Sam Horder I agree but the joy of empire is that it’s simple and total war politics are very basic usually. Research trees need to have faster research but more stuff because end game tech you only can really use at the last few turns
May as well go all the way, make it as deep as EU4. That'd be amazing. Vicky 2s population mechanic would be pretty cool as well, but just a simple population system such as in Rome 2 DEI would be sufficient.
Started my first campagne 2 weeks ago. I guess that this unpolished diamond makes for a game that seems super interesting and makes u feel free to go nuts with your campagne, also because you feel in the beginning like there is so much detail to take into account, IF it was only polished enough and was given more time to develop more in detail, so it’s potential could be used effectively for the enjoyment of the game. THIS ( I think) makes people want to know more about the game; because you wish it had more dept, care and attention to detail given given to it so
Yup Same Here, but I have to say the list tip is really nice, because I often forget to move this one army. Though I have to say the way tax works in empire isn't exactly the way portrayed. More people doesn't equal to more tax. Tax is a percentage of the regions wealth. The regions wealth grows due to the towns and different technologies and the growth is hampered by a high tax rate on the upper class. So to sum it up: lower taxes on upper class = more wealth in the provinces = more tax in the long run Lower taxes on the lower class = more/faster towns = more regional wealth grow = more taxes (or other stuff like research if you choose so)
before you start playing campaign (if never played total war series) to do a few battle you create, also battles where you are in disadvantage so you can use those grey brain masses. when you start campaign I advise starting with a bigger nation so it takes longer for you to die if you aren't used to the game (that way you learn as you die) for example I started with Great Britain (used to total war) and I took over quite fast. have fun playing
I focused to much on military and completely neglected my populace and farming and stuff and ending up going bankrupt and losing units and getting taken over
Funny but I usually end up getting destroyed because I neglect my enemies and focus instead on securing trade nodes and managing trade. Netherlands is great to play as if you want to make money
never played this game before, but my friend said it was his favorite of the total war series and highly recommended I get it. Felt quite confused from the amount of manus and options so this video definitely helped quite a lot! Thank you so much 15 years later!
Very very good video. It helped me out lots. It was a wonder why i was finding the game annoying when things weren't going to plan. If i could give this video a double thumbs up then i would. I hope to see many more of your work Mr. Beaumont!
Actually a larger population doesn't affect your wealth. It's what structures you build that give default wealth to your regions and there may be a steady growth over time. However, everything else you said about population is correct.
I started with Great Britain in short campaign and just finished it and now i think to conquer all the world. It was my first campaing in ETW and i made some mistakes but with the time goes on i learn from them.
I came from Command & Conquer and love strat games with a certain passion. I really thought I'd never like this game after seeing a bit but after playing it, I'm literally in the process of buying it right now via steam Thanks for the video man very informative. My campaign should go very smooth from the get go
Whem it comes to trade ports, you also need to look at how much of that region's resources are being exported. That will also determine whether you need to upgrade your trade port or not.
Question, do troops replenish or do you have to retrain them? I like how Total War changed their play style when they made troops replenish than to go through retraining..
I really got to say that the tutorial was very basic, but the last stuff you said was very (and then i mean very!) interesting. Hope you make more detailed videos on each problem, if so you just got another subscriber! :-)
hey i know this might sound weird in a total war game but can u win the campaign through trade and fending off attackers until the enemy is so weak u can just capture his cities??
Its based on play type. If you want to kill all of your Enemy and lose some more of your troops continue the battle. If you want to save some of your men end the battle. The first one is more satisfying.
i a history nerd was happy when i found out that you start in 1700 at the start of the great northern war between denmark, Poland-Lithuania and russia VS Sweden
I need some help with this game. When I conquer other regions they allways form rebellions and take them back no matter if I exempt from tax or rebuild town. It says that its because they don't like my form of government, what can I do to expand my empire without having rebellions?
On Empire total war campaign is it better to continue the battle when asked the option and chase down the enemy or just end it there with the same results? Also obviously Gentleman can be moved to schools to increase the speed of technology, but what else can they do? I heard that they can steal technology from other nations some how? Also can the preachers/church people lol can they do anything else besides convert people? Newbie in need of some advice.
i should point out you do gather resources, its just the game automaticaly sells them and buys the resource you need to construct. (check the trade pannel for a list of resource prices)
@paintballer1231 If you haven't done this already then you might want to try this, try offering unlimited military access as this will be a huge advantage when negotiating. This works well with the smaller nations as well. They never take advantage of it.
@Killerkid282 I had this problem, for me it was cooling. My processor got really hot and the game lagged. I got a new big CPU cooler and didn't have anymore problems.
I was wondering where the genocide option was, welp now that I know you can't massacre the populace, I'll have to watch my trigger finger, thx for the tips bro!
can anyone help me i downloaded a torrent i tried to buy the game but i couldent find a copy anyway the game was in russian and can anyone tell me how i could change the languge to english or bangali or anyone language i would really appreciate the help thank you
@markisonlin3 a much cheaper way than that (if u have a laptop) is to buy a extra fan that u connect via USB and just place it under the laptop, my laptop got so hot that some wires actualy melted :S and then i bought it and now its not even so warm :D
All I want is empire 2 mixed with Rome two and shogun for the navy battles against cities and the train from shogun and they can incorporate China Japan Korea more of Africa and South America and truly make it the world but so far empires is my favorite out of all of them
I recently bought this game, and I have encountered many lags eventhough my pc is relatively new. Can somebody help pls? My specs are i7-950, sapphire 6870 and 4gb ram. Can this actually run on ultra on high because it lags when I try it.
GameSpot :: i just pick it up 11/5/2019 and yes it very overwhelming. i been wanting to buy a Total War Game for so long, but i know nothing of this game?, i am contemplating getting a Refund but then again i wanna give it a fair chance. But don't have time to think for steam gives you a certain amount of time for Refunds. You think i should keep it? and take time and watch a few youtube vids? Guess i haven't found a good strategy game hopefully this will be it. i Mean looks Awesome and the video game plays i watched are Epic and fun.
@OroxProductions nope actualy i live out in the contry side and do shooting ferreting and hunting. and it took me about 1 minuet to do both thes comments thats not my whole life. get ur facts strait boyo
Always struggled with empire after Rome and medieval 2 where I could just roll over the world with a few good armies with ease. Have to play the long term economic game here, not smash and grab
thx for the tips, i just start plaing this game, I have problems with the economy, I cant seem to make many How do i make more money? Because of choosing trade parntners i still am Bankrupt?| Can enyone please explain thx in advance
Wow great tips, just bought empire with warpath during the steam autumn sale and thought I check this out before playing. I'm not new to the series even though I have played napoleon witch was a huge dissaponitmen to me with its lack of factions and to much of a scripted coaliotn campaign . So I just play Rome and medival 2 till empire whent on sale. And don't get me started on with shogun witch was good but I only had the fall of the samurai and the campaign was boring and just primarily got it for online.
There's a shitload of information. When I first saw all that I was totally confused since it's completely different from the previous games. But that only makes it better since there is so much more you can do.
@airsoftkid65 You not only get to watch the battles happen but you get to control them! You see everything in fantastic graphics with thousands of troops. i have spent well over 200 hours on this game. look at the battle gameplays on utube.
