This was such a great piece of music. I was so disappointed when I bought the soundtrack way back in 2005 and there wasn't any of Palpatine's theme on it. I thought surely this would have been on there, but nope.
My favorite part in Rise of Skywalker is when Kajimi is destroyed and they realize that they have thousands of these ships. This being played in the background just made it even more ominous.
Kijimi? How? A blast from a star destroyer, a ship from the new Sith fleet out of the unknowns... *Theme begins* The emperor sent a ship from Exegol, does that mean every ship in the fleet... Has planet killing weapons? Of course they do. all of them, this is how he finishes it. The Resistance is dead, the Sith flame will burn, all worlds surrender or die. The Final Order Begins
Curious fact: In the comic series "Darth Vader 2020" it was revealed that the fleet's laser cannons work with red kyber crystals. The faithful of the Sith cult harvested an entire mountain of Kybers that Palpatine made bleed. The Cannons work with an item that can only be obtained using the dark side of the force
When you realise that all Skywalker died but your family tree still continues and it took their name and legacy (Rey being a Palpatine and took the Skywalker name)
Every time I hear this I feel the darkness grow in the true Emperor, and the true power of the dark side. Favorite thing to do is read this while the song is play. “The Resistance is dead, the Sith flame 🔥 will burn, the final Order begins.”
This theme plays four times in the saga. First, it plays when Palpatine first sends Vader on his mission to attack the Jedi Temple. The first move in his master plan. Second, it plays as Palpatine brings Vader to the medical facility, thus locking Anakin into the prison of his own suit for decades to come... Third, it plays when Sidious' Final Order fleet reveals itself. The final stages of his decades-long plan is coming to fruition. Lastly, it plays when Rey approaches Palpatine's new throne room. The last part of his plan is in motion. And, once more, a new child will don the shadows of the Dark Side, ensuring that Palpatine's legacy truly lives forever... ...Except it doesn't. Rey takes the sabers of her two mentors, the New Hope for the galaxy, and as she takes the lightsaber of the Chosen One, this weapon that is Anakin's "life," she proclaims herself all the Jedi. And, with the blessing of the Chosen One, she brings back the balance, obliterating Palpatine's plans once and for all.
@@RexOlafusVidulusMagnus oh, I mean of course the Emperor's theme plays all throughout the Star Wars saga in Episodes I-III, VI, VIII, and IX. I just meant that particular rendition of the theme. Thanks for pointing that out!
