On Employee's State Insurance Act 1948 (ESI)
Benefits under the Employees' State Insurance Act, 1948
Section 46 provides for 6 types of benefits to which the insured persons, their dependants. These benefits are as follows:
Sickness benefit: Periodical payments in case of sickness certified by medical practitioner;
Maternity benefit: Periodical payments to an insured workman in case of confinement or miscarriage or sickness arising out of pregnancy confinement;
Disablement benefit: Periodical payment to an insured person suffering from disablement as a result of employment injury;
Dependents' benefit: Periodical payment to dependents of insured person;
Medical benefit: Medical treatment of insured person;
Funeral expenses: Payment of funeral expenses on the death of insured person at the prescribed rate of Rs. 10,000/-. (Now Enhanced to Rs. 15,000/-)

Update 22 December 2016: ESI wage limit has been increased to Rs. 21000 from Rs 15000 per month with effect from 01st January 2017. The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) today raised the monthly wage limit to Rs 21,000, from the existing Rs 15,000, for coverage.

Since ESIC benefits are extended to the family of the insured person, what if anyone of the family is sick of some disease that is out of the purview of the occupational diseases? Will the member receive any compensation thereon?

Thankyou sir for teaching these acts in so simple language.. but I have one query you said the definition of factoty has been amended and now they consider only 10 persons working..so factory's definition is amended only under esi act or under the factories act 1948

sir i feel the content of the topics covered is very restricted. for example: in the worksmen compensation act,topic like the theory of notional extension etc are not covered. but otherwise the topics are beautifully explained which helps in understanding the topic very well.

Ramesh Pachisia Sir, If a company was covered by esic on before 1975 and after that the number of employees dropped below 8 since 1976. Is that company is covered under the act or not.

your lecture is not enough to scroce gud marks in exam you won't cover every important topic, of exam point of view which we can't able to attend certain questions example as below u didn't cove this aspects? the member of corporation shall cease to be a member if they fails to attend __________ concentive meetings? if u enclose you mail address I will mail you sir!

Bhaiya ad RU-vid wala dalte hai.......ads skip karo...to kabhi kabhi bar bar ads aate hai... First ad skip na karo to bar bar ads nahi aate.... Ads se pese RU-vid. Kamata hai... Hum nahin...ads se kamne hote to dusro ke products sponsor karte....
