Empathy Disconnect: A Sign of a Harmful Partner 

If someone shows interest in getting to know you but doesn’t demonstrate a capacity to care about that information, they are disconnecting from empathy.
When someone disconnects from empathy, there is a danger that they won’t care how you feel, and if someone doesn’t care how you feel, they don’t have to care how they treat you.
