@@davidhong9112 Your indifference to him. A true Marine will tell you that there is no such thing as an ex-Marine. Even you are not an ex-Marine to many others, except in your own mind. Your former brothers would still stop what they were doing to help you. Or they will if they haven't read your post. The crime should be acknowledged and stringent punishment is definitely called for. However, I still would wonder what brought him to this point in life. I thank you for serving. Alcohol has existed for thousands of years in a majority of cultures. There is still no evidence he was drunk, until we see the bloodwork results, or surveillance of him closing a massive tab right before the accident. 18 beers 12 hours before, plus the hours it took to drink them, wouldn’t cause this type of accident. This is what happens on lots of liquor right after leaving the bar, not beer 13 hours later.

An utterly hearbreaking story. I am truly blown away 4 people passed away from this tragedy. I couldnt imagine the mayhem as a bystander being present during that moment. It must have been like a bomb going off to do so much damage. Rest in peace to the innocent people whos lives were taken away.

Agreed but I highly doubt he will be locked up. Worst could happen to him is he will be on house arrest and permanent suspension of his driver license. His attorney will use his age and “failing health” to avoid prison term.

Did you know if you drink 18 beers in 18 hours, one hour later your blood alcohol content is 0? He drank the night before and 13 hours elapsed. If you believe he drank 18 beers, then most of the beers would have been metabolized by the time of the accident. At most two beers worth left in his system. Two beers wouldn’t cause this. If you believe he drank 18 beers, it’s more likely a medical emergency occurred or stuck gas pedal or something else.

The system is too soft on drunk drivers. A drunk person driving can have as many as eight DUI 's. Nothing happens until they kill someone and sometimes not even then.
