for any accidents , injuries, deaths cause by allowing the drunk driver onto the roads.

Not the owner of the bar that's too far , he chose to go drinking alone and knew he had to drive himself back home,although in korea there's a new law where bar owners and servers won't let you drive and instead hire a driver to drive your car to your house for you and it's paid with the drinks and stuff

I think you're right. If you look at the CCTV video footage of the crash, he plowed into that salon dead-straight ahead at high speed like a kamikaze, going in between two cars that were parked in front of the building. Something in my gut tells me this wasn't just an accidental crash.

I used to drink a lot and smoke weed a lot. I wouldn’t get this bad but I would sometimes drive off the road and hit a curb because I wasn’t paying attention. All that made me stop drinking. Drinking would literally make me lose control of myself. Till this day, I’ll never understand how the other is legal but the other isn’t. Drunk driving is not to play with.

Bars and bar tenders who serve individuals too much alcohol at a sitting should be investigated and charged as well. This has to stop. There should be a limit on how much alcohol a person can drink at a bar or restaurant. This will ensure everyone else is safer.
